PLEASE READ!!! I like this shop quite a bit keeping in mind that I’ve been here once. Everyone was really nice and easy to talk to. I went there to get my tongue pierced, as i got to the back room Rene comforted me. (This is why I’m giving them one stars) Everything was prepared and he said i have a big tongue. I took a look at the jewelry and asked if it would big. Rene said yes it would. A few days later my balls are starting to sink into my tongue (Keep in mind that i understand swelling, and i constantly clean my piercing) i went to go get a it changed cause i was getting worried about the pain and then sinking into my tongue. Rene wasn't at the shop and i was not going to wait for him to get back next week, i went another shop (This shop shall not be named) they told me that they constantly get people coming in with similar problems because Rene pierces with smaller jewelry constantly. The other shop changed it for me. It took 3 artist to look at it and 2 to get out my ring. Apparently Rene also screwed the piercing in wrong and messed up the thread so they couldn’t get it out for a while. Now my tongue is infected and I’m constantly cleaning it, even more than when i first got it done. I will not be returning to this shop but i wish all of the artist there the best of luck. Read Less

Rushed rude & cheap jewlery I went in for a nose piercing about 2 weeks ago my gem fell off already, was not told how to take care of my nose, and felt like I was a bother and rushed to get out as my nose bleed some and the piercer rudly was like "Well I'll just sit here let me know if you need me" would NEVER RECREMEND Read Less

Got my tattoo last week by Rene. Brought him several ideas I had. He took me back, showed me different ideas and pulled it all together. I went into this tattoo business based on a good recommendation from a friend of mine. I called first to make sure they had availability to talk because I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to do to add on to two tattoos that already exist. I didn't know if I wanted to touch them up or change them in any way, but wanted to have a chat about my options. Renee recommended that I come in at 5:30pm and I arrived on time. I walked in and he met me at the front and he questioned the time of my appointment even though he made it practically one hour previous to me coming in. Apparently, he thought I was early. Not a good start. I told him in advance that I wasn't sure what I wanted to do and that I was nervous to do anything. He seemed very disinterested. Without any discretion whatsoever, he asked me in public, to show him my tattoos. No room, no chair, nothing. I showed him and he didn't have much to say. I asked him what I could do to touch up the color or possibly add something to them since it has been over 10 years since they had been last touched. He shot down every single idea I had (even the simplest thing as adding more than one color to an outlined tattoo). He was saying he wouldn't touch them or be able to do anything with them. He was very condescending and uninterested in helping, actually saying he had no idea what to do to help me since he just met me and didn't know me. Not one single original or creative idea to help me in any way. I left feeling bad about my existing tattoos which he said were "eyesores" and feeling bad about the customer service I had been give especially when this place was recommended. I read some other reviews on here with women specifically having issues with Renee. I should have looked here before deciding to go to Parker and Barrow. I will be telling everyone I know about this experience. Renee should really work on his people skills, particularly with women it seems. There is a little effort in tattooing that requires selling an idea to someone. If you don't have a connection with the person you are tattooing, there is no way it will be a good experience for you or the customer. He definitely needs a lesson in personal etiquette. Read Less

I've gotten many tattoos here! The atmosphere is welcoming, the stations are private (not an open floor plan where everybody in the vicinity can see you getting worked on), everything is very very clean, and the staff is world class. The artists are open, honest and will always help you get the results you truly desire! Some shops have bad vibes right when you walk in the door; this is definitely NOT one of those shops! Nothing but good vibes and people who put off the same vibes. I keep seeing negative reviews of this place getting replies about how all the artists are independent contractors, so I'll specify that my review is specifically of Rene Palma. I'll start form the beginning, I explain to him that I'd had my navel pierced before and that my body had pushed the piercing out and asked if, in light of that, it'd be advisable to have it pierced again. He acted as though it were ridiculous for me to expect him to be able to advise me on that (he's not a doctor, you see, and apparently only doctors know things about piercings.) I decided to go ahead with it anyway. When we got into the back room I informed him that I would rather have a captive bead ring than a barbell and his reaction indicated that he thought a captive bead ring was some sort of different, more complicated piercing than your usual navel piercing and firmly informed me that this was just going to be a "basic" one. Maybe he actually does know what a captive bead ring is but he was making a point of speaking to me as little as possible (seemingly to make it clear that he felt doing so was a waste of his time) and from what little he said to me I could only logically deduce that he doesn't. The piercing it self was quick and without incident but when I got to my car I noticed it was profusely bleeding and went back inside. At firs the laughed when I told him but when I lifted my shirt to show him that it was in fact PROFUSELY bleeding, he hastily pulled me into the back room and taped a piece of paper towel over it with masking tape. I guess he must not be allowed to have gauze or even band aids on account of the whole not being a doctor thing. I bled through the paper towel on my was home and wound up having to stop at a drug store, buy gauze and medical tape and patch myself up in the bathroom like I'd been the victim of a parking lot stabbing. So far their doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the piercing itself but I probably could have gotten a simple navel piercing from any of the less trendy piercing places in Kenosha and not have been treated like garbage. I'd only recommend Rene to someone if I secretly hated them and then only if they were women since, based on what I've read on Yelp, it's mostly female clients that he can't stand having to speak to. The criticisms I have for the facility in general are that they couldn't give me an aftercare sheet because their printer was out of ink and they don't sell saline wash, which I guess would have been a lot to expect from a place that doesn't even keep gauze on hand. Being a woman of class kept me from exposing you right in front of your peers however not from taking my time to write this well-deserved review of you and your self-imposed grandeur. Your not all that,First off folks, whatever you do, don't drive 2 hours to be treated like shit for being a little late. Especially since you're going to be asked to wait anyway. And Rene...a little nugget of wisdom for you...do not show your clients your booked schedule as to look important because you're not. It only proved to me what an arrogant douche bag you are.Also, Rene...you should take a class on customer service because your lack of it will cost you dearly. When you shushed me and told me to be quiet because your "A Professional" was the most ridiculous part of the whole event with you. There is a silver lining here folks and he's called Ed Dezo. Rene did excellent font work on the script I had him tattoo on my forearm. It was pretty, well spaced, and didn't go into the fold of my arm. He was nice and cool to work with. Gave good advice and answered some questions I had on the healing process the next day very politely. Clean tattoo rooms. Would go back for more work and highly recommend! Read Less

I wish i could give zero stars because this was the WORST service I've ever had. None of the employees were nice, especially Renee. He rushed me, he was SO RUDE. My tattoo is not at all what i wanted, it's crooked and he was making snide, extremely misogynistic comments. I don't even live in Wisconsin but I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone here. I have never been so disrespected and treated so poorly from a tattooer in my life. My mom, sister & niece were with me and also had the same issues with him. I drive an hour and twenty minuted there and an hour and twenty back every time i go and I've been going for almost 2 years now. Ive met most if not all the artist that work there and they are all very nice and polite people, never had any disrespect from anyone i have talked to so i don't know what these one star reviews are talking about. If you want a custom tattoo, not pulling a pixilated image off google and asking for a smaller version of that, i recommend this place to anyone. The artists are more than capable than doing a phenomenal job, so don't take the bad reviews too serious, go in and find out for yourself. Very disappointed. Went in to get a quote for a tattoo. Talked with Rene. He was incredibly rude and called the tattoo idea "retarded" and basically laughed at it. I was incredibly agitated with the lack of respect this man showed toward a potential customer. One of the other artists was behind the desk when Rene was talking and said that Rene was "blunt", but I think the problem is that he just has a lack of respect for others and for any tattoo that he himself doesn't like. After looking at his work, I understand why he wouldn't want to take on this tattoo. He kept trying to explain that it needed to be bigger, but the tattoo didn't need to be any bigger, Rene just obviously lacks the ability to work such fine details into a smaller, more intricate design. After flipping through the rest of the portfolios, I noticed the quality of the tattoos seemed to be subpar as well. Next time I'll just wait until I'm back in my home town to get my tattoos done. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. Save yourself the time, frustration and anger and just go somewhere else. Read Less

I went in with my own art, said I wanted it exactly as it was (with one okayed change). Wish I had thought to ask to see the outline before starting, because it was more narrow than it was supposed to be. Then there were two aspects of the tattoo that I was extremely disappointed in- one part is VERY overdone, and the other is extremely uneven. Had my art been referenced during the service, this could have potentially been avoided. Or my artist should have communicated with me more if there was something I could do, or if there was a different employee who could have executed the design better. Despite knowing that touch-ups are free, considering that I live an hour away and the level of disappointment I have, I will be going somewhere else that was recommended to me. Read Less

I was referred to this tattoo shop by a good friend that has had pretty impressive work. Based on her experiences, I thought that this would be the best place to have a simple and small tattoo done by Rene Palma. BIG MISTAKE. When I arrived at the shop, there was no one at the front desk. We waited about 10 minutes and finally a girl came out to greet me. I should add that this girl was probably 8 or 9 years old?! I don't exactly know her age, but she was definitely underage. She then proceeded to look for someone to help us. Rene finally came to the front desk and had an extremely dismissive and unprofessional attitude. He was on his phone and did not even introduce himself.  I showed him the tattoo that I wanted and he stated, "REALLY?? everyone has that." I thought he was joking but he continued to belittle and speak to me in a condescending tone. He went on and on about how the whole world has this tattoo.  He then proceeded to indirectly force me into signing the waiver to have the tattoo done! Despite his lack of professionalism, I kindly stated that I was going to think about the tattoo but he insisted on showing me other designs. I appreciated the fact that he wanted me to have a unique tattoo but I specifically stated that this was the only tattoo that I wanted. I left the shop in utter dismay. Prior to this experience, I had referred two other clients to Rene and they unfortunately had THE SAME EXACT EXPERIENCE. Rene belittled their tattoo design and seemed offended that it wasn't a piece that was extravagant or fit to his tattoo style. Definitely AVOID this shop at all costs. Read Less
