Stopped in for my very first tattoo for my 53rd Birthday. Brought in a picture of what I wanted and Steven took the picture, created his own adaptation of my idea and 2 hours later I was having my tattoo done. I would recommend this place to anyone! I got my first tattoo here a few days ago and the vibe here is amazing. Everyone's bad ass, but nice, understanding and funny. The shop is also very clean, and they go through very sanitary steps to ensure safety. They keep the tattoo parlor and the guest area very separated so no one is just walking around when getting tattoos. My experience with Bulldog tattoo was perfect. The place was very clean and organized. The artist was great at taking my idea and improving on it! This was my first tattoo and I thought I knew what I wanted as far as where and what size. I wanted it right below my ankle bone on the inside so it would have been pretty small. The artist gave me some feedback and thought that I would not be happy with the detail so small and in that area the results can be not so great. He talked me into above my ankle instead and much bigger. I am so happy he did. The detail and size are perfect! My mom and I got matching tattoos that day done by different artists and they are so alike, yet so different too.....Perfect for us. The whole process was easy and I felt the price was good too.... although I didn't really have anything to compare to. Cory has done 5 tattoos total for me on my arm to finish a half sleeve. I have quite a bit of ink from different artists and he defiantly knows what he is doing! I really like his style and how he is able to make it all come together perfectly! He is funny and always asks how I'm doing and holds great conversation. This place is garbage. I paid a 50 dollar deposit and couldn't make my appointment cause I was sick. Mind you I didn't even meet with the artist. I called early that morning and left a message that I wasn't going to be able to make it. When I called to reschedule the artist was all the sudden out of town and I was out 50 bucks. My husband and I had walk in tattoos done last night and after going through portfolios of the artists there at the time... we decided we liked the work done by Steven and requested him to do our work. It was my husband's second ever tattoo, but my first. Steven was awesome through the whole process, and the tattoos he did for us were amazing. They are currently still healing as they were just done last night... but they are perfect. At this point, this shop has done nine tattoos for me, almost all of them were different artists. Everyone there is great and knows what they're doing.Several times I've ended up paying less than the original quote because of the tattoo being faster or easier than the artist anticipated. They've also stayed open late by two hours, to tattoo a friend and I.Highly recommended for any tattoo style.If something isn't going to look good on you due to sizing, skin tone, layout, etc, they'll tell you and work with you with suggestions on how to alter the image to get around the problem. I have been looking for a great tattoo shop every since moving to Washington in 2011. I found it!  Bulldog's is amazing! It was four of us who got tatted and done by different artist. All of ours look amazing so I can't say one artist is better than the other because they ALL do their thing!  I will always go here for any work I want done.  Some may say its pricey but you get what you pay for..... I like this shop. Walk in's all day and the guys seem like a good group of people. Front desk was awesome and had pretty stellar customer service while waiting. Downside with the walk in is that I had to wait upwards of 3 hours before I was actually seated in the chair (which could be my fault too for coming in on a weekend). Which is fine, but I prefer having the option of getting an appointment instead. I would also like being able to talk to the artist regarding the sketch/idea, instead of having to go through only the receptionist and getting things relayed to the artist. This might be because they were busy and that they are a "mainly" walk in shop. Therefore the idea of communicating with an artist beforehand might be something close to impossible, as you don't know exactly who will be doing your tattoos. Anyway, Gordon did my tattoo and I like that we didn't converse much. Some may find that impersonal, but I'm fine with awkward silence. I'm quite impressed with what I got. A very nice piece indeed. Now to sound like a creeper... I googled (yeah, I went there) the what and who about the shop. And lo and behold from my searches, it said a few of the artists used to tattoo in Sacramento, where I am from. What are the odds of that happening? My tattoo was a piece of cake for any artist and they overpriced me. Originally the receptionist said 140 and I am new to the whole tattoo scene but I knew something was up because I asked a place down in California and they said that they would do it for 40. I told the guy and he kind of just laughed in my face and said that its because these are "real" artist. I got it down to a 100, but I still knew it was overpriced so I gave him no tip. Justin, the artist appeared to be annoyed with me and was not personal. They said it was because they were focusing on his art. It only took him 20 minutes to do my whole tattoo. They wanted $140 for a 20 minute tattoo!!!! They were very rude and snarky. Read Less

I went to Bulldog for a tattoo last week for the first time. I've been to a few other shops in oly but heard good things about Bulldog so I decided to give it a try. I called ahead on a Friday  asking if we could get in later that night. The friendly guy on the other end said they were more of a "walk in" shop and said we'd have to come in and they'd get us in as soon as possible. We showed up at 8 pm and waited for maybe 30-40 min for the first of us to get tattooed. We both had Aron who was friendly, professional and did a good job. He was open to design input and very helpful. The shop was clean and well maintained. I was especially impressed by how friendly the artists and front desk guy was. An older woman came in and complained about customers smoking outside and the guys were very cool about it. They apologized and later I overheard one suggesting they put a sign out front of the shop reminding people to keep 25ft while smoking. I appreciated that they were respectful about the situation. I'd say the only downfall is that the shop is in a weird spot in Lacey- in a small strip mall. But that's not something to deter you from going. It just doesn't have the "oly" feel by being out there. Still gets 4 stars from me though! Read Less

One of the best shops in the area. Gordon is an amazing artist and a really good guy to boot. I've gotten 1 tattoo from him, while my wife has gotten 4 or 5 at this point. All the artists do high quality work, and the best part is that they are honest. If it's something they cannot do, they will flat out tell you "Hey, I can't do that, but I know someone that probably could" (i.e. photo portraits). Read Less

So my spouse and I were visiting our tattoo artist who was visiting from Yakima at this shop. I got to talking to Gordon while my spouse was getting worked on. He seemed very experienced and confident. I figured if our artist from Yakima was there visiting he must like him so I took a leap of faith and couldn't be happier. I love my tattoo. Decided that I was finally ready for a tattoo that I'd wanted for awhile, and looked up the best ratings on Yelp, to find Bulldog.  Gave them a call, and got a great personality that told me to come on in.  Brought in a picture of what I wanted on my phone, and they had it drawn up in no time.  While I was waiting, the guy at the front desk was super nice, and would chat it up randomly.  The shop was so bright and clean, I had no worries about sanitation at all!  Aron did my tattoo, and he was fantastic.  He had a great personality, and chatted throughout so the time went really fast.  I couldn't be happier with the result!  I can't wait for it to heal so I can get started on the next! I love this tattoo parlor. I had a huge (AWFUL) chest piece, it was such a train wreck and several other tattoo artists told me it was hopeless as far as a cover up goes, but Travis made it happen! I could not have asked for a better job, and he is so much fun to hang out with while you get your ink done, and he is way way friendly. I have never been more grateful or excited about how well one of my tattoos turned out, and when i thanked him for it he kept thanking me for liking it lol it really is an incredible tattoo, this is such a good friendly professional environment. I have been recommending them left and right! This tattoo shop is great. All the artists working the day I was there were friendly with the clients I saw walk in the door and didn't have any of the "hollywood" attitude you might get at some shops. I had an awesome tattoo added to my collection by Gordon, and I couldn't be happier. I chose my tattoo off a sheet of flash (yeah, I'm one of those people) , but I did see clients bring in their own drawings and get them tattooed. I'm planning on going back soon for more work! This place was great! We went in here on a whim and they gave a us a quote right there. No fuss about it, they welcomed us with a smile. We then came back later that day for our appointment. When we returned, our tattoos were sketched out. There were a couple of things a changed. They did not make a big deal about it and made the changes. While all this was happening, the guy at the front desk was keeping us company and was very funny and nice. During the tattoo sessions, we had people coming back, talking with us, it was a great time. We will definitely we back! Travis was our artist and he was wonderful. Very clean and he explained everything he was doing. I've had my last 4 tattoo's done at Bulldog. Altho I've always had Gordon do them, my time there watching the others work & seeing the end result, I feel confident in saying ALL of the artists are top notch.
