Steve has done 4 of the 6 tattoos that I have. I am 100% satisfied with every one of them... especially the portrait of my son he did on my leg. I was very impressed with the professional manor and experience I had at Ghost Dog Tattoo in Yelm. When I showed up for my appointment Steve was ready and got right to work with very little waiting time. The place was super clean and well taken care of. When I got home I showed my wife my tattoo portrait of our dog that Steve did and she immediately said "He captured Buddy's (our dog) personality", I have other portraits but none of them look as good as the one I just got from Ghost Dog. Quick, clean and affordable. They were sure that the spelling on my tattoo was correct, and lined up the one on my wrist multiple times with my mid finger, wrist and elbow. Also fixed a tattoo on my finger that wasn't the best and even a little off. They were super quick to me because they were much quicker than the 2 other places I've been which saves you if you're paying hourly, and they still did an amazing job, lines were great. Steve is awesome, don't get me wrong. If this was a review for just Steve I would give him 5 stars without a doubt. However, he hired some new guy to work the counter and I payed 45$ to have my tattoo drawn up 2 months ago and just went in there for the guy at the counter to tell me it was an appointment I actually made and what I wanted drawn up was thrown in the trash. Why would I make an appointment to get a tattoo I haven't even seen get drawn up yet? If you go in here to get a tattoo, I would advise asking to maybe set your whole thing up with Steve instead of whoever the new guy is at the front counter. Steve has hooked me up before and he is a really nice guy, which is why instead of getting mad at the guy at the counter I just decided to leave and take my buisness elsewhere. It is a shame because Steve is a great tattoo artist and a good guy, and I planned on getting alot more ink done by him but after being what I would consider a decent customer this guy at the front counter just says "Yeah it's in the trash" if Steve wasn't such a good guy I would've flipped out on whoever that guy is at the front counter, I chose not to however as Steve was tattooing someone in the back and I didn't wanto disturb his buisness as he has always been a good guy to me. Hopefully your experience is different and hope this helps whoever reads this, and I'd like to add Steve fixed one of my tats once and then did a piece on my arm of a skeleton leaning against a flag pole, and both of those times I went in and just dealt with Steve or his Wife to set things up or get work done is absolutely a 5 star review. Up until this point, I planned on never going anywhere else for a tattoo, but after whoever the guy was at the counter basically told me to go screw myself, I'll be going elsewhere. I asked on a Facebook page for the name of a good tattoo parlor, and 40 out of 48 people said to go to Cody at Ghost Dog, so naturally that's where we went. We were seen by Cody, and were in and out in an hour with 3 great tattoos and a touch up on my other tattoo. I am so glad that we went with him instead of any other tattoo parlor!! Got tattooed by Cody yesterday. I knew what to expect as far as quality of work since I've been following Cody's work for a while, and he did an excellent job on my tattoo. They had Game of Thrones on instead of loud music as I'm used to at other shops, which, even though I don't watch the show, it helped me relax and zone out while getting worked on. The machines they use are much quieter than I'm used to (I think he said it was a rotary machine) so that was another welcome surprise and helped me relax much more easily than loud buzzing. This shop is a treasure in Yelm. Ryan is my artist and he is amazing. My choice in tattoos are always intricate Celtics, and Ryan does a great job of reimagining them into a tattooable piece of art. The guys are friendly, the shop is very clean, and their skill is off the charts. I have completed one piece and have two more lined up. Steve did an amazing job. He was courteous , and straight forward about pricing. I came in wanting some Palm trees on my arm but I didn't have a clear design in mind. Steve said no problem and quoted me what I though was a fair price. I came back in my apt day and was surprised he didn't have a stencil for me to see. Instead he started free hand sketching it on my arm. I was pretty nervous but once we started filling it in I could totally tell he knew what he was doing. It looks amazing.
