Mike Campbell is LEGIT! One year ago yesterday I had Mike create a tattoo to honor my little bro who passed away from a heroin overdose. It was a bit of a spur of the moment situation for me, but I was set on getting this tattoo to honor my brother. Mike informed me that we would need to make an appointment, but I let him know the significance of the date that I came in 3-3. I let him know that this was the day that my brother pass away, and I needed the tattoo done the same day. He paused, then asked me what I was thinking about doing for a tribute. I wrote it out, and Mike said "I'll be right back". He made a mock up of the tattoo in the front that he thought would be most complimenting.... I instantly agreed. He decided to fit me in no matter what; and low and behold, his client cancelled at the last second. Coincidence? I think NOT! Needless to say, Mike killed it! All text, and positioned perfectly. He more than nailed it, and so damn quickly!  I was shocked when he said he was done! I thought it was maybe just the outline, but when he said it's all done bro, I couldn't get up quick enough to look at it. I ordered earrings for my daughter on November 4 and was told that I needed to pay upfront and that the earrings would take about a week to get in the shop. He said that he would give me a call when they arrived. After 3 weeks with no phone call I called him and was told that there were shipping issues and that it would be another 4 days till they arrive and once again he told me that he would call me when they get there. On December 8th I still hadn't heard from him and called up there again. This time I was told that they would be there the next day. So the next day I drove over an hour up there only to be told that he didn't have them! At that point he offered my daughter a pair of pink studs for free and was told that he would definitely have them in a week and would call me. I can't say enough good things about the piercer, Matt! I went here yesterday to see if I could get my lip piercing re-opened, after it had been closed for a couple of years. I had tried to get the jewelry back in myself when it first closed up with no luck. Matt got it open again in about 5 seconds and it didn't hurt at all.My sister also came hoping to get her nose stud swapped out for a hoop. Matt noticed she had a keloid and then found that her current stud was shitty metal so the piercing hadn't healed. Instead of putting a hoop in he gave her a better stud for free to give it time to heal, and gave a bunch of instructions on how to get rid of the keloid.I could tell that Matt was very experienced, he was super nice, and gave great service. I went here for my first tattoo and I was super nervous. However Alexus calmed me down and was patient with me. I showed her reference photos that honestly weren't that great but she still came up with EXACTLY what I wanted! I went in to get a daith piercing for my migraines. I get an average of 12 incapacitating migraines a month. Matt offered me a deal because the piercing is for a good reason and suggested I do both sides. He made sure I felt comfortable and it was very obvious he really knew what he was doing. Matt has done four piercings for me (nipples, septum, nostril, and dermal on my hand) and all of them have been amazing experiences. He is really friendly and makes you feel super comfortable. Sometimes my friends want to get spontaneous piercings elsewhere and I refuse because I don't really trust anyone else like I trust him. Piercing: Matt is awesome. He is basically my new best friend. I've been getting migraines the past two years and the doctors, neurologists and chiropractor was helping but not telling me where they were coming from or stopping them. Most of the time the migraine would start small and build to put me down (nausea, vomiting, light sensitivity, tension, pain everywhere, dizziness, etc) unless I took some pain killers and took a nap/ a long nap. But I was going on day 8 of a lingering headache that just refused to peak or quit. My headache  was just annoying enough to need to take something if I wanted to go to work or be productive (like , think ) but wasn't putting me down. It would die down every evening so I would think it was going away then I'd wake up every morning with it My brain has been foggy and I've been jittery from taking excedrin which is a weird combo but my pain was always just lingering. My cousin recommended getting my DAITH pierced and so I had started researching. The daith is the inside of the ear that is a common acupuncture spot for relieving migraines and targets pressure points to ease discomfort. It's still a new technique and everyone is different but heck- it's worth a try!!Matt at Clever Rebel was one of the closest to me, but he also had a lot of experience and great reviews for migraine relief with daith piercing. I agree with all the previous people- he's awesome. And knowledgeable and friendly. And will make you feel like a champ even when you're being a pussy.As he put the needle through all I felt was the pain of the needle (ahhhhh!) and at the same time the band around my temples and around my eyes just disappeared. The tv  in the next room had been incredibly loud and it didn't seem so loud any more. The sunlight coming through didn't seem so awfully glaring! I've still got excedrin in my system so I'm still a bit jittery but I'm just trying to revel in the lack of tightness around my brain right now! My headache is GONE!!! DOPE!When you walk into the tattoo shop, you look and see the beautiful artwork by the tattoo artists hung up on the wall. This place was warm and inviting. And the pieces on the wall inspires you to get a tattoo. (Which I will be getting very soon). If it weren't for Matt (the cool guy who does piercings in the store), i probably wouldnt have known about this place! Matt is a cool guy. He pierced my nose along with some of my other friends. I've had my nose pierced about a year ago at the Tacoma Mall and it was so painful. I was asked about 20 million questions and it built up my anxiety. After a month or two of my first nose piercing, I took it out and it healed up. But, When I went to get my nose pierced again (but at this location with Matt), he was super chill. We had a cool conversation during my piercing, told me that it was gonna be okay and just relax. And boom! My piercing went it, it didn't hurt as much as my first experience at the Tacoma Mall. I was really nervous to get my nipples pierced as it is a very difficult piercing to manage. A friend who has had many tattoos done by them recommended them to me, gave them a call and Matt fit me right in. Matt was awesome. I never thought the process of getting my nipples pierced would be fun, but it was! No pain, no blood, and perfect placement! He even noticed that I was wearing a belly ring that isnt good for the piercing so he changed it to a good one for me! I went in to get my belly button pierced just over a year ago, and had an amazing experience. Matt was extremely helpful and understanding when I started freaking out (I get really scared of needles). He put some numbing gel on the area just before piercing it so that I wouldn't feel it as much. He was really nice, and the piercing went quickly and it turned out great. It's completely healed up now, and I didn't have any issues with it. UPDATE: Went in to get my daith pierced recently. Matt was just as great as last time! Matt did my nostril piercing. He was really nice and fun and it turned out good. I didn't really do my research so I didn't know it takes 3-6 months to heal. Maybe he told me and I wasn't listening, too busy shootin' the shit with him and my friend. Anyway, I tried to take mine out after 3 weeks like and idiot, and almost couldn't get it back in. Also I have a weird narrow nose (my sister used to call me penis nose when we were kids) and the corkscrew ring is really buggin'. I want to switch it out, but my friend told me I had to wait til it healed, 3-6 months. They warned me about the crusties, but man, nose piercings are just kinda ewwy. Read Less

I can't say enough good things about Clever Rebel. I had a really ugly crappy tattoo on my foot that I got when I was younger. I was never happy with it. I went to a few places asking about a cover up and didn't really get the response I wanted. I talked to some of my Inked friends who pointed me in the direction of Clever Rebel. I came in and was greeted by the super friendly and knowledgeable staff. I heard many mentions of "Joe" so I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I got to meet with Joe who spent a considerable amount of time talking with me about covering up the tattoo, designs, colors, what to expect. Finally sounded like someone knew what they were talking about!I felt really at ease here. it is obvious that these guys are super seasoned tattoo artists, no BS or pussyfooting around. With all the recs I decided to go for it. it took 2 sessions, about an hour each, to complete the cover up. and let me tell you, I AM AMAZED. The staff here is so laid back yet professional. The shop is spotless clean, everything used is brand new, sanitary, completely safe. I am beyond happy with the work Joe has done for me. This place-- 10 stars for piercings!!! Matt is all kinds of awesome.I came in a couple weeks ago for a simple ear piercing-- SO HAPPY! Due to a nerve disorder, I have extremely sensitive skin and have never been able to keep even a simple ear piercing clear of painful, raging infections. I've had them re-pierced by professionals probably 6 times before this and it's always a nightmare... I gave up altogether for years but am getting married soon and would love earrings at my wedding. I decided to give it one last shot and I'm SO glad I did! Matt was incredible. I have nothing but praise for his expertise, compassion, patience-- all that. I was pretty nervous because this has never been a fun experience for me but he really did calm my nerves just by his calm demeanor... He took the time to learn my history and asked lots of questions-- He was never judgmental and never tried to bad mouth the piercers I'd gone to before, even though they screwed my shiz up royally every time... He explained every step and went through the whole process slowly and calmly. I felt totally at ease for the first time ever.Even when my ears bled like crazy-- he wasn't phased and kept me calm. I had a ton of scar tissue from previous piercings and he handled it so well, without making me feel stupid or out of my league.
