I've been going to Justin for the last few years for my tattoos and I absolutely love his work! I had some ideas of what I wanted when I went in the first time and he worked with me on creating a unique piece that would look best for the location and design. He makes it a comfortable atmosphere and was willing to listen to what I wanted, but also helped me to understand what will look good and what won't. He's very easy to talk to and joke with during the session. Prices are also reasonable. If you want great quality work, you have to be willing to pay for a quality price! Justin and Kayla are amazing!! I sent Kayla some pictures of what I wanted and I showed up and had drawn up some ideas and I LOVED them. She was extremely picky on the placement and made sure it was perfect. They make sure everything is super clean and sanitary. My friend was dead set on getting a tattoo and Justin made time for her! He was amazing at drawing different versions up for her to get the best possible tattoo. His lines were the cleanest I’ve ever seen but most importantly he was a super genuine dude who just cared about giving the best tattoo possible. This was my first tattoo and I was getting a special one with my sister. We've been wanting to get a sibling tattoo for a long time and she recently got her first tattoo at this parlor. So needless to say I was very picky and nervous. Kayla was fantastic! It's a very professional shop and she's a very professional artist. Rudest service I've ever seen. Went in with a friend last weekend and Justin was condescending. He was so hung up on one aspect of the concept which made it nearly impossible to discuss further. He had nothing to show in terms of preparation despite having the tattoo scheduled a month in advance. When we left, he offered to give the deposit back only for it to never happen. When questioned, my friend was yelled at on the phone by someone else. I was going to set up finishing my own half-sleeve but the piss-poor service ruined that. Read Less

If you're looking for someone to ridicule your tattoo idea and lecture you on what you should be getting, this is the place for you! I went to Justin with a concept in mind, showed him a style he did on a prior piece that I liked, and showed him images of where I'd like the piece on my arm to go and what other images I'd like to include. Working with me to sketch something up was apparently too difficult for Justin and he proceeded to lecture me on how I need to give him a sp...ecific image to trace and that he can't just "draw something up" even though I've given him reference points and other artists (like Duff, Jonah, and Holly) have done in the past. This guy is a real tool. On top of it all, I setup my appointment for 10am and the guy doesn't show until 11am. Granted, he called and apologized but when I walked in the shop at 11am Justin was too sleepy to even greet us when we walked in seemed to be on the attack immediately. Here are some of my favorite Justin quotes from my short interaction with him: "You KINDA want your tattoo on your forearm??" "Like, you gotta give me a specific mountain, I can't just draw up a mountain" *shows him picture of 3 separate mountains* "That's a great mountain but I can't draw that and have it look like that. The one I did before had snow" After talking with him I realized that he's beyond rude and condescending so I decided to skip the tattoo. I made the appointment a month in advance (even better that he's telling me morning of he doesn't want to do my design and hasn't reached out beforehand knowing I drove from St. Paul). I told Justin he could keep the $50 deposit since I booked his time and all he could manage to say was, and I quote, "I have 50 people waiting in line for tattoos I don't need your deposit". That was the literal icing on the cake. What's funnier is that when I first booked my appointment Justin has a last minute cancellation...now I understand why the frequent cancellations occur and why the good artist like Duff, Jonah, and Holly left. Yesterday I took my brother to Midwest Tattoo, where we were greeted by Justin and proceeded to have the best tattoo experience of our inked lives, so far. My brother and I got matching shameless tattoos, the idea of which Justin found awesome and proceeded to help us make a final decision. The work was awesome! After that he touched up some work done there in the past due to rough healing and then decided to touch recolor an old and faded tattoo for me - it looks so much better now. And then as a bonus placed a small heart behind my right ear, entirely free hand! I've never been more comfortable in a tattoo shop or had such a great time with an artist. Justin Webb is the heart and soul of Midwest, and even though some of the players change (Jonah, Duff) the game remains the same. All of the artists and piercers at MW are more than qualified, very neat and clean, pricing is reasonable. You definitely get what you pay for, and you're paying for the best of the best in a 100 mile radius at the very least.
