I am currently walking around with a half finished half sleeve after spending at least 1200 so far.Now Archie is an amazing artist.  He has done a couple of my tattoos and I have nothing bad to say about the quality of work.  However I had made an appointment to finish my half sleeve, and two weeks prior I call to cancel and the female receptionist said I had nothing scheduled.  I said okay and thought it was the end.  Apparently not only was the appointment not canceled, I was expected to pay a larger deposit if I ever wanted to work with him because I cost him money.  I told him I was told I had no appointments and asked if I could make payments and he did not respond and blocked me instead.I am not saying he is a bad guy.  He is an amazing artist, but I wish there was more professionalism there.  I have to find a new artist now.  The art is 5 stars, but the lack of understanding is why I put 3 Read Less

Max was the sweetest, most gentle piercer I have ever had. He made me feel super comfortable. Disappointed. I recently called in asking if they could take a walk in, they said yes. Took me 9 minutes to get there and when i got there the girl at the front didn't even say anything just had her head down the entire time, she was sitting on her phone. I told her i called in about 10 min ago for a walk in, so she told some of the artists and they seemed to have scrambled to find someone to do my tattoo. That was red flag #1, I should have just walked out. Some man (never told me his name) asked me what i wanted, i told him i just wanted the cancer sign, and showed him a photo. He said "I can do that" I was like okay cool the shop minimum is $60 which is pretty good. He took about 20 min to prepare everything which i don't complain about because sanitary is key. He put the stencil on me and starts buzzing away, I have 5 other tattoos and he was the most heavy handed person i've received which made me concerned because if you go to deep it can cause blow out. Nonetheless i didn't say anything (mistake). It looked great after he wrapped it, then again i couldn't see it. When i got home to wash it and moisturize i was instantly disappointed. The lines are not even near clean, and it's like he never even used the stencil as a guide line. I'm not even sure if he was a artist. I didn't call to complain because i just want nothing to do with this place, i've been to 5 different places and have never had this experience. I don't even want them to touch it up i'll be going somewhere else for that.. and i tipped him $20 for telling me he had time for a walk in! Super disappointed but I am assuming not every artist here is like this because some of the photos on here are stunning. Word to the wise: for those artists that are great at this shop, LEAVE. I went to Action Tattoo in October 2018 to get some adjustments made to an existing tattoo I had gotten while traveling. My experience at Action Tattoo and specifically, my experience with the tattoo artist Cedar was phenomenal! I would definitely go back. Before going to Action Tattoo, I had gotten my initial tattoo work done at a different shop. The tattoo artist at that shop rushed through the work and left me with a $300 bill and a tattoo that looked bland and unfinished. I immediately knew I would need to go to another tattoo shop to have the piece reworked and brought up to the quality level that's worthy of being a permanent piece on my body. I looked around for good tattoo shops in my area and that's when I found Action Tattoo. I went in for a consultation and I was set up with Cedar. During the process, the artist was slow and precise, really taking the time to get every detail just right. The final piece looks far, far better than what it originally was. It's on a whole different level. I can't stop looking in the mirror at it. I can't and will not recommend this place. Came here to make an appointment. Gave them $40 and made arrangements with work. They specified and made sure that I cannot cancel or reschedule without 48 hours notice. I got a call less than 24 hours notice that they need to cancel my appointment because she overbooked. I find it annoying that they push about 48 hours notice and I didn't get that same courtesy. Again, making arrangements isn't easy to accommodate the available schedule and getting a short notice is very frustrating. Since they are technically canceling on me, I should get my deposit even though they didn't live up to their own policy. So basically I've lost my $40 and my time away from work. I went in to get body piercings in which I was very nervous yet I knew I was going to definitely get the piercings. Max was the piercer and he was very nice and reassuring that I could do it despite my nerves. Went in with my mother and wife to get some matching tattoos for Christmas. Contacted Lisa Hill on a recommendation and made an appointment that was within 10 days. Showed up for our appointment and she had the stencil ready for review and was completely ready to go. Got all three of us in and out under an hour and forty-five. Super fast and impeccable line work. Very measured hand that never felt like she was digging into us too bad. Very highly recommend and have plans to do more tattoos with Lisa. Backstory: I originally went to another local shop, whom I contacted through facebook initially, and had sent in my own drawing to see if one of their artist could put it on me. So they said of course, set me up with an appointment, and I went, only to leave this consultation completely embarrassed and upset. The artist I was supposed to meet with was busy tattooing somebody and sent his apprentice over, who told me that they weren't willing to put my own drawing on me UNLESS I allowed the tattoo artist to re-draw it and make it his own, because their artists "won't send out clients with substandard work", while pointing to my drawing. WOW! Mind you, when I first initially contacted them, I was very clear that I wanted my own drawing tattooed on me, and the receptionist agreed that they could do that. The apprentice continued to ramble about how the artists there need to be proud of their work, and when they tattoo people, it's like sending them out into the world with THEIR stamp, and yadda yadda yadda. Then when I asked if I could see what he comes up with before I commit, I was told I would have to pay a $80 non-refundable deposit but that it would go towards the tattoo. I said I would think about it and left.So then I turned to FB to voice my frustrations, and then a friend had recommended Ben with Action Tattoo. Gave me his email, and I sent him my drawing and was again clear about what I wanted, and you know what? He was the nicest guy ever. Said that yes, he could do this for me, BUT he highly recommended that I would let him redraw it to clean it up and make it more tattoo friendly so that it holds up over time, defining details, while keeping my concept. OF COURSE I agreed to that. Didn't make unnecessary comments about my drawing being "substandard". Didn't give me some high and mighty speech about his work and what his requirements were. THAT'S how you get business. Ben's redrawing exceeded my expectations. He kept my concept and made it a better tattoo than I ever imagined. I'm just blown away on how good it came out. I absolutely hate that I live in Arkansas now​ instead of Washington for two reasons. The first is Archie! He's such an awesome artist that doesn't just do whatever you give him and put it wherever you tell him then charge you an arm and a leg to get it done. Went in for my first tattoo last weekend and seeing as how it was my first, I do wish things would have been explained a little better (more in depth) and I could have been informed a little more as to what he was doing and the procedures on stuff. On any piercing I've ever had in my lifetime, everything going on was explained in so much depth that I didn't really have any questions. But I also don't know if that's normal or if that's just the customer service side of me expecting more than I should. I asked a lot of questions and got clarification on the things that I needed-which anyone should do especially when it comes to a tattoo. I did feel a little rushed. Things happened really fast but that also could have been my nerves or just the way things usually go when it comes to a tattoo shop. I mean people don't go there just to hang out right?! I was recommended to come to this shop after a family member of mine came here a few months ago and I will say that overall I am very happy with how my tattoo turned out. The aura was good and the lady and the front counter was SO awesome! She made good conversation with me and truly eased my mind on my "fears" and first time nerves. I went in with a basic idea of what I thought I wanted. I talked with Lisa for a few minutes telling her what I thought and left her a basic sketch. A week later she showed me her sketch and it was no where close to anything I imagined, by far better. Stopped in to book an appointment and spoke with the owner Rich and two employees. All were helpful and immediately recommended Justin Shelton when I mentioned traditional. They had me check out his portfolio and I booked an appointment. At the appointment Justin offered some design ideas based on the source material I sent him and after a few changes he got to work. Dez was AMAZING! I was skeptical about getting my septum pierced because of my last piercing experience else where. She was super chill, chatted with me, walked me through everything before she did anything and then talked to me and told me step by step what she was doing while she was doing it. I completed my third tattoo with Rich White earlier in the year (2016) and each time has been a very positive experience.  All of the artists in the shop seem great, but Rich caught my eye because of his portraiture portfolio.  Two of my tattoo's are images of cats that I lost, each one looks just like the picture that I brought in.  My third is a Steamboat Willie, just for fun :-)I needed a little touch-up on the second cat tattoo because my skin became so inflamed and irritated that Rich wasn't comfortable finishing in one day -- I'll take his judgement any day on that!All look wonderful now and I'm glad I chose these folks.  Will definitely continue to work with Rich and the others at Action in the future. I had a tattoo done by Archie last month. He is the best tattoo artist there. He did a tattoo of my cat and had the outline done in an hour. Other artists (at other shops) have taken several hours just to do an outline but he got it done quick. My whole tattoo which takes up the entire area of my inner arm took about 6 hours and it was done in ONE session (aside from a couple touch ups needed due to my arm being DONE with ink after that many hours.)I am very pleased with the service and price, I feel like he could definitely charge more if he wanted. I will definitely go back to him for all my future tattoos including finishing my sleeve. I Have been tattooed by at least 10-12 different people but I am not ever going to go to another artist. HIGHLY DISSATISFIED PLEASE READ BEFORE GETTING PIERCING! I am a store manager at a small business, and am allowed to have my nostril pierced with a small stone, so I came into Action tattoo since they seemed to have good ratings, and reviews. My piercer was Chris, I told him from previous experience that my nose tends to swell more than the normal person and asked him to make the post a little longer to give it room to breath. Instead he made the post too short causing it to embed inside my nose, making me unable to flip the nose ring so it wasn't visible from the inside. I came in twice to have him change the jewelry, both times he was unavailable. I delt with the pain for more than a week, then came in today to have the worst experience I have ever had in my life, I've had over 20 piercings since I was 18 never had issues. I came in to have Chris change the jewelry, I suggested a hoop since I figured it would heal easier. Instead he decides to put a lip ring in my nostril, I didn't realize how large it actually was, nor did I know he was going to have such a hard time putting it in. It was the worst pain I have ever experienced, having 7 tattoos and have had many piercings that's saying a lot. I notice I am bleeding, and ask him to clean it off, he begins to get frustrated. He was very rude, uncaring, and thought he knew what was best since "he's been piercing for 19 years." I got out to my car after being in excruciating pain, and look at my nose, swollen, red, bloody, and the nose ring is sticking about half a cm out of my nose. I am and was not satisfied, went inside to ask for a refund since as soon as it doesn't hurt so badly, I will remove it myself. The way he responded was the most shocking, totally rude and refusing to give me the refund. Told me he would put the hoop in, but I can't believe he would even suggest that since I am in so much pain, and it looks so horrible. This guy should not be a piercer, he has absolutely no customer service whatsoever! I will never return to this place, and I feel sorry for his apprentice, she should go to a different shop, and train with someone who knows what they are doing and won't be a total waste of her time. 10 piercings over 8 years, all done in different shops, and I used to think Slave to the Needle was the best but I was pierced by someone who apprenticed at Slave back in the day and it was the best experience of my modification career. Chris did two dermals in the back of neck, I had originally called in for a surface bar but he reassured me that dermals were a much better option, and I was so relaxed, it didn't even hurt much at all. I've taken my (adult) daughter in for two ear piercings.  I am not a tattoo person. That's probably an understatement.  Not that there's anything wrong with being a tattoo person, but sometimes it's nice to know who is reviewing what.Only warning - they only accept ca$h..Anyway, they're nice, they're polite, and it's clean.  My daughter claimed they were quick and accurate in driving a needle through wherever she wanted it driven through in her ear.  If she decides she needs more holes in her head as a Christmas present, we'll be back! Especially in tattooing, customer service and friendly attitudes are a big deal to me.  You walk in and the shop looks amazing.  They are blaring hardcore metal music, which is their taste, but it could be more of a level where I didn't have to ask them to turn it down to even hear them talk.I arrive 30 minutes before my appointment and Im not greeted.  I eventually had to hunt down a guy not inking someone to just let them know I was there.  Strike one.  He was excessively rude and not very approachable.  He smelled.  They were openly using e-cigarette vapor things which is another thing I frowned on.They had my artwork for a week and it wasn't even ready on transfer paper.  He said "No problem" and told me to have a seat.  My appointment was at 3 PM and at 3:47 he came up and said "Yeah I couldn't get it to trace right, it pixelated when I blew it up in Photoshop".  So then I asked him if he changed his DPI settings to handle it at higher resolution (I have a graphic design degree) and he looked at me like I was speaking greek.He then said "Well its not really my type of tattoo I do".  Then why did you take the damn appointment?  Why did you make me wait for an hour and a half?  And then he said "I just find the subject matter kind of dumb".  So.  Unprofessional?  Check.  Rude?  Check.  Ignorant about his job?  Check.Why you would go here after reading this review I have NO idea.For you piercers out there:Two ladies walked in and the guy guy with huge holes in his ears yells "WHATCHA HERE FOR?!" This place is very rude.The lady at the front desk made no effort to try and fit me in so I could get my sleeve completed, she was rude and gave no effort to compromise with me, she made no effort to make sure that I would want to come back. She had a snippy attitude with me right from the moment i walked in the door at 1100, she rolled her eyes when I had asked if I could get a tattoo today and immediately said no because most artist didn't come in until 100PM. I asked her if she could look on their schedules to see if they could fit me in she looked at me and said no it would be a waste of her time.I would give it no stars if I could, very rude and uncaring staff. I was recommended by two friends to meet Archie, and watch what he does best. Walking into Action Tattoo is like walking into an art gallery. It's all open, so you can see everyone getting tattooed, but you can still have a private conversation with your artist. Everyone there is family, and I felt welcomed there even though I wasn't getting tattooed. I ended up getting tatted by Archie after watching him do a session. I have a black, white, and grey portrait of a young Marilyn Monroe, located on my outer left thigh. This is my biggest piece and longest session I have ever done, and it was a piece of cake! I was the most hated of customers: the walk in. My cousin and I decided to get tattoos together today, instead of waiting till after I found a shop up here. After a few minutes of research, I decided to check out this place first. Honestly, the price was a little higher than what I had self estimated, but I liked the vibe and cleanliness of the shop, and the guys all seemed qualified and able, especially since they were squeezing us into their schedule.Boy did we choose right! I was lucky enough to get mine done by Rich, the owner. He was funny, friendly, quick and light handed (this was tattoo number 5, first one on my foot though). His lines are CLEAN. He obviously takes pride in his work, and I was impressed that he enjoys drawing them on by hand. I already have several more planned, and while I was Initially going to hunt around (they are more detailed than the quickie I got today), I am already done looking! He even seemed excited to do flowers (part of my next set). Thank you so much everyone for beautiful work, friendly attitudes, and a sweet clean place to get art!
