I'm from Canada, and I see many polynesian style tattoos on a lot of people. They are pretty meh in terms of style and I cannot vouch for the authenticity of the artist performing these tattoos. I'm a strong believer of having the best artist doing Polynesian related tattooing. And Kaydrey fits the mantle. I don't recommend this place to anyone unless you want some Polynesian tattoo on you. I went to kaydrey for some flowers tattoo and he ripped me off $300 for 20 Mins outline that he didn't finish and said the next time I come it'll be another $300 for the shading. He keeps telling me to come back and when that day come he would flake out. The tattoo I wanted didn't even look nothing like that the picture he was a piece of shit who was all words told me to come back again on feb 20 2018 and never even hit us up didn't even remind us or nothing! On top of that I even put down $100 deposit that I know for sure I won't get it back because he's a scammer! There's so much more I would say but I'll keep it short and simple kaydrey is a scammer artist who would take advantage of their customers and would rip your ass off if you don't know shit about tattoo! If I could give more stars, I would. Kamu is an AMAZING artist and has a way of making you feel like family. He takes time to get to know his clients, which creates a much better experience. He was curious about my culture, so he also shared some of his with me. When a tattoo artist can be that open with his clients, that's how you know they're a great artist. First, Kamu is a good dude. After sitting with him for over 18 hours, I can attest to how genuine of a person he is.  He cares about both the tattoo and the client. He is also agurably one of the best polynesian tattoo artist, anywhere. I follow Polynesian artists along the west coast, the islands, NZ, Aussies, even guys from Texas and Russia - I can't find someone who consistently puts out the extraordinary work like he does. Most of his tatau (tattoo) are freehand and never the same tattoo.  He does excellent freehand tribal, color, shading, placement, flow, female tattoos... the guy is amazing at everything.  His shop is clean and conveniently located.  His prices are in line with every other established tattoo artists in the area. Don't plan on just dropping in for a tattoo, his wait time are weeks or even months.  But, there is a reason for that, he is in such high demand people will wait months to get in.... I did and continue to do so.  Just be patient, he is well worth the wait.  Kamu has done two large tattoos for me over the last year. I got my first tattoo yesterday 3/10/17. After weeks of research on tattoos and tattoo artists, I elected to go with my man Kaydrey. That was the best decision ever. Kaydrey is very knowledgeable, has great artistic skills, great attention to detail and is a perfectionist; as well as professional. Kaydrey is absolutely amazing. his work is very well thought out and he talked to me the whole time he was sketching letting me know what he was doing and what he thought looked good, as well as asking me what i thought. he even drew extra on me to show me what my tattoo would look like if i wanted to add more on in the future. the whole time he reassured me that the tattoo looked awesome all throughout the session. he also was very thoughtful, i let him know i had epilepsy so he gave me plenty of breaks when he thought i needed them. all in all he was an awesome guy and an even better artist. he deserves 6 stars. If you want an authentic Polynesian / Samoan  tat in the Northwest, there's no one better than Kaydrey's. Kamu is a fantastic family guy, totally authentic to his craft, and takes excellent care of his customers.  The studio specializes in Island art, so if that's your thing, find it in Fife (off I-5 near Tacoma) and get there... I found it worth it. I would really recommend that you let him loose on your skin after giving him an idea of what you want the tattoo to represent... ((vs providing flash art or pre-prepared stuff)... and he wont let you down :)what I liked: #1 The total precision with which he creates his art - including the uncomfortable sharping needle at the end.. just when you think its all over:)  and looking at the tattoo later, I can see the thought and dedication he put into it. #2 The "flow" - this is a non-precise art which only a few artists get.. for me this is very important, and Kamu did a great job of  translating my verbal instructions to real art... #3 loved the chilled out music, went perfectly well with the Island theme. A small improvement: pls change the overhead lights to 'warm white' fluorescent (2700K) .. more pleasant than 'bright white' when you're staring at the ceiling for a few hours :)I will be back soon :) Read Less
