This place is the real deal. It had been a decade since I had last been tattooed, but I have had an idea in mind for that entire time for a half sleeve piece. I hadn't gotten the work done because I wanted to wait and find an artist that I trusted with my idea, but who would also bring their own skill and originality to the table. While looking at artists for a piece that she wanted, my wife found Heidi at FFOM and we made an appointment for a consultation. My wife's piece turned out AMAZING, so I couldn't wait to get mine done. My half sleeve took four sessions, but each session was amazing and the result is truly a work of art. I live an hour and a half away from this shop, but the drive was oh so worth it.Heidi is truly amazing and I would recommend her to anyone who wants to have an original and unique piece put on their body. My brother bought me a tattoo for my eighteenth birthday, so we went here because it was close to a very good pizza place. I walked in wanting a simple silhouette of a cat, but while I was talking to Chris at the front desk, I saw a very cool picture of an angry black cat and decided to ask him if I could do one inspired by that instead, and he very happily obliged. I asked him to slightly adapt it to memorialize a beautiful kitty of mine that passed over the summer. while he was doing the tattoo my brother and I told him about the cat, Harley, and also showed a few pictures. The final product showed he had listened and observed the pictures very closely. The tattoo looks kick@$$ and perfectly embodies my cat's personality. Chris is incredibly funny and very good at interpretation of what people want. If and when I get my second tattoo there is little chance I will go anywhere else, as I thoroughly enjoyed the oddly comforting nature of the parlor. Also, Chris gave me a free shirt at the end of the session with a Japanese creature that wards off toxic people. I cannot recommend this place more. Read Less

FFOM is awesome! Came upon them after an appointment gone wrong at another shop and I have to say I'm so glad I found this shop and Megon. I came to her to start a sleeve and not only was she super friendly but she was also very thorough in getting each detail of what I wanted incorporated into my sleeve (which is already a pain because there is a large cover up that needs to be done as well.) I just got the outline done yesterday and... damn. It's beautiful. I have already gotten compliments on it and we haven't even began to color or shade it! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I walked into ffom several months ago and met Myles. We chatted about my vision and he meticulously drew out what I was envisioning, making changes as they came along. I kid you not, every time I walked in randomly to check on the status, Myles was sitting there working on my piece. Any doubt or concern I may have had was quickly extinguished. When the day came to actually put ink to skin, the professionalism and concern for my happiness was unparalleled and genuine. I sat there for quite some hours, all the while completely comfortable with my surroundings, the staff, and the professionalism and cleanliness. Would I recommend fist full of metal? I don't know why you would go anywhere else. They have a customer for life, and I will be happy to send clients they're way. My friend and I had been planning on getting tattoos together for a year. I was lucky enough to get Chris as my artist. He was super patient, since the picture of the idea of what I wanted wasn't saved to my phone like I thought it was. Fast forward a few minutes, and I find the basic idea. I'm a proud cat lady, so I wanted long haired and short haired cat silhouettes with their tails coming together in a heart. He went to draw it up and came back with the most perfect drawing! Exactly what I wanted, better even! I'm so impressed with these guys! My friends artist, Khalil, was awesome too. The shop is immaculate, the artists are professional, but have a sense of humor, and they're (from what I can tell) animal lovers like myself. I'm already planning my next tattoo. I ended up coming to this shop when I first moved to Seattle with my buddy to get his first tattoo from Megan. While here I ended up seeing this painting hanging up that I thought would look perfect on my arm in between some of my other tattoos. I was talking to the guy behind the counter and he told me that Khalil this guy that was in the middle of a tattoo was the one that painted it. After he finish his tattoo I started asking him about the painting, after talking to him a little bit I asked him if he felt like tattooing it on me (it was like 930pm). He got super stoked about doing it and I sat down and we pounded it out in a little over an hour and a half. Khalil is amazing! All of my friends have gone here for their tattoos so I gave into the hype and was pleasantly surprised. I was worried that my tattoo would be slightly off because it was a recreation of a calvin and hobbes scene, but Khalil did not disappoint to the slightest. Never had any work done here, though I would have liked to. Except the owner decided to critize the tattoo I already had done instead of help me clean my design for the idea I had brought to him. I didn't ask for his opinion on the tattoos I already had, I came to him to help with my next one - totally lost my business by being critical (and not in a constructive way) and unapproachable. You are never as cool as you think you are- your store says "world class tattoos" because you put it there, not because your anything exceptional. As far as I'm concerned, actions speak louder than words.. try being a bit more personable. It'll get you much further. Read Less

Fist Full of Metal in Greenwood is, as many have said already, the most judgement-free tattoo shop in Seattle. Not only are they very kind and patient, they also have a very calm and friendly atmosphere. On to art.  I chose Khalil Linane, after seeing some of his amazing cover-up work. I have not been disappointed.  Just yesterday, we put in an 8-hr shading session. These guys will go above and beyond your expectations, I guarantee you'll leave with a very positive impression. 5/5. While I'm not generally a follower, I'd say Quincy J.'s comments are spot on. This is clearly a douche-free tattoo shop, which seems to be quite rare in Seattle.After having stalked the shop via facebook and their website I walked in with no appointment.  I knew wanted a phrase on my wrist with maybe an accent or two but was not sure of a font.  I met Megon, who listened to me ramble then took a few minutes to sketch out her interpretation of my idea-and it was perfection.  I was so pleased with the results I will be returning to her to design my shoulder piece, and referring as many people to this amazing shop as I possibly can. I have been in  many tattoo shops in Seattle, and generally you hear 'oh, that artist has a 1 yr wait list' or 'the artist's minimum is $150'. Or they take the attitude that you are either not cool enough, or tattooed enough for them to grace you with their presence. They are just standoffish.  To which I say, 'get over yourself'.  This shop has taken the genius approach of being customer friendly! They offer monthly $80 specials ($80 is also the shop minimum, more than fair) which is the perfect way to get your work out there. It's been less than 24 hours since my visit, and I've already referred 3 people to her. I cannot say enough about the vibe of this place. Go there! The work AND the atmosphere are stellar! Read Less

I gave them my design of what I wanted and he sketched up what he thought would look good on me. I couldn't be happier on how it turned out. These guys were the most relaxed, outgoing, open minded tattoo shop I've ever been to! Loved them! Ask for Megon or Ego especially! They are busy but will always make time to talk to you and ease your mind if you have fears or provide information if you're confused. This is a supportive and pressure free shop especially when making such a big decision. I live right up the street from this shop and heard that it had recently opened up so walked down with my wife just to check it out. I have been planning on getting a new tattoo for some time now and knew what I wanted but didn't plan on getting it until after the first of the year. I have checked out many shops in the area just to get a feel of the artists and find one that connected with me and someone I felt comfortable with sitting through many sessions for my 3/4 sleeve I've been planning out. The moment we walked in we were greeted warmly by Chris and Khalil and they made us feel welcome and comfortable which is unfortunately rare to find in the tattoo world. Im used to most shops being somewhat intimidating and the artists standoffish and sort of self righteous. I started talking with Chris about my ideas (which is a traditional Japanese style koi 3/4 sleeve) and he was extremely informative and helpful in talking about placement, colors, shape, size, etc. You could tell he is extremely passionate about what he does and really enjoys engaging  with his clients in a professional but friendly manner. After talking with him for about 30 min I knew that he was the artist for me. He traced my arm to get the size and muscle shape to make that tattoo flow naturally. I put down my deposit and he said he would call me in a few days once he is done with the drawing. These guys are awesome, and I recommend anyone who is interested in getting some work done to check these guys out. They keep it real, and aren't pushy at all. They take the time to listen to your ideas and give you the input to make an informative decision about what you want.
