I was a walk-in coming in for my first tattoo and I got all the help I needed when it came to design, placement, size, etc. from literally every one of the members of the staff. My artist was Ping (@inkprick on insta, seriously talented in multiple styles, check her out) she definitely took care of me by making sure we were both on the same page on what I wanted the end result to be. I appreciated the patience-- it was my first time getting a tattoo, so communicating what I wanted was a little difficult on my end, P made that a nonissue as she was patient and understanding. Super talented, enthusiastic to help me develop ideas and made sure that not only her creativity would be sparked, but mine as well. All around great experience. Thanks Ping!

Henry James is very rude, condescending and treated me like I was an idiot. I don’t want to go into detail, but I had horrible anxiety because of him when I left. And the prices here are ridiculous for something small and simple. Ended up not getting the tattoo, because I didn’t feel comfortable with him anymore.
Edit: So, because the “owner” wants to act like they were there when I was being treated poorly, I was simply trying to convey my ideas, and almost every idea I had, Henry would give me attitude about it, and basically act like it was a stupid idea(which I am the customer, even if you thinks it’s dumb, try to give me some constructive criticism in a nice way). Then after the first picture it wasn’t exactly what I wanted so I asked him to just tweak something small, and that posed him off because I didn’t want to just hop in his chair and get it tattooed. And then when I came back to see the next sketch, it was the EXACT drawing from the picture I showed him that was just supposed to be inspiration for my tattoo. And then said in a VERY condescending tone “this is what you wanted, isn’t it?” And it wasn’t obviously cause I didn’t want the exact picture, but because I already paid I wanted to just get it done. But, as I waited for him to get ready, he talked to other customers for like 15min (wasting my time that I’m paying $120 an hour for), I watched him very slowly set up all the equipment(literally took his sweet time, wasting my money and not caring). And then when he went to shave the small part on my arm where I was getting tattooed, he pulled an uncovered razor from a drawer and shaved my arm with it (I was scared of getting an infection from this). And when he put the stencil on, I simply asked him I wanted it about 1cm from where he put it. And he then argued with me saying it would look “stupid” how I wanted it. Then when I was trying to explain why I wanted to move it he LITERALLY cut me off while I, THE CUSTOMER, was speaking and said in an aggressive tone “do you want me to move it, yes or no.” And of course I said yes, then he laughed in a mocking way at me and began to remove the stencil. At that point I no longer felt safe or comfortable going through with this tattoo with him. My anxiety was sky high from the way he talked and treated me. So I then excused myself and went home, I was able to get my deposit back. And, about a week later my mother was supposed to get a tattoo there, and also look at a sketch done by Henry. And what happened when she got there was, Henry gave her the deposit back for her tattoo and said “I don’t want another bad review” and sent her on her way. Incredibly unprofessional and doesn’t care about his clients, and I’m disappointed that after the owner saw this they had the nerve to comment under it that I don’t know what happened to me at that shop. Instead of trying to justify your employees bad decisions and terrible customer service, maybe you should apologize to me and flak with your employee about not being rude to people paying you for a service!

I've gotten 3/5 tattoos done by Sam Victoria. She is super sweet, she makes sure you're comfortable and she is great at bouncing ideas back and forth. I go there with a bit of an idea about what I want and she helps with picking out/designing something that is way better than i thought. She always double checks to make sure you like where it is and what it is. Her work is amazing, I always get the most compliments on tattoos done by her. Which I think is the most satisfactory way to get tattooed. All in all I let the artist make the call, they know what looks best. Also the shop looks cool and has a good vibe.

Called us names because we had questions about some ink bleeding in her work, and refused to do a touch up. This shop is a joke! The owner stood by and watched her call us "ass holes" and when asked why we can't get a touch up she said "I don't have to explain myself to you!" Now I have an ugly piece of work on my body that I will have to pay a real artist to fix. Worst experience in my life! I've spent Thousands on quality work and this place will NEVER see another penny from me!

This place has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I am a heavily tattooed person who has spent thousands of dollars on beautiful work that I am so proud of. Found this shop on a whim and decided to give it a try. All went okay but as healing was underway the ink bled into our skin, my boyfriend and I got tattooed together, both had bleeding. 3 months later we went in to see if it can be explained, and maybe fixed, immediately being hit with back lash and resistance. Poor work was done and nobody wanted to own it. NOBODY. The artist called my boyfriend and "asshole" and said she didn't have to "explain herself" to anyone. The owner stood back and watched the situation without stepping in. Wow! Just wow. Now we both have shitty pieces of work, that they refuse to fix or acknowledge , and now must pay a real professional to try and fix their mistake. Worst customer service, poor work, and bad leadership make this place a total fail.

If you're getting your first tattoo, DO NOT COME HERE. Henry shot down my idea the second I walked in. He looked disappointed to have customers and was not welcoming at all. He told me my idea wouldn't look good and then refused to stencil it on my arm when I wanted a placement change (which he recommended in the first place). He is LAZY. He told me in exact words, "I don't want to go through the trouble of stenciling it on your skin just to keep wiping it off. Look at the picture and that's how it will look on you." Tattoos are permanent and if he wanted the money, he would have been accommodating considering I wasn't asking for much. He was rude, lazy, and unprofessional. Definitely never going here again.

My experience with their piercer, Naomi, was amazing! I went in with a co-worker to get my septum done and I'm so glad we choose this place! She's so down to earth and knows what she's doing. Naomi is very informative and let's you know all the info. She's also not there to sell, but to make your experience memorable. I really appreciated that she recommends the best jewellery piece for you and doesn't push you to just pick the most expensive thing. Very humble! The next time, I get a pricing of any sort, it will have to be done by her! I trust her and recommend Naomi!

I wasn't nervous but Naomi was so calm and assuring that it really put me at ease. I will go to her for any piercing I need in the future. I got a daith piercing today on both ears with Naomi and she is just awesome! First off, my piercings look amazing and perfectly symmetrical, second, Naomi just put me at ease, she is so friendly and sweet, and last the piercing process itself went smoothly and with little pain. I got these piercings specifically because I had heard the benefits with migraines and Naomi was knowledgeable about that. I went in with the remains of a migraine and by the time I got home, the throbbing in my head and pain from the sun had lessened considerably. Very happy that I chose Ancient Arts for my latest piercings! Love!

This review is for Amanda. I had a Tattoo from four years ago one of my first and it didn't look bright anymore and no outline. She was super thorough with her work and ideas and listened to what I wanted. It's been a few months now and I love my half sleeve! I still would like to get in to get a little touch up on some areas but over all this is a great shop with people that truly care about their artwork and shop.

Had my conch pierced by Naomi! I was a walk-in and she was able to take me in right away! She was so sweet and made my experience very comfortable. I was nervous about getting my conch pierced because from what I've heard, it's one of the most painful ear piercings and that I would hear a scary pop noise. That is not true at all. I was surprised at how painless and quick it was! And there was no pop noise lol. But it's different for everyone, glad I had such a great experience!

First time I came here was on a whim, knew what I wanted to get but didn't know what font or style. Amanda was amazing and super patient with me and drew something up that I loved. The second time I went she did my friend (it was her first tattoo) and the customer service was amazing. The tattoo came out great. She listened to everything my friend wanted and suggested a few ideas that ended up being part of the tattoo. She's very reasonable with time restraints and price quotes. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend this shop and specifically Amanda as an artist.

I've been here three times. The first time I did a walk in. I got a small tattoo with a friend. The girl, Amanda, was really nice. She greeted us and squeezed us into her schedule. The tattoo took about 20-30 minutes. I was really happy with the results. The second time I came with a friend to get her first tattoo, the wait was about 30 minutes. The guy had drawn out her tattoo nicely but somehow messed it up. She was not very happy about it but nothing could really be done. The last time I came with another friend. We were told the wait would be about 30 minutes but we ended up waiting for almost an hour and a half because the other tattoo artist was on a run to get supplies. Was not happy about that. When he arrived, we were told it would take him another 30 minutes to draw out the tattoo, which was only basic lettering. The only good thing about this was that he finished the tattoo in about 15 minutes. The tattoo turned out great. But wait time was ridiculous.

This review is for Michael glasscock not the store in general. Michael had started my half sleeve tattoo a few months ago and then I ended up moving out of town. I tried contacting him several times to get my sleeve finish and he ignored me. I even called and left a message. Still nothing. When I finally did get ahold of him we schedule a time that I was in town for 4 days. I made this apt 2 weeks in advance and was sacrificing 1 of these 4 days that I could of had with my family to get this finished. 3 hours before our apt he emails me and said he can't find the notes on the tattoo. Even though he had 2 weeks in advance to get this figured out. He said he'd reschedule but due to the fact I live in another state today was the only day. I told him that was very unprofessional of him and he brushed it off and said cheers. So in all if you want half finished tattoos and the worst customer service you should go to him. Anything else I recommend staying clear. CHEERS!

~this was my first visit here. i had a wonderful experience. i first got my helix/cartilage pierced on my left ear at icing by Claire's. they pierced one ear and gave me the second pair of the earring to keep. i thought i could get my right ear pierced with the second earring. they wouldn't do it. i called ancient tattoo and said they will do it for $25. i was so happy! Naomi was the piercer. i had to wait an hour to get my earring sterilized. i came back an hour later it took 10 minutes to get it pierced. she was very friendly. thank u for excellent customer service. will come back again!

Just mske sure you know what you want going in makes it easer for you and the artist. Dont take your phone in to show them what you want, print out what you want or looking for. Makes life easer lol. Price is fair. Its not cheep to get tattooed. Remeber this when getting tattooed. You get what you payed for. Cheep = cheep.Well hope this helped I like this place a lot.

Now we have to go to another shop and pay to have it touched up. If your going to spend the time and money, find a better shop.

I've been to three different shops for all my tattoos, but this one by far was the best! Tor and I began a sleeve project last September, and he's always ready to work on more when I am. Everyone is nice, professional, hilarious, and knowledgeable people. I've taken two other people to be tattooed here, and everyone has nothing but wonderful things to say. I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone looking for great tattoo work.

ancient arts tattoo studio is a local shop that i had noticed awhile back but hadnt had the opportunity to visit until recently. i met with mark bentley over a month ago to discuss the options for finishing and recovering an unfinished forearm piece that was in dire need of help. upon completion of our first session i was / am VERY pleased with his work!!!! ive returned 2 times to get more work from mark. he's turned what i thought was a hopeless tattoo into a masterpiece. i will DEFINATELY return regularly for new work. for those who dont know - FIND OUT... you will NOT be disappointed..

I was a walk-in coming in for my first tattoo and I got all the help I needed when it came to design, placement, size, etc. from literally every one of the members of the staff. My artist was Ping (@inkprick on insta, seriously talented in multiple styles, check her out) she definitely took care of me by making sure we were both on the same page on what I wanted the end result to be. I appreciated the patience-- it was my first time getting a tattoo, so communicating what I wanted was a little difficult on my end, P made that a nonissue as she was patient and understanding. Super talented, enthusiastic to help me develop ideas and made sure that not only her creativity would be sparked, but mine as well. All around great experience. Thanks Ping!

Henry James is very rude, condescending and treated me like I was an idiot. I don’t want to go into detail, but I had horrible anxiety because of him when I left. And the prices here are ridiculous for something small and simple. Ended up not getting the tattoo, because I didn’t feel comfortable with him anymore.
Edit: So, because the “owner” wants to act like they were there when I was being treated poorly, I was simply trying to convey my ideas, and almost every idea I had, Henry would give me attitude about it, and basically act like it was a stupid idea(which I am the customer, even if you thinks it’s dumb, try to give me some constructive criticism in a nice way). Then after the first picture it wasn’t exactly what I wanted so I asked him to just tweak something small, and that posed him off because I didn’t want to just hop in his chair and get it tattooed. And then when I came back to see the next sketch, it was the EXACT drawing from the picture I showed him that was just supposed to be inspiration for my tattoo. And then said in a VERY condescending tone “this is what you wanted, isn’t it?” And it wasn’t obviously cause I didn’t want the exact picture, but because I already paid I wanted to just get it done. But, as I waited for him to get ready, he talked to other customers for like 15min (wasting my time that I’m paying $120 an hour for), I watched him very slowly set up all the equipment(literally took his sweet time, wasting my money and not caring). And then when he went to shave the small part on my arm where I was getting tattooed, he pulled an uncovered razor from a drawer and shaved my arm with it (I was scared of getting an infection from this). And when he put the stencil on, I simply asked him I wanted it about 1cm from where he put it. And he then argued with me saying it would look “stupid” how I wanted it. Then when I was trying to explain why I wanted to move it he LITERALLY cut me off while I, THE CUSTOMER, was speaking and said in an aggressive tone “do you want me to move it, yes or no.” And of course I said yes, then he laughed in a mocking way at me and began to remove the stencil. At that point I no longer felt safe or comfortable going through with this tattoo with him. My anxiety was sky high from the way he talked and treated me. So I then excused myself and went home, I was able to get my deposit back. And, about a week later my mother was supposed to get a tattoo there, and also look at a sketch done by Henry. And what happened when she got there was, Henry gave her the deposit back for her tattoo and said “I don’t want another bad review” and sent her on her way. Incredibly unprofessional and doesn’t care about his clients, and I’m disappointed that after the owner saw this they had the nerve to comment under it that I don’t know what happened to me at that shop. Instead of trying to justify your employees bad decisions and terrible customer service, maybe you should apologize to me and flak with your employee about not being rude to people paying you for a service!

Called us names because we had questions about some ink bleeding in her work, and refused to do a touch up. This shop is a joke! The owner stood by and watched her call us "ass holes" and when asked why we can't get a touch up she said "I don't have to explain myself to you!" Now I have an ugly piece of work on my body that I will have to pay a real artist to fix. Worst experience in my life! I've spent Thousands on quality work and this place will NEVER see another penny from me!

This place has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I am a heavily tattooed person who has spent thousands of dollars on beautiful work that I am so proud of. Found this shop on a whim and decided to give it a try. All went okay but as healing was underway the ink bled into our skin, my boyfriend and I got tattooed together, both had bleeding. 3 months later we went in to see if it can be explained, and maybe fixed, immediately being hit with back lash and resistance. Poor work was done and nobody wanted to own it. NOBODY. The artist called my boyfriend and "asshole" and said she didn't have to "explain herself" to anyone. The owner stood back and watched the situation without stepping in. Wow! Just wow. Now we both have shitty pieces of work, that they refuse to fix or acknowledge , and now must pay a real professional to try and fix their mistake. Worst customer service, poor work, and bad leadership make this place a total fail.

If you're getting your first tattoo, DO NOT COME HERE. Henry shot down my idea the second I walked in. He looked disappointed to have customers and was not welcoming at all. He told me my idea wouldn't look good and then refused to stencil it on my arm when I wanted a placement change (which he recommended in the first place). He is LAZY. He told me in exact words, "I don't want to go through the trouble of stenciling it on your skin just to keep wiping it off. Look at the picture and that's how it will look on you." Tattoos are permanent and if he wanted the money, he would have been accommodating considering I wasn't asking for much. He was rude, lazy, and unprofessional. Definitely never going here again.

Naomi is very informative and let's you know all the info. She's also not there to sell, but to make your experience memorable. I really appreciated that she recommends the best jewellery piece for you and doesn't push you to just pick the most expensive thing. Very humble! I got a daith piercing today on both ears with Naomi and she is just awesome! First off, my piercings look amazing and perfectly symmetrical, second, Naomi just put me at ease, she is so friendly and sweet, and last the piercing process itself went smoothly and with little pain. I got these piercings specifically because I had heard the benefits with migraines and Naomi was knowledgeable about that. I went in with the remains of a migraine and by the time I got home, the throbbing in my head and pain from the sun had lessened considerably. Very happy that I chose Ancient Arts for my latest piercings! Love!

Had my conch pierced by Naomi! I was a walk-in and she was able to take me in right away! She was so sweet and made my experience very comfortable. I was nervous about getting my conch pierced because from what I've heard, it's one of the most painful ear piercings and that I would hear a scary pop noise. That is not true at all. I was surprised at how painless and quick it was! And there was no pop noise lol. But it's different for everyone, glad I had such a great experience!

First time I came here was on a whim, knew what I wanted to get but didn't know what font or style. Amanda was amazing and super patient with me and drew something up that I loved. The second time I went she did my friend (it was her first tattoo) and the customer service was amazing. The tattoo came out great. She listened to everything my friend wanted and suggested a few ideas that ended up being part of the tattoo. She's very reasonable with time restraints and price quotes. I've been here three times. The first time I did a walk in. I got a small tattoo with a friend. The girl, Amanda, was really nice. She greeted us and squeezed us into her schedule. The tattoo took about 20-30 minutes. I was really happy with the results. The second time I came with a friend to get her first tattoo, the wait was about 30 minutes. The guy had drawn out her tattoo nicely but somehow messed it up. She was not very happy about it but nothing could really be done. The last time I came with another friend. We were told the wait would be about 30 minutes but we ended up waiting for almost an hour and a half because the other tattoo artist was on a run to get supplies. Was not happy about that. When he arrived, we were told it would take him another 30 minutes to draw out the tattoo, which was only basic lettering. The only good thing about this was that he finished the tattoo in about 15 minutes. The tattoo turned out great. But wait time was ridiculous.

This review is for Michael glasscock not the store in general. Michael had started my half sleeve tattoo a few months ago and then I ended up moving out of town. I tried contacting him several times to get my sleeve finish and he ignored me. I even called and left a message. Still nothing. When I finally did get ahold of him we schedule a time that I was in town for 4 days. I made this apt 2 weeks in advance and was sacrificing 1 of these 4 days that I could of had with my family to get this finished. 3 hours before our apt he emails me and said he can't find the notes on the tattoo. Even though he had 2 weeks in advance to get this figured out. He said he'd reschedule but due to the fact I live in another state today was the only day. I told him that was very unprofessional of him and he brushed it off and said cheers. So in all if you want half finished tattoos and the worst customer service you should go to him. Anything else I recommend staying clear. CHEERS!

~this was my first visit here. i had a wonderful experience. i first got my helix/cartilage pierced on my left ear at icing by Claire's. they pierced one ear and gave me the second pair of the earring to keep. i thought i could get my right ear pierced with the second earring. they wouldn't do it. i called ancient tattoo and said they will do it for $25. i was so happy! Naomi was the piercer. i had to wait an hour to get my earring sterilized. i came back an hour later it took 10 minutes to get it pierced. she was very friendly. thank u for excellent customer service. will come back again!

Just mske sure you know what you want going in makes it easer for you and the artist. Dont take your phone in to show them what you want, print out what you want or looking for. Makes life easer lol. Price is fair. Its not cheep to get tattooed. Remeber this when getting tattooed. You get what you payed for. Cheep = cheep.Well hope this helped I like this place a lot.

My fiance went in to get her 15th tattoo, her first at this shop. Originally, the tat looked pretty decent, but within two weeks it faded so badly that you can hardly tell what it is. Now we have to go to another shop and pay to have it touched up. If your going to spend the time and money, find a better shop.

I went in a couple of times now and I have to give it five starts. Excellent, friendly, comfortable little place to get inked, Very clean, very professional, kick a$$. It was a real pleasure to get tattooed here. I'll definitely come back for more, and I'll recommend this place to my friends looking to get inked.

I've been to three different shops for all my tattoos, but this one by far was the best! Tor and I began a sleeve project last September, and he's always ready to work on more when I am. Everyone is nice, professional, hilarious, and knowledgeable people. I've taken two other people to be tattooed here, and everyone has nothing but wonderful things to say. I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone looking for great tattoo work.

ancient arts tattoo studio is a local shop that i had noticed awhile back but hadnt had the opportunity to visit until recently. i met with mark bentley over a month ago to discuss the options for finishing and recovering an unfinished forearm piece that was in dire need of help. upon completion of our first session i was / am VERY pleased with his work!!!! ive returned 2 times to get more work from mark. he's turned what i thought was a hopeless tattoo into a masterpiece. i will DEFINATELY return regularly for new work. for those who dont know - FIND OUT... you will NOT be disappointed..

I went to Ancient Arts to have an old tattoo covered up on my left arm. I wanted falling stars. Mark did a beautiful job! A customer came in while I was being done with a portrait of her baby on her back it it was just amazing! I am planning to return for my next tattoo of a mermaid. Everyone was super friendly and never made me feel out of place like other shops have in the city.
