I brought my sister here, who is visiting from out of town for a simple lobe piercing since hers had closed up many years ago and she said nothing but trouble since then. ((No more mall piercings!)) pierced hearts charges $20 per ear lobe piercing, and made it relatively painless. She then purchased some high-grade titanium jewelry, and after care kit. Came here just for an adjustment for my nose ring that was put on weird at a different piercing shop! Joey did the adjustment for me! He was super nice and was great about communicating what he was doing and what it would feel like on my nose! He fixed the ring so it was more comfortable in my nose for free! I had scheduled to get my piercing done a week out from the day I got it, but excitement got the better of me and decided to get it done sooner. I had a bad experience with another piercing parlor (Laughing Buddha) so was really diligent with reading a bunch of reviews. I got my conch pierced by Jeremy and he was professional and walked me through what he was going to do! Told it how it is and listened to what I was looking for. After getting my first lobes painfully pierced at Claire's with a gun, and my second lobes also painfully done by a very unprofessional piercer, I thought that getting a helix piercing would be death on the pain scale. I cannot speak to the actual piercing services here yet but this review is based on customer service and knowledge of the staff. My 7 year old needs one of her ears re-pierced, her hole closed and she's been getting a re-occuring infection. We stopped in to see if they had an opening, after talking with the person at the front desk one of the piercers came over. They immediately identified that the piercing still looked irritated and advised that they couldn't re-pierce yet. They were really sweet to my highly anxious 7 year old and advised that they could do the other side but didn't recommend it since it usually made kids more anxious. We decided to come back when her ear was totally better. Over the next 2+ months we made multiple appointments to try and re-pierce her ear. Each time we'd think her ear was getting better and then a day or 2 before the appointment notice it was red again. I'd call and reschedule for the next week. They never got frustrated or complained about this - instead they thanked us every time for rescheduling so they knew we weren't coming in advance. We also stopped in a few times without an appointment just in case they thought it was better enough - it wasn't but they were always very kind in person, asking what we'd tried to get rid of the irritation (multiple rounds of oral & topical antibiotics & antifungals), they also made some suggestions and observations of what they thought might be going on and some suggestions to take to her Dr.We're still playing the waiting game with the 7 year olds piercing but we'll definitely be coming here when it FINALLY heals. As a disclaimer, I did not have work done here.  I attempted to, but the door was shut in my face before I could get a consultation.  I emailed the shop to try and get a correction done on a back tattoo. I stated my original artist was not going in the right direction and I didn't want to continue with getting something I wasn't happy with. (This tattoo is only in its beginning stages)  I got an automated response stating the shop checks and replies to these emails as often and swiftly as possible. I waited a day, no response. When I followed up. I got a pretty blunt "F*** You." (Again, I hadn't even gone into the shop to have someone talk about WHAT I wanted to do moving forward) "All of our artists haven't had a chance to take a look yet but those who have aren't interested in taking on your project at this time. A place with great customer service when you walk in, great prices (see on the website), and great customer service when you leave? I mean, jeez... that's rare, especially given I walked in dressed like a slouch, but one that looks more like an LL Bean slouch than one from Georgetown. But, they still treated me like any other pierced, tattooed person that might come in despite possibly wondering if I was in the wrong place. So, A+ for that, or as someone cooler might say, "Right on." (Do people still say that? That's a west coast thing, right? We don't say it back east.) Second, the dude warned me of the walk-in penalty: a wait, but kept me abreast of the wait, and walked me through the process. Then, the piercer gave me feedback and made me alter my plans a bit based on his experience. And, then he shoved a needle through my ear while warning me of everything every step of the way, then handing me back to the dude that originally checked me in. Smooth process. Little pain, even though they warned of some. And, so, despite my curiosity about the tipping in this industry, I left 30% on my card for the guy(s) for having given me such a good experience. A timely story about consent.My daughter turned 7 yesterday. She wanted to get her ears pierced for her birthday. We've always told her it was up to her if and when she did it. We went to Pierced Hearts because it's more hygienic and safe. They walked her through the process. They only talked to her. They asked her each step of the way whether or not she wanted to proceed. Told her this was her decision and her decision alone. The man doing it, Joey, was so so kind and patient."Can I put the clamp on your ear?" "Yes." "Can I line up the piercing needle?" "Yes." "Can I do it?" A little breathless, "yes," emitted my daughter's voice. "Take a deep breath." *Pierce* She claimed it didn't hurt. She wanted to take a few breaths before the second one. "Can I put the clamp on your ear?" "Yes." "Can I line up the piercing needle?" "Yes." "Are you ready?" "No." "Okay, that's fine. We can wait. I don't want you to do anything you don't want to do. I want this to be a good experience for you. It's okay if you walk out with one. It's your decision."We talked for about 5 more minutes. She was still nervous. Joey finally said, "I told you it wouldn't hurt much, but now your adrenaline is waning and it probably will hurt if I do it now. I want to tell you the truth. I think it would be probably better if you didn't do it right now. It's okay. You can just get one. You can come back tomorrow or in six months or two years, or never. It's up to you." Today i got a double nostril piercing on the same side done by Jeremy. He recognized me because i've been there several times so it was nice to see they remember their regulars. I've been to this shop for both sets of my ear lobe piercings. And I can't recommend them highly enough! This has been a place where I have felt empowered, respected, treated with dignity, and like I was in charge of my body and my choices. It's awesome. I remember my experience being very similar a couple years ago, but since yesterday is more fresh in my mind, I wanted to talk about that experience. Informed consent was part of every step in the process. Joey told me what would be coming next, asked for my permission for every step, explained what he was doing and why, and reminded me multiple times that I could opt out, tell him to stop, or take whatever time I wanted/needed and that I was the boss in the process. I was sitting there thinking, "Why is consent so hard for so many to understand??" Like I understand that this was absolutely part of his job. And yet it was really cool to be treated with such respect and dignity, like I was the owner and decision maker for my body. Women don't get that all the time in our society. It was really empowering to be treated this way. I appreciated it so much. I was trying to get a tattoo on short notice on a Saturday, and had called several tattoo shops around Seattle. I dropped by Pierced Hearts to see if they could accommodate me. Chris, the artist I ended up working with, listened to me explain my design and was honest about his comfort with doing that type of work. He told me they had other artists who had more experience with the type of thing I wanted, but that he'd be happy to do it; he just wanted a bit of time to work up the design, since, though it was fairly simple, it was not quite what he usually did. He offered to make an appointment for the following day. I appreciated his honesty and direct communication. He was great to work with! He was open to hearing what I wanted and tactful about giving his professional suggestions. The piece turned out better than I'd hoped. The best experience ever! Made an appointment to get my nipples pierced about three days in advance. The check in process was straightforward and thorough and my piercer, Joey, was super experienced and knowledgeable. All really helpful for one of the more nerve-wracking piercings. The procedure itself was quick and (relatively) painless and surprisingly not awkward, even while topless with a stranger. He also answered all my questions and instilled a lot of trust by asking that I see him directly for any follow ups since he was the one who did the piercing.Literally could not have gone better! This is the place to go get pierced if you have a needle phobia and Chuck is your gal. She put me at ease right away and was all-business about her work. Everything that came in contact with my body was meticulously clean, even down to the Sharpie pen that was used to mark where the piercing went - she used a new one and sent it home with me.Aftercare instructions were included with the goodie bag I was sent home with and she asked that I call if I ran into any issues or questions after the fact.I will be back! Jeremy did my daith piercing, and I really couldn't be happier with the placement. The studio is very clean, obviously, and everyone who works there is helpful. I wanted to buy a new post for my old tragus piercing (which had an awful little hoop in it to keep it from closing) and he went ahead and changed it out for me. We brought our 15-year-old a for a (much!) requested nostril piercing. I called before coming in to make sure there wouldn't be a long wait and was able to snag an immediate appointment. Although some time slots were booked, there seemed to be plenty of availability for a piercing (I can't speak to the tattoo schedule). From the moment we walked in until the moment we left the customer service, advice, and service we received was impeccable. The facility is very clean and has a great philosophy when it comes to providing piercings to kids. Even though our daughter had been asking to get her nose pierced for two years, she began to feel nervous before her piercing. I have had several tattoo from folks employed here. And bought lots of good jewelry that still on great condition. While buying I've also seen them check ID for underage, talk to a tattoo suportive parent about openly while including the teen in convo for explicit consent and understanding (was so impressed), be kind to folks nerves, say no to a drunk person, and just generally hold good space, boundaries, and ethics. They are also so down to earth and reps always talk candid...ly and honestly. They do good research, employ good people, talk upfront, and have excellent consent culture. They take time to educate folks and dont over sell or bs you, and their artists didn't seem stressed to be there (this is a big deal to me, don't know about you, but want employees treated right). I just did my fourth sitting with Alan.  The first time Alan covered an old tattoo from my Navy days that I was never happy with.  He did an amazing job hiding the tattoo in the nose of the tiger.  My second sitting added rope underneath.  A few months ago I went back again and Alan did a Varga-style pinup girl on my right arm.  This week, I went back and Alan did an awesome Blue Crab on my wrist in American Traditional style.Alan does great work.  Probably one of the best portrait/black and gray artists in the area.  He will continue to do all my ink! My wife and I happened upon this studio on their second day of business years back when looking for a place that could pierce me. I was impressed immediately by the welcoming environment and the care that my piercer, Chuck, took in the whole process. While i was there, she must have used 5 pair of gloves, switching each time she touched something that could potentially cause contamination. She was gentle, knowledgeable, and professional. I was very pleased with my experience. Both my wife and i have since become regulars at Pierces Hearts, getting everything from from full sleeve tattoos to jewelry to dermal piercings.
