We are a fully custom shop, we don't have the flash you would normally see hanging up in more tattoo shops. We try our hardest to make sure each one of our customers leaves with something they will be proud to wear for life. Each of our artists specializes in something different to fit every need and style of our customers.

Can speak highly for the staff, friendly and flexible. I had Hailey as my tattoo artist and she did an amazing job on my shoulder piece, and was a fast worker. She was focused and made me feel very comfortable, am looking forward to going back! She also has a fantastic Instagram page featuring lots of amazing work.

The Skinny Buddha was clean and cozy, and the staff were welcoming and fun to talk to while we waited. The tattoo artist made sure to fully communicate his ideas and made sure he did it exactly as the customers wanted it. Overall it was a great experience, with one hiccup. When applying the protective sleeve after the tattoo was done, something was done incorrectly or forgotten because it had fallen off the day after instead of staying on for the full length of time.

I have been going to this shop for 8 years - I have tattoos from several of their artists and have some of their prints hanging in my home. They're a talented bunch and I love seeing what they create.Tattoo shops are a personal thing - like many people I get most of my work done in one place because I've always had a good experience. I feel like they take my questions seriously and are always open to suggestions/changes to the drawings they've prepared for my appointments. Everyone I've encountered there is respectful and pleasant to talk to. The shop is always very clean. They have a comfortable waiting room that has more of a lounge feel and the whole place has a chill vibe.If you're thinking about a tattoo, check out the different artists work on facebook or instagram so you know which artist you'd like to see- otherwise you can explain what you're looking to get and they can suggest someone. Aside from all that, I really love that they have donation drives for animal shelters a few times a year and I've seen their gift certificates at charity auctions. It's nice to see a tattoo shop that's invested in making the world a better place.

I would highly recommend Nate who did two of my four current pieces. When I called to set up my appointment I didn’t have an artist picked out so the receptionist suggested Nate, and it really worked out. My first piece by him was a lioness with three flowers. I went in for a console with my pieces drawn out, and he took the time to draw out the exact details I wanted, correct flowers, correct size and shading. Not much of a talker, but neither am I. The second piece he did was a slight cover up of the star trek symbol on my ankle, with the addition of an alien. I was in and out in 45 minutes, which is really convenient.

Best experience ever. Joe is incredibly thoughtful and fun! He let me break my relatively small/cheap tattoo into several sessions because I have a low pain tolerance. I understand that this isn't convenient for him, but he really put my comfort first!! I'll definitely be returning to him as the work is beautiful and his concern with my well being is 100% amazing. Seriously, he's going above and beyond for a simple moth tattoo. I couldn't be happier. He even gave me a lollipop after today's session.

Got tattooed by Lisa on my birthday last year (attached pic for reference) and hope to make it a yearly birthday tradition! Everyone at Skinny Buddha is kind and makes their customers feel comfortable. They even shared their take out with me!
If you look at all the artists' portfolios on their Facebook page it's easy to see that there is some amazing talent there. I particularly love Lisa's art and she did a fantastic job of creating a piece for me based off the ideas I presented her with.
Lastly, I think it's worth mentioning that when you patronize Skinny Buddha you're patronizing a business that gives back. Lisa is incredibly active in volunteering and rescuing animals in need and gives a lot of her time and energy towards these projects. I feel good knowing that I'm giving my money over to someone not only talented and passionate for her job, but also kind to and passionate about animals.

Skinny Buddha has the best artists out of any shop I’ve been to.. I’ve had 95% of my tattoos done at Skinny Buddha and I am always satisfied with the work that each of the artists do! Ever since I got my first tattoo here, I haven’t gone anywhere else. The shop is always clean and I love the environment that each of the artists and other customers create. I feel so comfortable and 100% trust any artist that is doing work on me. I never feel awkward when I’m getting tattooed by any of the artists, they are so welcoming and friendly. I recommend Skinny Buddha to anyone looking for suggestions for tattoo shops. The price you pay is worth the work. I always get compliments on my tattoos any time that I go out in public. All of the artists that I have worked with (Nate, Andrew & Hailey) were willing to help me decide on the perfect tattoos and provided great results each time. If there is any time that I want to die, it’s before Skinny Buddha goes out of business!

I live in Madison and have gotten 95% of my tattoos done here (and regret the other 5%).I've gotten pieces from Andrew, Nate and Hailey and all are fantastic. It's a very comfortable atmosphere and the artist will answer any and all of your questions, and put you at ease if you're nervous about anything. I'm never going to another tattoo shop, this place is it.

I had a floral line piece done by Hailey here, and she did a fantastic job. She was available to meet twice before the actual appointment, and was very attentive to detail as I explained the concept. The cost was less than originally quoted, and the tattoo itself took a larger chunk of the afternoon but Hailey was fantastic in making sure I was comfortable. I would absolutely go back, especially since their customer service in and of itself was phenomenal. Thanks guys!

When I go in to Skinny Buddha everyone has been very friendly and welcoming. I get my work done by Joe after another shop cancelled on me 5 time, twice in 1 week. Joe has a great eye on what needed to be done and every time I leave the tattoo comes more to life. He has amazing skills. Never will I go to another shop again.

Pretty unhappy with my tattoo I got done here.
Before tattoo- told the guy that the drawing was too big, he seemed annoyed but fixed it. Came back a couple minutes later with a small chunk taken off....

Before tattoo- told the guy that the drawing was too big, he seemed annoyed but fixed it. Came back a couple minutes later with a small chunk taken off. It was still too big for me but I didn't want to say anything because he was already irritated.
During tattoo- he had bad customer service and couldn't keep a conversation.. let's just say it was an awkward four hours laying on his table with my boobs out without conversation.
After- everyone asks me "what is it?" To be honest, I don't know. The line work is very uneven(uneven thickness and lines are not straight). Also, there is a random line not even on the tattoo. The drawing of the roses is purely done.
The guy told me it would look better once he finished it, but I don't want to go back to him to finish it. I feel like he ruined it already, and there is no saving it.
Pics- the top picture is what I showed him, but I told him I wanted it much less detailed and smaller. The bottom pic is what he did.

I went to Joe for years prior to his move here. All of a sudden I can't make appointments because nobody answers the phone. I am now required to drive in to pay a "deposit" for the continued work on my sleeves. When I FINALLY made contact with someone, i was told via text: "This is cody, as a rule you have to call during hours to make appointments. Its the system we have had in place for years unless it is directly pertaining to an existing appointment we dont call people back. We get hundreds of phone calls and emails. We are a very busy shop and everyone else calls or stops in during business hours. We apologize that we havent been able to get you in yet but you would still have to follow the same rules as everyone else." I was loyal to my tattoo artist. Too bad the shop knows nothing about loyalty.

I've had tattoos done by both Drew and Haley and I love them all. Personally, I find all the staff to pleasant. I have had other tattoos through other businesses and skinny Buddha is by far the best. Drew has done an amazing job with a portrait tattoo of my service dog Max I highly recommend him if you want a well-done tattoo of your pet. Both he and Haley took the time to understand what I wanted and offered advice when they felt an aspect of my idea wouldn't work. Furtherm...ore, other artists have been willing to provide input when asked. This has not been my experience at other shops. The vibe that they've created there is great. A mix of all types of music is played based on what each artist enjoys listening to and I've never felt out-of-place. Totally worth checking them out! See More

Skinny Buddha is hands down my favorite shop in Wisconsin! My favorite artist is Little Lisa however i have received great tattoos from Greg, Nate, and Zac as well. The shop is very clean and everyone that works at the shop is very friendly and professional. I'm more than willing to admit there are other good artists in the area but generally they overcharge or have a giant ego. So if you want a great tattoo from an artist that won't overcharge or that doesn't have an ego that gets in the way of their professionalism or work then Skinny Buddha is your place.

This place is amazing. It is the new generation of tattoo parlors. It is clean, and very professional. Little Lisa is an amazing artist. She takes the time to capture the real essence of the tattoo, and brings it out in her work. They also have a piercing shop with total privacy. I give it a 10 out of 10 for anyone looking for a place to go.

Best experience ever. Joe is incredibly thoughtful and fun! He let me break my relatively small/cheap tattoo into several sessions because I have a low pain tolerance. I understand that this isn't convenient for him, but he really put my comfort first!! I'll definitely be returning to him as the work is beautiful and his concern with my well being is 100% amazing. Seriously, he's going above and beyond for a simple moth tattoo. I couldn't be happier. He even gave me a lollipop after today's session.

If you look at all the artists' portfolios on their Facebook page it's easy to see that there is some amazing talent there. I particularly love Lisa's art and she did a fantastic job of creating a piece for me based off the ideas I presented her with.
Lastly, I think it's worth mentioning that when you patronize Skinny Buddha you're patronizing a business that gives back. Lisa is incredibly active in volunteering and rescuing animals in need and gives a lot of her time and energy towards these projects. I feel good knowing that I'm giving my money over to someone not only talented and passionate for her job, but also kind to and passionate about animals.

Skinny Buddha has the best artists out of any shop I’ve been to.. I’ve had 95% of my tattoos done at Skinny Buddha and I am always satisfied with the work that each of the artists do! Ever since I got my first tattoo here, I haven’t gone anywhere else. The shop is always clean and I love the environment that each of the artists and other customers create. I feel so comfortable and 100% trust any artist that is doing work on me. I never feel awkward when I’m getting tattooed by any of the artists, they are so welcoming and friendly. I recommend Skinny Buddha to anyone looking for suggestions for tattoo shops. The price you pay is worth the work. I always get compliments on my tattoos any time that I go out in public. All of the artists that I have worked with (Nate, Andrew & Hailey) were willing to help me decide on the perfect tattoos and provided great results each time. If there is any time that I want to die, it’s before Skinny Buddha goes out of business!

I live in Madison and have gotten 95% of my tattoos done here (and regret the other 5%).I've gotten pieces from Andrew, Nate and Hailey and all are fantastic. It's a very comfortable atmosphere and the artist will answer any and all of your questions, and put you at ease if you're nervous about anything. I'm never going to another tattoo shop, this place is it.

I had a floral line piece done by Hailey here, and she did a fantastic job. She was available to meet twice before the actual appointment, and was very attentive to detail as I explained the concept. The cost was less than originally quoted, and the tattoo itself took a larger chunk of the afternoon but Hailey was fantastic in making sure I was comfortable. I would absolutely go back, especially since their customer service in and of itself was phenomenal. Thanks guys!

When I go in to Skinny Buddha everyone has been very friendly and welcoming. I get my work done by Joe after another shop cancelled on me 5 time, twice in 1 week. Joe has a great eye on what needed to be done and every time I leave the tattoo comes more to life. He has amazing skills. Never will I go to another shop again.

Pretty unhappy with my tattoo I got done here.
Before tattoo- told the guy that the drawing was too big, he seemed annoyed but fixed it. Came back a couple minutes later with a small chunk taken off....

Before tattoo- told the guy that the drawing was too big, he seemed annoyed but fixed it. Came back a couple minutes later with a small chunk taken off. It was still too big for me but I didn't want to say anything because he was already irritated.
During tattoo- he had bad customer service and couldn't keep a conversation.. let's just say it was an awkward four hours laying on his table with my boobs out without conversation.
After- everyone asks me "what is it?" To be honest, I don't know. The line work is very uneven(uneven thickness and lines are not straight). Also, there is a random line not even on the tattoo. The drawing of the roses is purely done.
The guy told me it would look better once he finished it, but I don't want to go back to him to finish it. I feel like he ruined it already, and there is no saving it.
Pics- the top picture is what I showed him, but I told him I wanted it much less detailed and smaller. The bottom pic is what he did.

I went to Joe for years prior to his move here. All of a sudden I can't make appointments because nobody answers the phone. I am now required to drive in to pay a "deposit" for the continued work on my sleeves. When I FINALLY made contact with someone, i was told via text: "This is cody, as a rule you have to call during hours to make appointments. Its the system we have had in place for years unless it is directly pertaining to an existing appointment we dont call people back. We get hundreds of phone calls and emails. We are a very busy shop and everyone else calls or stops in during business hours. We apologize that we havent been able to get you in yet but you would still have to follow the same rules as everyone else." I was loyal to my tattoo artist. Too bad the shop knows nothing about loyalty.

Drew has done an amazing job with a portrait tattoo of my service dog Max I highly recommend him if you want a well-done tattoo of your pet. Both he and Haley took the time to understand what I wanted and offered advice when they felt an aspect of my idea wouldn't work. Furtherm...ore, other artists have been willing to provide input when asked. This has not been my experience at other shops. The vibe that they've created there is great. A mix of all types of music is played based on what each artist enjoys listening to and I've never felt out-of-place. Totally worth checking them out! See More

Skinny Buddha is hands down my favorite shop in Wisconsin! My favorite artist is Little Lisa however i have received great tattoos from Greg, Nate, and Zac as well. The shop is very clean and everyone that works at the shop is very friendly and professional. I'm more than willing to admit there are other good artists in the area but generally they overcharge or have a giant ego. So if you want a great tattoo from an artist that won't overcharge or that doesn't have an ego that gets in the way of their professionalism or work then Skinny Buddha is your place.

She takes the time to capture the real essence of the tattoo, and brings it out in her work. They also have a piercing shop with total privacy. I give it a 10 out of 10 for anyone looking for a place to go.
