Im only giving it one star because i love their art. I went in to get a septum peircing and ge tried to pierce it in the wrong spot, i only knew that because i did a lot of research and watched numerous videos of actual professionals doing the procedure, and this guy didnt even do anything he was suppose to, he just tried rushing through the whole process without listening to me, i ended up walking out! I then went to a different shop in madison and she did an excellent job! She did it exactly how its suppose to be done, i cannot believe this guy is even registered as a professional!! First experience was in Middleton WI. The staff was pretty rude, the piecer was inexperienced and rushed through the piercing, didn't clean area of the piercing and didn't clean ear rings.I paid about 170 dollars. 2nd time went to New Glarous WI, to get new jewelry and matching tattoos with my 23 yr old daughter, the first time all lines fell out and most shading. 3rd time We went back for a touch up, last week and lines and shading falling out again. As a 68-year old grandmother, I got my first (and last) tattoo a month ago when I visited my daughter in Monticello. Joe (Webby) Weber was the artist. I told him I wanted a hummingbird; I gave no other details about coloring, etc. He drew up a design and I loved it! Joe was so personable that he made the time go by and the pain seemed minimal. Came into Art & Soul to get 2 tats. Alyss designed a set of angel wings and a single feather which I was extremely happy with.  The tats turned out SPECTACULAR!!  I brought my daughter and best friend and they both got tats from Beth. Emily at Art & Soul worked on me for almost half an afternoon and I've never felt more relaxed getting ink. The music was soothing and the atmosphere very peaceful. I'll be returning in Sept to have more work done. Of the many tattoo parlors I've been to over the past 21 years, this is by far my favorite. I also bought some candles and soap. They sell art and other items as well. Renee' May the owner and manger is as sweet as they come as far as I'm concerned. Worth the trip to New Glarus for many reasons. She was really friendly and willing to answer my questions, and was very flexible when I decided to change my mind about one aspect of the design halfway through the tattoo. Went with a family member as they got their first tattoo. Emily was the one who did the tattoo and she was great, very patient as she explained things, very clean and extremely professional and personable. Also, while I waited I enjoyed looking at all of the beautiful artwork around the store from local artists. Definitely a first rate place.Read Less
