TATTOOS: I watched my husband get a half sleeve done by Bonnie and it finally gave me the courage to start my own half sleeve. We both have smaller pieces done by Bonnie but I didn't know if I was ready for the commitment to a big piece. My husband's half sleeve is absolutely gorgeous. For more than a decade I've been contemplating a back piece. I've seen a lot of artists and been to a lot of shops but nothing ever resonated with me.  In November I stumbled upon Mom's after reading more tattoo shop reviews than I care to admit. I decided to pop on in without an appointment to thumb through portfolios and check out the space. It's quite beautiful, a cross between art gallery and tattoo shop. After a chance meeting with Bonnie, I knew this was the artist and place I had been hoping to find for so long. Mom's is squeaky clean. The staff are friendly, professional and always willing to help make things more comfortable.  Additionally, I can't say enough good things about Bonnie. I heard about Mom's from a friend who had work done in the shop. I went in to take a look through the portfolios of the different artists there about a half hour before close. The front desk was friendly, and after seeing a lot of work I liked, I had a consultation and booked with Bonnie. The day of my appointment, I was welcomed walking in, and presented with an incredibly sanitary setup and a freshly wiped down chair waiting for me. The entire process went well, Bonnie answered the few questions I had, and she started. I came in with a pretty simple idea, and Bonnie really brought it to life!She isn't unnecessarily heavy handed while tattooing, which I appreciated. Very professional and friendly the entire time. I got my nipples pierced by Nathan last year and I just took them out due to them being horribly uneven...(I had to wait for them to not be infected to take them out) I really liked them at first then I started noticing how they bars weren't even sitting right on my nipple, I now have little scars and I can tell from them now how badly they were placed. I'm not saying the whole shop is bad but just that piercer specifically. I also hate to be "that person" who writes a bad yelp review but I spent a lot of money and invested time and what happened to me sucked and I hope I can help someone else. Read Less

Bought septum jewelry from Nathan here about two years ago and it was the wrong size. I've visited the shop about five time and been told they'll get back to me each time. Not once has that happened. I love this place. My 5 year old begged to get her ears pierced back in May and I researched different places and this place came highly recommended. I love how they walked my daughter through the whole process prior to her piercing appointment. I loved how sterile everything was and how kind they were to my daughter. Got my nose pierced today and it was a pleasant experience. I had my nose pierced prior (over 10 years ago) and this place is way more intense on cleaning and sanitizing the skin and area. Shandra pierced my nose and made it minimally painful. Gave me breathing and mindful exercises beforehand to get my mind off the piercing. She listened to my concerns on placement and was very clear and specific on post care instructions which I appreciate. The shop itself is very clean and tidy. For claiming to have the largest selection of piercing jewelry in town, they don't carry simple stainless steel captive beaded rings.  I would understand if I was asking for a really large gauge.  But I was disappointed and shocked that they did not have an 8 gauge stainless steel ring.   Any decent piercing shop should have 18-2 gauge in both barbells and rings.  Kind of a let down.  I took my business elsewhere.  I shouldn't have to special order a standard size ring. I get most of my nose jewelry from here (septum, studs) the quality is top notch, simple silver is $20+ and rose gold, gold is $100+, it's on the more expensive side of things but completely worth it and it's not plated or spayed or fake, nothing rust or jewels don't fall out either. Love this shop. Will definitely be coming back here again. First, extremely clean, the piercers are certified by the Association of Professional Piercers. My piercer was Shandra and she was awesome. Talked me through the whole process, answered all my questions, and was completely relaxed the entire time. Nathan pierced my cousins and my nipples, he was extremely patient with our anxious, dramatic, and erratic behavior leading up to the piercings. He completely calmed our nerves by being a counselor, professional, and educator all at the same time. The atmosphere in Mom's Custom Tattoo & Body Piercing was calming and welcoming, unlike some tattoo parlors you walk into. The room he executed the piercings in was orderly, clean, and the manner in which he did the piercing made the piercing itself go much smoother than anticipated. Tattoo: I have had a tattoo done by Beth. It was my second one, and I will never go anywhere else. My husband and I both go to Mom's for any ink we want done and recommend her to anyone interested! Mom's is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. She has an amazing eye for detail. My tattoo, a peacock on my back, is perfectly placed to contour with the shape of my back and hips. She is great about making gentle suggestions that I hadn't thought of( my artistic eye is very limited) to make my tattoo everything I had wanted. Her studio is extremely comfortable. I was able to choose something to watch on TV or listen to music while she was working on me. She has a great personality and is just a great person to talk to which is important considering how much time you can spend with a tattoo artist. She has a lifetime customer with my husband and me.Piercing: I had my nose pierced by Shandra and my ears stretched as well. Shandra has a great eye for placement when it came to my nose piercing. I had it pierced once before and was unhappy with the placement from the OTHER place I went so I had taken it out. She could see what I was unhappy about (she could see the old piercing) and was able to get it in a great spot for my nose (finally). The piercing was easy breezy and she is extremely knowledgeable about aftercare and all the questions I had. She was extremely nice when the weeks to follow I would call or come in and ask her a question about my piercing/stretching. I am already planning my next piercings and I know that Shandra will be the one I go to see.They were also able to convert me to their jewelry and I am a believer! You have to go in and at least LOOK at their selection. I had always bought jewelry from the mall, and after the education I was able to get from Shandra and Beth, I will never EVER buy jewelry from the scary cheap retailer around Spokane. You can tell their main objective is for their clients to be happy which also means HEALTHY. The jewelry selection is not only beautiful and extremely high quality, but the material it is made with is all actually safe to be in your body for long amounts of time. I was shocked to learn that most of the cheap jewelry around town can be harmful to your body.
