Got 3 tattoos and a cover-up. I really liked their customer service. Chris did my first tattoo, which was on my neck. That has been covered up by another artist though. Not due to Chris's work, just what was there. And Jen did my cover-up on my forearm and my writing tatt on my other forearm. She did an awesome job! Absolutly terrible. I would never recommend anyone to go here for a piercing. I am so angry with this place, I have spent hundreds trying to fix/heal piercings that were never going to be healed due to poor placement. I have never written a review before but this just really pissed me off. I dont know how well the tattoo artists are but I would never recommend anyone here for a piercing! I have gotten multiple piercings here and in the end I had to remove them all due to terrible placement and due to the fact I didnt have the correct anatomy for my industrial piercing. I have no idea why she would pierce my industrial if she knew the piercing would push into my ear. I now have a scar on my ear because the middle of my ear began to grow around the bar due to me not have the correct anatomy for this type of piercing. If she is as expierenced as she claims to be she should have the knowledge to know my ear shouldnt have been pierced like that, its clear to me she was just after my money. I also got my tongue pierced here and she couldnt even pierce it in the middle, I’m assuming this misplacement was due to the fact that she has never marked any of my piercing places before piercing. She freehanded all my piercings (exept my belly piercing, which btw has countlous issues with it!)! I have had other piercings by her which did have to be removed due to the terrible placement as stated before. I have no idea why I kept coming back to her even though it was against my better judgement. I assume it was because I was naive thinking the piercer knew better then me. Always trust your gut feeling! What did it for me, which sent me to another piercer who informed me of all these mistakes, was when I went to her over my keloid bumps on ALL my piercings and she took a 2 second glance at it to ammuse me and she told me I had no bumps and that my industrail piercing wasnt being shoved into my ear. Even though my bumps on my industrial piercing was nearly as big as the end ball on the piercing. Theres more I could rant on and get more into detail on but I’v made this review really long already. AWFUL ARTISTS. I should have known to leave right away when I smelled a strong scent of alcohol on the pierced up woman at the desk that I shouldn't have gone in. (In the middle of the day too) Waited for the tattooer to show up an hour late to my appointment. The line work was scratchy at best, and since bled out, and I'm now scheduling somewhere else for a cover up. Said hes been doing it for years but it looks like hes been doing it for about a month. Could not be happier with my experience here! I came in for a consultation pretty let down following a terrible first experience at another shop, to find Steve at the front desk. I told Steve I was a first timer and he immediately helped me with my design and really tried to get a feel for what I wanted. I could tell he cared about not only his work but his customers as well. I got scheduled only three days after the consultation and Steve came up with an absolutely amazing design. He had taken everything I had talked about into consideration and even added his own spin to it. Needless to say I loved it! I came for my four hour session in December and I still am in absolute awe of the work he did. Now I have relatives who have gone to Steve instead of their previous tattoo shops because they were so impressed. Not much more you can ask for as far as a great overall first experience. Read Less

Waited a week for my appointment, got there a few minutes early. Chris came out and gave me papers to fill out, said he had to clean his station, 10 minutes later he came out with a small garbage bag, he went outside, a few minutes later I looked out the window, he was standing out there smoking.. when he did come back inside he walked right past me and mumbled, it's going to be a few more minutes, then disappeared... I waited 10 minutes. And could not believe he was treating me like this. He was going to make $700.00 for doing my tatoo... I just got up and left. I was in that lobby 34 minutes. Disappointed. Have heard good things about Skin Candy via word of mouth, but experiencing that place for myself was mostly unpleasant. The artist who tattooed me and a companion was rude almost to the extreme, being short with us, blatantly ignoring questions I asked out loud, and going so far as to insult another tattoo of mine. I communicated with Rachel several times through Facebook, finally made an appointment to speak with her about my idea. I gave her a picture and we discussed the concept, I told Rachel that I trusted her and asked her to design something based on our conversation. On the day of my appointment she anticipated 3 hours for the artwork, but it ended up being 6 hours. At the end of the session she told me I would have to come back to finish the color. The tattoo was AMAZING, a...nd it wasn't even finished. I really liked what she had done and even contemplated leaving it without the color. I just went in for the color yesterday and I was blown away how the color and shading gave my tattoo a 3 dimentional look, it's a beautiful piece of artwork. Skin candy is the best! I've been working with Rachael on a full sleeve piece for over a year and all I can say is wow. I went in with a general idea of what I wanted and what she came up with blew me away! I'm really disappointed and frankly pissed. I went in and showed Mitch my idea and he scheduled my appt with Rachael two or three weeks prior and also took down my contact info. The day of I sent a photo of what I'd like done to Skin Candy's email as instructed by Mitch (super nice by the way) and I drove 40 minutes only to get a half assed apology and was told "...well I didn't receive the email and I'm working on someone else so..." I showed her the email address I sent the photo to and she said "...well that is the email address..." I also had communicated with her on fb a week ago and confirmed the time and date with her as well as sent her a photo of what I wanted, in which she stopped replying. My first tatoo. Brought in picture how I wanted it. My tat ended up having a blow out. I thought I was bruised and not healed. After 3 weeks my daughter said something is wrong. I went on the Internet to find out it's called a blow out done by an experienced artist. I called to see if it could be fixed, and was told yes but the same artist would have to fix it. After reading a lot of good things about this place, I decided to check them out. I walked in there on Nov. 16, 2015. I talk to Trevor, who seemed like a really nice guy. I showed him the art work that I've been working on for a couple of years. We talked about placement, color, and things that can be tweaked on it. I was open with every idea, as let's face it he is the artist. After agreeing on a price I told him I just needed to double check some dates that I would be open for as he said it would take upward to 4 hours. I called Trevor later that night and he scheduled me for Nov. 21st, 2015 at 5:30 pm. He asked me if I would be able to come in before then so he can get a copy of my drawing and go over extra details. We settled on the next day. On Nov. 17th 2015, I walked in to Skin Candy to greet Trevor. He made a copy and we talked about what was going to happen. I gave him my number and left. On Nov. 21st 2015 at 1230pm (5 hours before my session) I get a call from Skin Candy. I answer it thinking this must be nothing but a reminder of my appointment. Instead it was some guy named Chris telling me he was in fact going to do my tattoo that night, but unfortunately he got a flat tire and would be unable to do it. He told me that yes he was at the shop but he was borrowing someone's car at the moment and had to return it within the hour. Taken back by everything he just told me, I said ok and guess I would reschedule. After hanging up the phone it click what he had told me. First off, I thought Trevor was doing my tattoo? Second, why or how does it take 5 hours to change a tire? Not to mention your at the shop now and can't work because you have to return a car? The next day was Sunday so I could not call as they are close. I did call on Nov. 23rd, 2015 and asked for Trevor, but all I got was some rude guy saying he wasn't at work nor would he be in today. I called the next day and asked for him again. Got the same attitude. When I tried to explain last Saturday he told me he knows nothing about it and I would have to speak to Trevor, but wouldn't/couldn't tell me when he worked. Even if I got through to Trevor, I wouldn't trust him or anybody at this place to put a tattoo on me. I am very disappointed as I've been looking forward to this tattoo. I would either like my artwork back or destroied, as that is my property. All I know is I will never recommend this place to anyone for anything. Read Less

I love this place, it feels more like a spa than a tattoo shop. Very clean, and the people are very friendly and helpful. I recently got an anklet tattoo done by Grady and it is amazing and I get so many compliments (and it hasn't even healed yet!) The first thing when you walk into this shop you will notice 3 things. 1. It's a cealn shop and 2. It smells AWESOME in there and lastly the people are friendly as hell and won't BS you and waste your time and money. These guys work with any budget and they do KILLER WORK. I am currently getting my leg sleeve done there by Jason Vogt who is probably one of the best local artists I have ever seen besdies like Dan Hazelton (Jasons mentor/teacher). You walk in there and it is a spa like looking tattoo shop. It will be nothing you have ever seen before unless of course, you are a regular there like me and my brother, who also got it right arm sleeve done there by Jason as well. this guys portfolio will rock your face off and you won't think twice about going anywhere else. The only other shop that I would recommend if you are closer to the Milwaukee area is Solidstate Tattoo with Jeremy Kirk who is another amazing artist as well. DO NOT waste your time with nickle and dime tattoo shops that do shotty work. Get it done RIGHT the first time and make it your top priority to be as picky as hell. If you dont like the work on your tattoo artist, the cahnces are is that your current tattoo artist don't know anything about good tattooing. But none the less, check out skincandy, you won't be sorry I sent you there. Peace Read Less
