I got my cartilage pierced here today and the experience was wonderful! I waited about 10 minutes from the time I entered the shop to the time I was taken back into the piercing room. There were other clients ahead of me, so I had no problem waiting. I was relieved that everyone who went into the piercing room came out happy and satisfied. While I waited, Julia, the woman at the counter, was friendly and helpful, and I checked out their glorious section of incense. I think Dawn was my piercer and I feel terrible that I don't confidently recall her name! Aside from forgetting her name, she was so friendly and helpful. We chatted nonsense while she prepped me which was fun and made me forget any nerves I had about my piercing. Got my conch done for my 21st; Dawn was awesome! She was excellent at explaining what was gonna happen, how to care for it, and helped calm me down from my excitement/nervousness. I stopped by Metro on a semi whim to get my daith pierced. I have had my ears previously pierced, in the regular place on the lobe and at one of those mall type piercing places with a piercing gun, so this was my first time getting pierced with a needle. I wasn't very nervous, but nevertheless, my piercer, Julia, did a great job of keeping me in my relaxed state. She confidently communicated every part of the procedure as she went along, everything was very clean, and when she pushed the needle through I barely felt a pinch. It has been a couple weeks now, and my piercing is healing nicely. I cannot wait for my next piercing (double conch, perhaps?), and I will definitely return to Metro to have it done. Read Less

I got my nostril and vertical labret pierced by Dawn, and she is amazing. My lip hurt quite a bit but that's only because i have thick lips lol. She did my lip free hand and it came out perfectly straight and i think she did an amazing job! When she did my nostril, it was quick and hardly painful at all, she was very informative throughout the whole process, and she was totally fine with my pickyness of placement both times of being there lol. I literally am writing this review as I walk out of Metro because I'm so happy with them. I feel awful that I don't remember their names, but the 2 women who helped me out were as kind as can be! The woman at the counter was very friendly and explained everything that I needed to know about the shop. Then, the piercer led me into the room, and she started to explain everything about the piercing itself. She made sure i knew how to take care of it, explained my options of changing jewelry in the future, and told me everything that she was doing as she was piercing my daith. I got my first piercings several years ago at Metro and had a good experience. Since then I've tried some of the cheaper shops around town but recently went back to Metro. They are pricey but they have plenty of deals throughout the year. However, for the price, you only get basic surgical steel jewelry - I prefer titanium and they charge extra for that. Read Less

I am new from California and Bulldog Tattoo recommended them. From the moment I walked in they were courteous, gave great information and let me say Julianna was fabulous. She re-stretched my cartridge on both ears and also re-gauged two holes on each ear lobe. She was extremely excellent and I will go back again. I got my Industrial Piercing here on February 13th (their $13 deal)  and all I can say is how amazing it was. It was super busy but they kept you well informed and answered any question you had. Once I went back I had a male piercer (I don't remember his name) and he was so nice. Two of my friends and I went in together all to get different piercings. One was getting a conch, one a helix and I was getting my nostril. Our piercer's name was Evie and she seemed nice enough.My first friend went in and was gone for a pretty long time and then came out pierced and smiling so no issue with the helix.My second friend went in, and was gone for almost a half hour. When she came out her ear was bright red but her piercing was in. When I asked her about it she explained that the piercer was pregnant and had really swollen hands and there for trouble getting her jewelry in. This is where I started to get a little freaked out, someone with swollen fingers who could barely do a conch where you can see the entrance and exit of the piercing was going to do my nostril?So I went in, pretty apprehensive and freaked, when I got in she was putting on some gloves with trouble and explained that she normally wore an xtra-small glove but her hands were now barely fitting into a medium. Hopefully you can imagine how awkward and clumsy her hands were because they were so severely swollen. She pushed the needle through and then had me lay back because she could get to my nose past her swollen pregnant stomach. She then worked on getting my jewelry in, she missed with the jewelry as she was removing the needle so I was bleeding down into my eye. When she finally got the jewelry in and the blood mopped up she spent several minutes with her finger up my nose trying to rotate the piercing but because her finger was so swollen she could barely get it past my nostril opening. It took 5 minutes for her to rotate my jewelry and then it slipped forward and she told me to just rotate it myself when I got home. Metro needs to have a higher standard or some kind of policy because she can barely do a piercing currently and could really cause some damage. I think she is unfit to be a piercer for the time being. Read Less

Allow me to write you a haiku of how I feel about Metro:No no no no noNo no no no no no noNo no no no noI first talked to someone when my ears [then stretched to 7/8"] about the honest health of my lobe and if I should downsize or remove the tunnels, since one lobe infected often and had visibly thin flesh. I was told by a guy that works at Metro that I could continue stretching, that it's 'totally fine', and that I just needed to get some emu oil for it. Another girl at Metro even asked if I wanted a piercer there to stretch it for me. A week later, the lobe completely necrotized, and now I have a split lobe due to poor advice. I was willing to completely remove my tunnels if it meant having intact ear lobes. Now I need to get stitching done on my lobe to repair it.I went in before this to inquire on getting my navel pierced, and was told that I can't have a navel piercing if I lifted heavy weights at the gym because over time, the piercing would be pushed outward through the flesh. I got second opinions from my friends who have navel piercings who also run and lift weights, and they told me that's bullshit and they've never even had infections in the piercing. Other piercing professionals also told me I was totally fine and to take extra care just during the healing process. The guy at Metro quoted me at a minimum of 6 months' healing time, but I got my navel pierced today and was told otherwise, and in detail what I could do and when during the healing process. I have friends who have had piercing horror stories from Metro, but I'll let them tell their own tale. If you want to get pierced, go to someone who isn't going to ruin your body or give poor advice, especially when that someone is someone who is supposed to be a licensed professional. Read Less

I went here for a few piercings in the Cap. Mall location, all of which were done by Eric. He did a fantastic job on my cartilage and rook. He also pierced my friend's tragus when he was with me. Where to start.  Both piercings I have gotten done here were done incorrectly and I have had to take out.  Note: I have 8 other piercings that have healed beautifully so I am not to blame. I have been sold jewelry of incorrectly labeled size, but of course couldn't return as it had already been in my body.  They also tried to sell me two different kinds of tunnels as a pair. Thanks but no thanks I should have known better than to go anywhere that has a location in a mall or one that sells pipes, sex toys and clothes.  I give them two stars because I have a couple of cool belt buckles and some patches I like.  Stick to what you know Metro, and that sure as heck not piercings or body jewelry. I got my tragus pierced at Metro about a year ago and took it out about a month later.  The girl had a lot of trouble getting the ring in my ear, causing me a lot of pain and tears, and then had trouble getting the captive ball in the ring. Instead of the usual    five minutes, the whole process about about forty-five.At the end of the whole ordeal, the woman only gave me 20% off for my undue pain and stress. My boyfriend and I wanted to get a piercing together and was recommended to go here by Bulldogs.  I got a cartilage piercing while my boyfriend got an industrial piercing.  The prices varies depending on the area you want pierced and the type of earrings you want in it.  The ladies there were very nice, and answered our questions accordingly.  (I don't remember their names.)The girl who pierced our ears was really nice.  She was very careful and sanitary.  She would change her gloves to a new pair over and over again to ensure that there is no contamination.  She explained to me clearly on the instructions to taking care of my new piercing. She first marked the spots to which she would think I would like my cartilage piercing at.  Then she would ask me which spot I would like it to be pierced at.The piercing went quite well.  It didn't hurt that much, although I did bleed a lot.  She also told me that caffeine makes your blood thinner, so that could be the result of my blood loss from the piercing (I drank hot green tea in the morning, green tea contains caffeine).  So I learned something new =)Overall I would recommend getting your piercings here.  I live in California, and I've looked at the reviews on piercing places here, and they're pretty bad, but my experience at Metro was pretty good.  It's been about 2 weeks, and I haven't gotten any infection by far ( I also haven't been cleaning as much as I should have either due to my laziness hahaha).
