I think Chelsea is talented with a lot of potential. BUT she is also very unprofessional and the shop itself is filthy--floor looks like it hasn't been swept in months. I asked multiple times that she not get within less than a few inches of an existing tattoo and she said she understood, yet she tattooed right up next to it! I couldn't see the area to stop her. She talks non-stop and is constantly distracted by gossip with co-workers and friends + phone calls. I've been going to Chelsea, the shop owner for years, her artwork only gets better and better. I've gotten roughly 20+ tattoos from her, tell me to pick my favorite and I couldn't choose because each piece is fun and unique. The shop is one you don't feel weird going inside, or spending extra time. The atmosphere is great, all of the artists are personable and fun to get to know. They also take time to listen to your ideas to make sure your artwork is what you want. Bill is a very talented piercer, he has steady hands and does fast work, he completed my corset piercing quickly and efficiently with more patience than any other piercer I had previously worked with. I moved to the area a year ago and have been hesitant to get any mods done until now. I went with my close friend to get pierced today and was amazed at how kind and easygoing everyone was. Everybody in the shop was informative, kind, and comforting. Tori pierced my friend and me and was very encouraging, sweet, and patient. She calmed my nerves quite a bit and was extremely fast with the piercings she did on me (my nostril and smiley). I was comfortable and felt very welcome. I've followed Chelsea from her previous shop when she was an apprentice to now being a soul owner of the Painted Moth, I can't even imagine going anywhere else to be tattooed. I love my work because it's a tribute to the leaps she's made in the 5 years I've known her. I have over 20 pieces by her, and I frequently stop by the shop. It's always a fun place to be. They are respectful, while also keeping the tattoo shop inappropriate humor. They also are sure to work with everyone, whether it's a price range, meaningful artwork, or other reference material they are understanding and not in a rush to take your money and push you out the door.
