This is a great little shop in a place that is listed as Outlet mall?! It is nothing like a mall. The shop is inside building just down the street by a few hundred yards from " Tea Madame", another really great little shop with amazing different kinds of tea from all over the world. 3rd Rock is a little hard to see, it's in a dark blue black building with a big logo on the door that says"3rd Rock tattoos". They do all types of tattoos and piercings, they show all their techniques including their sterilization procedures and explain things as they go. They also do watercolor tattoos, which from talking with other people I understand is more difficult and quite expensive to do but at 3rd Rock tattoos they do an amazing job. My daughter got her first tattoo there for her 21st birthday and it came out beautifully. If you are looking for a great little tattoo place that can do amazing works of art down to the cutest little favorite animals or even cultural markings and tattoos then this is your place. Took my 7 year old to get her ears pierced by Jimi Bones. He was super nice to my daughter(he's a dad) and very professional. The piercing was quick and easy and she hardly cried for more than a few seconds(the whole thing was so fast). Then she was ecstatic! I got my nipples pierced for a dope price and the piercer is a down to earth dude with over 25 years of experience. He is a respectful, kind, real, and friendly guy. I got a tattoo in October the guy that did it was so rough that after her was done a few hours later my arm was turning red and purple and getting swollen. I have never had a tattoo react like that. I thought it was infected but later realized it was really badly bruised. I went in and asked what they thought was wrong and they said they had no idea. Oh man. I don't even know where to start! I was greated first thing when I walked in and was helped immediately. I messaged Jimi beforehand to get my nipples pierced because I was nervous and had questions. He answered very quickly and eased my mind! He and his wife, Jen, both pierced one nipple at the same time, so I wouldn't feel the pain twice. I really appreciated this. If anyone needs a piercing, Jimi Bones is amazing. He is very particular, explains everything & shows you all the tools he will be using as he safely takes them out of the sterile packages, one by one. He definitely cares about his clients! Last month I went to Jimi Bones to have my daith pierced. Jimi seemed very experienced and was very nice. He showed me that all the needles and equipment were sterile, which I greatly appreciated. He is very kind and helped talk me through the process...However a couple days ago I started having sever pain and brown/green puss. I attempted to go in to Jimi's shop but he was out for the day. I went to another piercing shop in Tacoma and learned that they jewelry used for my daith was wrong. It was not implant grade and had a black coating. The piercer took out the ring, drained the infection, and put a new silver implant grade ring in. The ring I was originally given was coated black and left black specks in the piercing which is what is believed to of caused infection. (I completely followed the aftercare instructions)I am not saying that Jimi is a bad piercer. However I have since heard another story that was the same from last month. Jimi is a great guy, however I would advise doing some research before getting your piercing. Read Less

I went in to get three piercings done, tongue and snake bites. Told jimi that I have had all of them done before but have had some bad experience. My tongue was unable to be done due to my vein but I so much appreciate it because it would of been a bad experience again. This by far is the best piercer and tattoo shop I have ever been too. Just got both my daiths done by Jimi Bones and he was wonderful!! Explained every step of the way what he was doing and what I would feel, showed me the medical grade info for every piece of equipment as he took it out of the packaging, made sure I was comfortable, happy and would follow up if I have any issues! Did a lot of research from Olympia to Tacoma and Wayne's work impressed me the most.  Went in to make an appointment and he took the time to explain the eaches of what I wanted and why it needed some refining.  I go back in two weeks to finish the soft shading.  I got an American flag under ripped skin.  Looks amazing I'll post pics when complete.   All I can say is wow!!!  Wayne's artistic ability is amazing.  Shop is super clean and people are honest and friendly.  Yes it's pricey but you get what you pay for and when shopping for a tattoo artist quality is the most important.  Price shouldn't be a topic at all. People pay a couple hundred for shoes but try and bargain shop for a tattoo. Lol makes no sense. Read Less

He worked with me to give me what I wanted instead of trying to convince me his ideas were better, like a lot of other shops do. He was extremely professional the entire time, and very nice!
