Jake is hella cool. He is a real ass dude. He talked to me the whole time through my piercing process and we talked about some deep stuff. He is legit awesome and very straight forward. I got my nose pierced by him today with a stud for 60$. My piercing hurt a little but of course its going to hurt because you are being poked. Lol.The price is fair. Came here for an eyebrow piercing today and was extremely pleased. I have 12 other piercings and this is easily one of the nicest shops I've been to. The shop was extremely clean and nice looking, and Jake was very professional and friendly. He changed gloves multiple times throughout the procedure which is always a good sign. Pricing is very good, similar to other shops, definitely on the lower side for the location (paid $60 for an eyebrow piercing, piercing soap and saline which you normally have to buy separately were included). I went in to North Cove on April 10th to get my upper ear lobe pierced. I immediately felt comfortable with Jake. The metal he uses is medical grade along with the cleaners to use while it heals. In the last few weeks he has been generous with the supplies once I used what I had. In the near future I'm going to have him put more piercings in my ear. No B.S... I am extremely critical of customer service venues. Jake was fantastic. I was pretty nervous because I read getting certain piercings redone would be more painful due to scar tissue and my pain tolerance is extremely low. Honestly, I'm floored at how well this went. I'm very happy and pleased with my piercings. The office was clean and organized. He put new gloves on every time he went to a drawer to get another prep item, or different sized piercing, etc. He took his time cleaning and measuring, but the piercing itself was so fast - it made the pain minimal, to say the least. Things to note: 1) It's a walk-in friendly environment, so be patient and he'll get to you. 2) Cash Only - stop at the Wells Fargo right next door. The owner, Jake, and I had communicated several months prior to my daughter's septum piercing. His insurance covers 15 years and older, so I decided to wait due to my confidence in this shop based on numerous reviews and the owner's making me feel comfortable via messages. I believe that my instincts were correct when piercing day arrived in early September 2017. The piercing process was quick, sterile and professional. However, my teenager said that she felt dizzy, followed by going limp on the doctor's-looking chair/bench. I completely freaked out on one side of my daughter, yet Jake was on the other side of her assuring me that she is fine and that it will pass. When my daughter came to moments later, which seemed like much more time had passed, Jake gave her cold water behind her neck while lying down and a granola bar to raise her blood sugar. I was immediately told by my daughter that she did not eat during school, she had on a hoody in 80-degree weather and she felt anxious before, during and after the piercing process. I'm writing my first yelp review ever just because I had to let people know what a good experience I had here! I got my tragus pierced and was pretty nervous, but the piercer was friendly and engaged my boyfriend and I in conversation right away, made us laugh and in general was a super cool guy. I have 3 lobe piercings and my nose and helix pierced, and this was the most comfortable I've been getting a piercing so far. The tragus piercing was actually way less painful than the helix, which I got at a different shop. He took his time making sure the placement was right, then worked incredibly quickly to do the actual piercing. It was obviously painful but no more so than it had to be, haha. You could tell he really knew what he was doing. The price is fair too, I paid $60 for the piercing, stud, and two small bottles of soap and saline solution for cleaning. This is a guy who wants you to have success with your body jewelry. I first had Jake do my eyebrow when I was still in high school. I remember the process and how he spent so much time making sure his marks were on point. The process was easy and I remember writing his name down if I wanted anything else done. Half a year later I found myself in trouble and in a facility with a no body jewelry policy. Coming back to see him in his own shop was great and we did the process ove...r. Didn't take as long though because I wanted it in the same spot and had the tiny scars to mark it. I remember him stopping me to hand me a wound spray and an antimicrobe soap which I must say, proved their worth. I asked him why he gave this out and he said "so if there's and issue, people don't turn to the internet for bad alternatives." At first my friends and I were a little skeptical about getting our nose pierced here because we had called and he didn't answer the phone. But .....I am SOOO happy we ended up just showing up and giving this place a try. The piercer (I forget his name) was so hilarious and made us feel so comfortable. His pricing was fair especially because he gives a complimentary soap to clean your piercing. Everything seemed super clean so that was great! I've had my nose pierced two times before this time and this was the least painful experience I've had (although it doesn't hurt much to begin with). I would highly recommend this piercing studio. I have never been pierced with a needle (my ears are pierced from when I was little) and I was very scared because I am terrible with needles. When I walked in, he was very knowledgeable and very clean. I told him I get woozy when I get near needles and he said he understood that. I got my nose pierced and the entire time he talked to me about a concert I was going to because it helps me to talk about other things and he distracted me so well I didn't even feel the needle through my nose. After, I got VERY lightheaded and nauseous and he gave me a water bottle to put on the back of my neck, had me lay down, and got me some almonds to eat and a granola bar and I was feeling better in no time. He gave me cleaning supplies at no extra cost and was very helpful and friendly, and obviously has a lot of experience. I would highly recommend! Best piercing studio ever, i used to go to lindas piercing in puyallup but this guy is better. Very clean, professional (feels and looks like you are in a doctors office, which is a relief when getting pierced) i had a septum piercing done yesterday, it is not crooked at all (a common problem with septum piercings) and is healing rather well in the first day. If only i had known about Jake when i had my navel and nose stud piercings done at lindas, i would have gone to him instead! my only thoughts are, what am i gonna pierce next, now that i found the best piercer in pierce county. Jake was highly recommended by someone at House of Tattoo Inc. I pulled North Cove up on Yelp and found 52 five-star reviews. Not one negative review-not even any "meh" ratings-which is pretty interesting considering everyone's a critic these days so I was sold. So here I am with another well-deserved glowing review. Jake was friendly and easy to talk to without sacrificing any professionalism. I went to get one nipple pierced. Exposing one's breast to a total stranger can be a little nerve-wracking but he was incredibly professional and made me feel very comfortable. He didn't have an issue when I asked to double check his markings to ensure they were even...in fact, he encouraged it. When he finished marking and we were ready to pierce, he noticed it was off because he called my nipple a "grower, not a shower" (LOL) and marked it again. The piercing itself was very fast and relatively painless (all things considered).Two notable mentions about his aftercare instructions that I liked: they were simple (he didn't hand me four pages worth of paperwork to take home and study) and he included everything I would need to take care of it at no additional cost. He went above and beyond when I started to feel woozy (all that adrenaline right before getting a piercing makes me feel dizzy afterward) when he pulled out a chair for me to put my legs up on as well as grabbed two water bottles (one to put on the back of my neck and another to drink). Fast forward to now (three weeks later), and my piercing is awesome. I've had no issue and that is saying a lot because every. piercing. I. have. ever. had. has been hell during the healing process just because of the pain and frustration of "when will this stop hurting?"...that is not the case with my nipple. It has been very easy to care for and not once has it bothered me. Even the day after I got it pierced, the tenderness was quite manageable. The only tip I have is to bring cash as the shop is cash only. Highly recommend coming here to get your nipples pierced because I couldn't ask for a better experience with Jake! Right off the bat the shop is very clean! The smell of the shop reminded me of a dentist office since it was so clean and no rubbing alcohol smells like at other piercing shops. No distracting pictures and the decor was very simple. Jake is an all around awesome piercer- just what you'd want from a dude getting up close and personal with your nips. My friend & I came to have ours done together and he totally put us at ease with honest answers about pain and "dorky uncle" jokes. He also sent us home with a bottle of antibacterial soap each and completely clear instructions. Loved my experience at north cove. The owner/piecer was super cool. He made the experience enjoyable with constant but genuine conversation. Very clean and sterile the whole time. I noticed him cleaning everything after he pierced my nose. He gave me great tips (most places don't) on how to care and clean for my piercing. He even gave me a cleaning solution.
