This error in judgment will stay with me forever!I wanted to have a tattoo covered up before my wedding. I paid $400 to have a shoulder tattoo covered. Simple, right? It started out with the most severe drilling I have ever known (and I have many tattoos!) It was more than 3 weeks before my skin calmed down enough to return to have the tattoo finished. The mess was so painful that I honestly didn't know if I could bear it! You can STILL see right through it! I'd called her several times and she swears (now that the review came out) that she never got a single message or voice mail. I even called the shop and asked that she call me...nothing happened. I have the text messages to prove that I contacted her for several weeks. This tattoo was carved into me so deeply that it actually looks like a scarring.Donna is the person (supposed 'artist") who did this to me and she was able to get my first review removed from yelp because it was written from my wife's yelp account. THIS one is from MY account and it is my honest opinion. Her work is crude and she will only contact you to repair her work if she sees a negative review. Caveat emptor! Read Less

This is a super clean shop with great artists. I was actually there when a health inspector came in and there were no findings. Rhe inspector was very pleased with the shop. The staff is friendly and I love my tattoo. The shop has a nice waiting area separate from the area where the artists work, so you don't feel like you're on display to anyone who walks in the door. After reading the positive reviews for this place we decided to give it a try. Now there is a permanent mess on my wife's back where once an annoying tattoo lived!  We were getting married the next week and I had asked my wife to get a tattoo of her ex covered up before the ceremony. Simple enough. The old tattoo had her ex's initials in it, but it was a relatively easy cover up.Donna (who is someone I'm sure is greatly missed by her last job at Walmart or Burger King or some equally demanding position!) was the butcher who did the damage. First, she drilled so hard and so deep that I honestly thought she was trying for scarring! My sweet wife suffered with this and she has had numerous tats, so it's not like she is a wus about it.when we tried to reach Donna by phone, she wouldn't answer. We left a message telling her our concerns and she still didn't return a call. The mark of a real coward who knows they did wrong!The worst of it all, the old tattoo STILL SHOWS! We spent $400 and two trips to get the work "finished" and it is STILL shows the old tat!I can't speak for the other tattoo workers there, but Donna is a real disaster.You can tell by my other reviews that I don't give negative remarks often, but when I do, they are truly deserved!If you want to blow $400, go get some fine bud somewhere or blow it all at the casino, but don't permanently ruin your body with a bad tattoo done by a lousy hand! My experience started on 2/3/18 meeting Dillon Irwin to have a talk about what I was having in mind. The shop was inviting and good energy two things I look for. I and Dillon talked about what we we're going to do and we set up an appointment for the 2/24/18. I had a last minute change of the tattoo on the day of and he was quick to ask what I had in mind and set a new fair price. This was a surprise tattoo for my mom so I took her with me, she loved the energy of the shop right away. Dillon was very open to all the questions me and her had and he answered them right away. He was all around just an amazing guy. I got along with him very well. He even mixed his tattoo colors to make just the right color my mom wanted for the heart on my tattoo. First, it is important to know a few things. I haven't had a realistic piece in the 10+ years I have been getting tattooed. I met Ben Stanton (@benhawaii) when he first became a customer at a butcher shop I ran. I've always admired the realistic work he has done and collects himself. It is becoming more popular for those of us in the food industry to receive food related tattoos. There isn't anything wrong with them but I never took a liking. The tattoo been gave me is a remi...nder of the time I lived in New York City. Ironically, it happens to have a food element, an apple. Ben consulted with me through my ideas. There were items that wouldn't have worked for the placement or size of the piece. He guided me into what my options were and how he could still provide me with a piece that I love. Ben Stanton is the best! By far, the best tattooing experience I have had. I've had work done by four separate artists but the most comfortable experience is with Ben. He does clean, quality work and is fair in his pricing. I usually go into a tattoo knowing the concept of the design but I leave it up to the artist to place their personal touches on the final product. If I have an idea that can be improved on, Ben is practical in assessing the pros and cons of each design.I travel to Seattle often and always make sure to get tattooed every time I'm in the area. We are working on several projects on my arms so he is my primary artist. It's also important that your tattoo artist should have a personality to maintain conversation during a extensive and painful process. He is attentive, honest, personable and easy-going. American Pin-Up Tattoo is the best shop, in my opinion, in the area!!!  After looking around a few shops, I came across the portfolios from this shop and I was amazed in regards to the level of detail and skill each tattoo artist had in their portfolios online.  I was also glad to see that their customer service was really awesome as well (many shops I went to in the area were not as customer-friendly, which is horrible because they provide such a great deal of customer service).  I got a Wonder Woman tattoo from Ben Stanton today that was very awesome!!! To give you an idea of how really awesome this tattoo is, I have darker skin and colors don't usually show up that well because of that fact.  With this tattoo, you can see all of the colors, not to mention the lines are clean and the skills are fantastic!!!!  I posted the original design picture, and the final finished product.  I will not only highly recommend this shop, I will definitely be back for another one!!!! Well, the tattoo practically goes from my hip to my knee, wraps half way around my thigh, and the last thing I wanted was a hurried job! Ben did beautiful work. Bought my Mom a Gift Certificate last week for a very special FIRST tattoo for Mother's Day. They, Dillion and Ben, were so much help with it. American pin-up was the only responder, which is already a good sign of their customer service.  I had the pleasure of being tattooed by Diilon. He made sure the design was exactly what I wanted and he did an amazing job. I was relaxed the whole time, even though I was being tattooed, and it is healing amazingly. First impression walking into this shop is how clean it is!  It smells clean and looks clean.  The artists display their stencil work openly as well as provide photo albums of their tattoos.  These guys are true artists!  Give them an idea and they will work with you to sketch up exactly what your vision is.  Give them free reign to get creative and you will NOT be disappointed!  These experts are also skilled in cover ups that blend so well, you can't find any traces of the old tattoo!  Dillon easily turned my 25 year old black panther into a gorgeous dragon and tiger!  This is where you should get your next tattoo!! I got my septum done here and I thought it went great..until after the 9 weeks of healing I realized my nose was pierced in the wrong place. It was pierced in the front tip where there are more nerves. Your supposed to pierce it in the thin layer of skin between the hard cartelidge and the fatty front. So now all of my nose hurts all the time. One side is swollen and screwed up and it was bleeding yesterday too. Its way past time of being able to change my nose ring and when I do it pokes through and goes not thru the hole and bubbles out other walls of my nose. AND puss comes out. DOH did it. Was told he was a really good piercer. Screw THAT. p.s. he ripped the nose ring thru so hard i got dizzy. Read Less
