I came to get my helix and my conch pierced today. It was a Sunday afternoon and there were 3 people ahead of me. I ended up waiting for about 2 hours because Frankie really takes his time with each customer to explain the process, address any concerns, and go over after care procedures. He was very thorough in explaining everything to me and addressing any concerns I had about my piercing. The equipment was cleaned in an autoclave and Frankie used multiple sets of gloves when cleaning my ear, marking it for the piercing, and actually piercing it. He made sure i was happy with the placement before moving forward with the piercing. I was very nervous about the pain but he was so quick and talked through every step of the process. I am so glad I came here vs the place I was tempted to go because they will put a ring in your nose immediately after piercing.After Frankie explained to me why he recommends put a stud in until the nostril is healed, it made complete sense to me. I actually had the issue he mentioned (bubble on nose above piercing site) after getting nose pierced in Kirkland last year and having a ring put in immediately after.Frankie was very, very thorough explaining EVERYTHING which I appreciated. The piercing was pretty painless. It just felt like a pinch. No bleeding afterward which is different from when I had it pierced in Kirkland. It bled for several minutes afterward then and hurt. I have had no pain at all since it was pierced and can hardly tell it was done.This is my 4th time having my nose pierced but this is the first time I felt this comfortable with and had this much faith in a piercer. On a whim, I decided I wanted to get my septum pierced. So of course I used my trusty Yelp app to find a place to get it done. I looked at a few place and came across TattooSmith and Piercing. I also checked their Instagram and Facebook and decided it was a go. I called to see their availability and they said piercing was on a first come first serve basis. I work a Monday-Friday, so I planned to go on a Friday so I could have the weekend to recover and get used to it. I walk in and the shop was very bright and clean. The guys working were very friendly, I was introduced to Frankie who'd be doing my piercing. He started the autoclave, we did the whole paperwork thing and moved to the back room, the dungeon is what Frankie called it. While we waited, I asked a plethora of questions, all of which I'm sure he's heard before but he answered every one and it definitely put me at ease. After everything was set, he reached up into my nose to feel for that "sweet spot", he said I was all sweet spot which made me feel okay since that means he couldn't miss it. He marked where the piercing would be and I was able to get a look at it, I agreed and he had me lay on the table. He told me to take a deep breath through my nose and exhale through my mouth and before I knew it, it'd be over. I did just as he said and honestly, I didn't feel a thing! On a scale of 1-10, definitely a 1. Even threading the jewelry through, which is my least favorite part was pain free! I would totally do it again!After it was over, he gave me sea salt for my twice a day nose soaks and gave me the aftercare guide. He also explained that if I need any more salt, jewelry came out, something feels different, anything, that I could come down and he'd look at everything for free. That is great stand up service. Best, easiest piercing I've ever gotten! I called ahead to make sure they would have time to get me in, and they informed me that piercings are done on a walk in basis. Frankie was so nice, walked me through the whole procedure and all the aftercare, answered questions and was so patient as I asked a ton of questions. I brought my 17 year old daughter here to get her nose pierced based off of the reviews that I read across various websites. I didn't want to take her to the mall where I wouldn't really know who was piercing her or what kind of work they did. Frankie was amazing. From the beginning, when we first walked in he was kind and engaging. He talked through the entire process with my daughter and would always stop and ask if we had any questions. I know that these days. nose piercings are about as common as getting your ears pierced. But this was a big deal for my daughter, and I felt like he gave us just as much attention and energy as he would have for a more intricate or complicated piercing. A small and random place but great nonetheless. I did not get anything done here myself, but I have been here on two separate occasions where close friends got their piercing and I was present for the whole process. They only have one piercer who is named Frankie Fingers (not sure if fingers is actually his real name) Frankie is incredibly knowledgeable and explains everything in a lot of detail. He was also very nice and reassured both my friends about all their worries. At this place they use a needle to do piercings which is what you should look for when getting your piercing done. If a gun is used, it is quite dangerous for most piercings other than the usual lobe, with a gun there is a much higher risk for some complications so it is great this place uses a needle. My first friend got a triple inverted helix piercing and with jewelry, it cost her around $180. This might sound like a lot but for 3 piercings and jewelry, it is honestly a great price. When we were in the piercing room, Frankie further explained things and also explained the process in which she should take care of her piercings. He made her feel very comfortable and the piercings were done like that. She said it hurt but it wasn't as bad as she thought. After the piecing was completed, he further explained how help with the healing process and told her if she had any questions or concerns, she could return and if anything was wrong then that could be fixed for free. He also provided a free bag of salt for a mixture for the healing process and a booklet to help her out. She was beyond happy with her piecing and the experience. When she returns to get her rods shorted in a couple of weeks, she will be also getting another piecing as she was so happy with her first one done by Frankie. My second friend got a double helix and with jewelry it cost her around $110, which is also a pretty good price. Again Frankie was super nice and knowledgeable and made her super comfortable. Frankie also remembered my first friend who got her piercing a week before this and checked on her also. And also again her explained everything very well and had some very encouraging words which actually might have prevented her from backing out. The process was quick but not painless (again with a needle) but she was super happy with her piecing and her experience at the end. To end I think this is an amazing place to get your piercing done. So happy I found this shop near my friends place. I was traveling and visiting my friend in Washington. My earring fell out in the midst of my travels and I didn't want my cartilage to close, so I stopped by a local shop and fell in love. Chill vibes and educated people. The piercer was really nice and knowledgeable! He put in the jewelry for free even! We continued our journey and a day or two later I looked at my ear and the opal was gone! The backing was still stuck in my ear though! I did t want to have to go to a different shop so we drove back to Everett and i was gonna buy a new stone but to my rescue he comped it for me for free! I went in to change my diamond nose piercing into a hoop, and I paid $15, plus Frankie (I believe) put it on for me. He was gentle and when I wanted to change the size of the hoop he did it with no problem. So I would recommend him if you want to get pierced! The people there are super friendly and welcoming! This past June I went to Mike for my first tattoo at 55 years old. I told him what I wanted and he sat down and free hand sketched what I told him, and he nailed it. Then he threw in just the right amount of color. I'm part of a motorcycle ministry in Southern Illinois.
