Went and got my first tattoo yesterday and I was super nervous how it was gonna turn out. If anyone knows me and my bond with my dog. He really helped me bring it to life in art! I waited 56 years for my first tattoo. Truth be told... I didn't even consider getting one for the first 55. When life threw me some rather unpleasant curveballs I discovered the need to surround myself with positive words and images. A Pinterest addiction quickly brought semicolon tattoos to my attention and I decided that I wanted one. (My son finds great humor in reminding me that I used to threaten to disown him for getting a tattoo.) My priorities were to find a clean ta...ttoo parlor, with a talented artist, at an affordable price. My search led me to Jeff, at Back Alley Tattoo, and I'm so glad it did! Jeff is not only an excellent artist but an awesome human being with whom to spend an afternoon! I loved my design from the first minute. Driving from Menomonee to Thorp, via the Lake Hallie Walmart, felt way too long to wait to look under the gauze! Then as it healed, I realized that I wanted to change the design a bit, so I went back to see Jeff, to add a heartbeat line and emphasize the semicolon. Jeff suggested adding white highlights to make the black ink pop. And he gave me a price that seems far kinder to my wallet than his! Artwork is amazing. Artist is fantastic. Shop is spotless. I have nothing but good things to say. Wasn't planning on getting anymore tattoos but after my experience today I'm already thinking up my next one and I can't wait to go back!
