Unsanitary, poor customer service and unorganized.
Story time...
My daughter called to make an appointment to have her septum pierced. She spoke to the woman who stated she would be available in 20 minutes. We arrived 10 minutes later to the tattoo artist telling us the piercer was at Culver's. We waited. And waited. And waited. When my daughter asked the tattoo artist for a second time if the lady was going to be much longer. We received the same answer, "she shouldn't be long, she just ran to Culver's. I can't promise but I can't imagine it being longer than 5 more minutes." We continued flipping through artwork and magazines while we waited.
When the lady returned with her fast food she scurried by us without even a glance in our direction with a "Hi". She proceeded to go to the counter where the tattoo artist stood to divvy up their food. With her food bag in hand she waved us to follow to her station where she left us to go stand in the back doorway to converse with a man who had met her at the shop. My daughter politely said, "Excuse me Ma'am we've been waiting and we have to get going." She replied with, "Oh, you're in a hurry?" Then we watched her scuffle in her drawers for sterilized tools for several minutes without luck in finding the tools necessary to pierce my daughter's septum. She then pulled her entire bin of used dirty tools from her bottom drawer, proceeded to the back room once again to clean the needed tools. It was at this point I told my daughter, "That woman is not sticking a needle in your body." We politely got up and as we were walking out I told the tattoo artist, "We called and she said 20 minutes. We were here in 10, waited another 20+ minutes and she's clearly unorganized so we're going to opt out." And we left.
No matter the profession, customer service is key. If you schedule an appointment, keep it! Introduce yourself to your client and don't do other "dealings" with your paying customers in ear shot and get organized so you are able to do your job.
My 18 year old daughter was highly disappointed with the experience at Lake City Tattoo. A few days later we went to another establishment in town. We walked in, filled out paperwork, showed her ID, went back to the piercer's station where he put gloves on, grabbed two septum rings for my daughter to choose from, opened his sanitized tools, explained the procedure in detail and proceeded to pierce her septum. We were in and out within 15 minutes. That's CUSTOMER SERVICE you can depend on! Read Less
