I have looked around for quite awhile questing for that piece of art that I'm going to be comfortable wearing for the rest of my life and found Rachael @ I Ov Thee Dragon. She was able to take my concept and turn it into a full-blown piece of "Art". So you should know that this is my first tattoo and I have been in the Military for over 20 years so have see the good, the bad, and the ugly and have seen more than a few shops and Artists. All that being said I'm quite impressed that from a couple of photo's she was able to come up with a complete design that just sets that tone I have been looking for. I will only get pierced by Jonathan!! He's really nice, gentle, honest, and will be up front if he doesn't think a particular piercing will work out. Especially with surface piercings. Grady Nerad is, in my opinion, the best tattoo artist in the area hands down. Great dude, great work, clean, and has no problem chatting it up while he works on your tattoo. Also, very fair prices. I walked in with a friend of mine and just gave Grady a broad idea of what I was looking for, came back in a couple days and he had a rough sketch that looked exactly what I was picturing. This is the best place in Racine to get body modifications done. The staff is super friendly, the place is spotlessly clean, and they are all very talented - especially my artist, Adrian. If you go in for a piercing, they'll tell you whether its feasible or not for your particular body. They won't just pierce you and take your money if they know the piercing will not work out. I had been thinking about getting my tongue pierced for about 3 years, but I always chickened out.  I worried about all the things that could possibly go wrong and I talked myself out of it every time.  Recently, I went to i ov thee dragon and found Jonathan between appointments and he let me ask about 15 neurotic, whiny, scaredy-cat questions and not once did he look even the mildest bit annoyed, impatient, or put out by the exercise.  He calmly, competently, thoroughly, and politely addressed each and every one of my concerns, never minimizing the actual risks.  It was so clear he was most interested in educating me and helping me make the best choice, even if that choice was that I not get pierced at all.  His demeanor, the fact that he had obviously done the procedure thousands of times, and his quiet confidence compelled me to trust him.  Prior to the piercing, he made absolutely certain I understood the aftercare instructions and the consequences of not following them appropriately.  He recommended aftercare products that were conveniently available at his shop, as well as others that could be purchased elsewhere.  I got my tongue pierced and was absolutely amazed that the procedure went down exactly as he had described it, step-by-step, no surprises.  It was quick, almost completely painless, and I was stunned by how simple he made such a complex and potentially dangerous piercing appear.  It's only been a week since my piercing and my healing is going exactly as he predicted, down to the physical descriptions he gave me of the swelling, potential on and off bleeding, and the slight release of a white substance that is not pus and may look alarming, but is quite normal and natural.  I intend to follow his directions for the duration of the healing period, including to expect the process to take anywhere from 3-6 weeks.  I expect to enjoy this piercing for years to come and highly recommend a piercing by Johnathan.
