The ONLY one star review on here is garbage. This studio great, let's cover a few general points here. Pricing: Pricing here is competitive to say the least, when you go to shops in Madison or Milwaukee you might associate the tattoo with the "you get what you pay for" mentality but let's be honest, to rent a studio size space in Madison you might be paying over $5,000.00 a month. So in all reality you're paying for a lot of their overhead and operating costs. Slammin Ink is owned by the land owners so you'll get a better price for the same quality work you'd have to pay more for in a big city. Quality, tattoos & piercings: The quality is great, wether it be piercings or tattoos, I've personally had them both done here. The tattooists have a rock solid resolve for excellence and are honest, if you want a dragon on your finger they're not going to throw some garbage on you and take your money. They'll let you know what you want in the specific area carries some risk of holding it's color and appeal. However they understand if you must, you must. I've also had my septum pierced and my ears pierced at a 8g and immediately stretched to a 4g. They are all symmetrical and healed weeks faster than other piercings I did on myself in my younger days. They also provide good quality body jewelry for healing to assure seamless and rapid healing. Availability and staff: The staff is composed of an owner operator and another tattooist. I've been tattooed from the southeast to the northwest and I've seen the good the bad and the ugly. I've seen (and been tattooed by) artists that don't care for the work if they don't wanna do it and artists that have a passion for their work and love to work. The artists at Slammin Ink Tattoo have a passion for what they do often letting their work and passion for art creep into their private life. While at a small town tattoo shop the walk in availability is normally greater it's always smart to book an appointment. If you're coming from out of the area is recommend making an appointment. Cleanliness and studio: There's no doubt that from the outside that the shop looks small but once you step inside you can tell there's a quality appeal to the area. Cleanliness is of the utmost importance to the staff, as someone who's been at and observed MANY different shops operate I can assuredly say that Slammin Ink Tattoo places the highest priority on being sanitary. Bare hands never touch anything that touches you, hand washing is compulsive, every piece of equipment that touches you comes from a sanitary package, even the furniture is cleaned before and after you use it. My friend and I each got piercings done in August. The owner is the one that did them. She told both of us that our piercings would be healed in 3 weeks. We never got care sheets (pretty standard anywhere else)... in between our piercings nothing was cleaned up or sanitised. We went into Madison for some new jewelry. The lady there told us it would take 6 months for my triple helix to heal and gave me a care sheet..she told my friend that her tragus was pierced crooked and a stud earing would never lay flat in it...she now has to let her piercing close up and get it re done. Kristine was able to change a mistake that was made on my tattoo originally. She was able to change a 6 into a 4. The whole time she asked me what I thought of the changes she was making, and took it little by little to make sure it was what I wanted. She also free handed two perfect flying birds to the original. Now, I am proud to show off this piece, and love it even more. Went in tonight to get a matching tattoo with my older sister. It was a very special tattoo because we only found each other Novemeber 1, 2015 at 26/28 years old. We wanted something to celebrate finally finding each other. Such great service and was taken care of all the way through. Was completely satisfied with the end result. Everything about this place is great! First I call to see if they can fit me in at a moment's notice, and they tell me to come on over for my tattoo. Kyle worked with me to make my tattoo exactly what I wanted. It didn't take him long to take my ideas and put it into a drawing. He did an amazing job with my tattoo, the lines and colors are just perfect. He was really cool and the whole atmosphere of the place was very laid back and comfortable, while still professional. The prices there were so reasonable as well. Lots of places nowadays seem to up charge for every little thing but he said he wasn't going to overcharge me for his work. So far I've gotten 6 done in the past yearvhere, going in next week for my 7th. Everyone has been my design and we havery discussed every aspect from size to design ideas that I didn't think of. Very nice people and shop and always willing to work with you and your ideas. My next one covers my chest,shoulder and 3/4 sleeve. I trust them to the point I have my kids go there. I got my conch pierced here. Worst experience I've had with a piercing. I followed all the instruction they gave me (what little there was). Still, the piercing ended up infected. Went to get it looked at by another piercing artist and he was appalled by the what they had done. The bar they had put in my ear, he said was ridiculously big and that he suspected uncleanly procedures which screwed me from the beginning. 10/10 would NOT recommend Slammin Ink Tattoo. Read Less

My sister went to go get her daith pierced and they didn't even pierce the right thing!!! They peirced the forward helix! The whole point of her going to get the daith was to see if it would help her headaches and she didn't even get the right piercing because the lady didn't know what she was doing!! Horrible customer service - I sent a facebook message on May 29th asking for July 3rd availability along with a picture of what I wanted done. I got a response asking if 1pm worked, and I said yes. I called on May 29th to confirm as no one replied to my facebook message, yet I got a nasty facebook message today saying I'm late and how uncool I am. And then when I call to see where the miscommunication is, I get hung up on. Kyle just missed out on a $700-800 tattoo and what's worse is that he is an awesome artist. If the owner's daughter is the one running the facebook I'm not at all surprised, she had a ton of negative reviews for her sloppy work on their facebook page. I have now received 2 tattoos from 2 different artists. Both times the tattoo looked great and I loved it for about 2 weeks. The downside? After following their care instructions, they fade really quickly. Both tattoos had some flaking and I did not pick at them at all but once flaking is done, the tattoo looks like I've had it 20yrs. My other tattoo from a different shop was and is still perfect, still looks new. Newer than the one I just got a couple weeks ago. Won't be going back. Great artists though; they do the design you want and have great personalities. Still, won't bring me back though. Read Less
