I visited a few of the Bay View shops before committing to Laurent. I could not possibly be happier with the work he gave me (quarter sleeve, Oct 2016). Beyond the phenomenal artwork, Laurent is VERY easy to work with. He's a natural at making you feel comfortable- there's zero intimidation. The whole process felt very non-transactional, as if I were heading over to my buddy's house for a tattoo. If you're shopping around for an artist like I was, stop here- you won't be disappointed. The experience I had at Old Salt tattoo has far exceeded any other tattoo art shop thus far. I received a half sleeve tattoo and Laurent made me feel comfortable with my tattoo choice and trust was there 100%. His eye for the artistic placing of a tattoo, shading of tattoos, and the customer's needs is unbelievable and i have not seen that in any other artist. He listened to what i wanted, gave me some feedback with what it might look like, and altered it accordingly. Lane is an amazing artist with years of experience tattooing. He is easy to work with and transforms conceptual ideas into phenomenal art. He is very detail oriented and critical of his work. I have multiple tattoos by Lane over the past 10 years that still look like the day they were first done. Laurent is the only guy in town that I'll go to for tattoos. His work and is shop are super clean. His artistry and design work are excellent. It seems like he can do any style of tattoo. He's done 4 for me so far and I've been happy with all of them, and I'm looking forward to stopping in for some more work. The shop is a comfortable and inviting environment.
