More like painful steel! Not my favorite piercer. They use cheap jewelry that is neither surgical grade stainless steel, nor internally threaded, and which commonly leads to infection and poor wound healing. Externally threaded posts are difficult to sterilize completely. Imagine trying to sterilize a finely threaded screw. Without an autoclave it's impossible. And I didn't see one in use in that capacity. I didn't become aware of any of these quality issues until after I was already pierced. I just assumed no reputable piercer would put that sort of substandard mystery alloy in my face. My mistake. Over a few wks the metal of my jewelry became porous and dull. The once clear gems turned brown, letting me know they were some sort of plastic or polymer, not CZ, as advertised. And my flesh began to reject them. This place is kickass. They take walk-ins AND they have 1/2 price piercings on Thursdays. They also do free tapering and jewelry change with only the cost of the jewelry you purchase. I went to several other places and they wanted to charge my sister $50 bucks just to have her belly button tapered. And they have amazing prices. I got my nose pierced and got a stainless steel hoop for 25 bucks. Piercing was half off so it was $15 and the hoop was $10. Both of the staff were cool as hell and made you feel comfortable. i love this place. it's very to the point and fast. i had my nose done and i didn't feel any type of pain. the guy was chill and everything was great. my nose at first didn't heal correctly only because i touched it. but after i went back and asked them what to do , everything was great and i've had my piercing in for about a year and i love it. im planning to go back on my 18th birthday. i'm definitely going back to this place. i recommend this place to anyone who wants a quick painless piercing. I had a great first piercing experience thanks to Jerry! He was very courteous and professional. My wife and I will definitely be coming back for any future piercings.  My kids (5 and 2) were able to sit with my wife in the room while I was getting my piercing done, they were excited to come along. Back in the Illinois (where we grew up) they wouldn't have even been allowed in the lobby. It was wonderful to have them there to share the experience. After the piercing Jerry went through the care instructions (which I was worried I would miss something) and then promptly handed me a aftercare brochure..whew /sigh of relief.Love the kilt! I came here the other night to get my nose pierced and it was great! I came in 25 minutes to closing and the piercer, Jerry, was helping someone else and by the time he was done, the shop was closing in ten minutes but he made time for me anyway and it was over so quick. Got my first tattoo tonight at Painless Steel and it was the best experience I could have ever hoped for. The artists were extremely nice and accommodating! The shop is very clean and you can really tell that the artists take extreme pride in their work. So I got my septum pierced here and they pierced it crooked.. like not a little bit crooked but COMPLETELY on opposite sides type of crooked. The piercer just kept saying "just pull on the side and twist it to fix it. My piercing was completely crooked and he didn't even give me the time of day to look at his work. His work was awful. It would have been honestly better if I pierced it myself. The next day I went in, to explain how awful the piercing was and they didn't even l...isten to me at all, and kept saying the same thing"just pull and keep twisting it" it was awful. So my best friend got her septum pierced here last night. He didn't use a clamp, he didn't put dots where the piercing should be. He just free handed the piercing. And he took FOREVER to get the needle through her nose. About 20 seconds to get the needle through her nose. And when we got home realized it was super crooked. So we came back in today and the guy that pierced it last night was there and a girl was there. And we explained what happened, and mind you we were super ...nice about it. The girl is basically laughing at us and saying "that's why you need to pull on the crooked side so it matches up". And she explained to them that she isn't going to just hope that it lines up perfectly just by twisting it sometimes. They gave her a card to get it repierced for free but honestly if that crappy of a job was done the first time why would she want to get it done there again...sorry but when you work in the customer service field you have to be understanding when a customer isn't satisfied with an experience. I've been coming here for all my tattoos and piercings. I have a bridge, belly and brow piercing, all done very well. I've gotten two tattoos from Eric, whose funny and does great ink. The piercer is also transgender friendly, which is nice. :-) would recommend coming here! Read Less

I got pierced by a man in a kilt.. don't know his name. I got my Travis pierced and he put a small hoop in it. It has never healed and I've had it in for about 6 months. A couple days ago I went to deep roots in Lynwood (kellen is the best piercer I know) and he took a look at my ear while I was getting another piercing. He said that the piercing had been rejected by my body because the hoop (which the guy pierced me with) was WAY too small for my ear and that the pierced should have never put that jewelry in my ear. I was really impressed to begin with at how clean the place was, but when I got my piercing done the girl pierced it really crooked. It was so noticeable that I had friends mentioning that they noticed it without me even telling them. One top of that, the prices were WAY too high.
