I am not an easy person to tattoo. I have cerebral palsy and that causes me to not be able to hold perfectly still. But with this last tat, I knew I had to find someone that would not be in a rush because it had to be perfect. This tattoo was super personal and it had to be just right. I tried several different shops before I came here. Everyone was rushed and seemed nervous about tattooing me, until I walked into this shop. Tom did my tattoo. He was patient when I explained ...why I wanted to change my design (poor guy) and immediately got into the new design and before long we were on the same page and I was on the table. So my 18 year old daughter got her very first tattoo ever yesterday and Mike was such a soulful funny sincere one of a kind dude that kept her laughing and at ease the whole time... Black Pearl kind of has the same feel as "Cheers" (it's a 80s TV show for those who aren't cool enough to remember the show) but still has that cool, uniqueness that a tattoo parlor should have. He did an awesome job on her tatoo and his sincere good nature was still presence even after the tat was finished. Was worried about us getting a taxi ride home instead of a tip. I was staying at the Great Wolf Lodge with my kids & my 14 yr old son came to me in a panic because he had lost his guages in the wave pool. It was 6:30 pm on a Sunday. I knew my only chance would be a tattoo shop so i called every single one on Google until someone answered!! She answered all my questions to the best of her ability (Im not very experienced with guages) and said she would be in the shop for another hour tops. I GPS'd it & rushed over there. Im 99% sure her na...me was Jo, as i lost her card while at the hotel, but she was so amazing! She was patient with me, she looked things up when she didnt have an answer to my question, she triple checked the sizes for me & then checked it again. I would say the best customer service I've received in a long time & recommend them by that alone! She could have been rude that i was rushing in at closing time, having no clue what i even wanted or needed, but she was so kind! A girl named Joe had the opportunity to tattoo my wife on a Sunday around 1800. They advertised and bragged about being open long hours, seven days per week. I called Joe twice to confirm the time and after our arrival, she made several references about getting out of there and time being an issue. The tattoo was simple and discussed in the previous phone calls. After noticing this, I asked if she would like us to reschedule. She quickly responded, "yes," and tried to take down our information. The shop very clean and the staff really nice. Everything is professional, the studio itself is bright, well lit and clean. Tom was my artist and i noticed how sterile he kept things from changing gloves, washing hands, etc. He was by the book. I did my homework and looked at all the other artist in the area and decided that his portfolio was what i was looking for. He came up with a drawing for my cover-up and placed it.
