Don't let the gaudy décor fool you. All this place wants is to take your money, stick on a decent-at-best tattoo on you, and expect you to tip on top. Let me tell you : I was an apprentice here with Paul Loh--the owner and head tattoo "artist" for 8 weeks, and the way he treated people was subhuman--nevermind me as the apprentice, but random customers as well.If you want to APPRENTICE HERE DO NOT DO IT. If you want a tattoo here (can skip this paragraph):: Even to his apprentices before me he would list all the things they did for him and then just splatter negative comments about them like they never did squat for him. I don't even want to get into how he treated me, but I will give this one example : I was sick w the flu for 5 days bedridden and the day I come back he questions whether I was really sick or not (probably because they had a few rough days without me) and only 1 hour back and he sends me to do lawn work @ his private residence 20 miles back where I just came from, at traffic hour). I don't even want to get into how he expected me to pay $10,000 for his false promises and straight up lies he set me up to hope for. Feel free to check out forums online for how ridiculous this treatment is in 2019. I don't care how "old school" your methods, there's a reason why his apprentices are all gone (some barely lasted a few weeks because of his terrible lack of humaneness.) Oh, and the work you'll get here ? 210/hr are you shitting me? Go peruse his IG and see that his work is average at best. The potential is there and the reputation for having a brief TV stint or 2 you can ride on for so long, but the end result is a definite dingleberry on your flesh that you will have marked there forever which you just busted out several hundred dollars for. I've had work from masterful, TRUE ARTISTS (with 200k + followers that were NOT bought) for less than 150/hr in Los Angeles. He can't even bother to give you, a paying customer, the aftercare instructions due to some holier-than-thou, preconceived, ignorant notion in his head !!!! WOW. & Mind you I've served A-class celebs in Hollywood from Denzel Washington to Anthony Bourdain, Lady Gaga, Courtney Love and Leonardo DiCaprio to name only a handful--and NONE have treated ANYONE NEAR to what this guy does to people( EVEN people who PAY HIM their MONEY). Case in point one elderly gentleman came in to buy a $300 gift certificate and after all is said and done Paul throws the customer the gift cert like it's a crumpled dollar bill at a strip joint. Fucking criminy. Here's a few more kickers ::Paul and his lackeys definitely have said the "n" word on occasion. Matter fact, any racism is OK as long as that race is not present in the shop at the current time (so they can take their money from them.) Pedophilia is a more-than-OK topic to discuss as normal banter--even w the manager lady who has 4 girls of her own. Disgusting. And get this : even though there's a sign that says "no children allowed" it's really just based on their mood and whether cool people are present to accept them or not. Actually, it's because the owner of the shop, Paul, hates children and he even yelled at the top of his lungs at a little girl no more than 6 years old for putting her hands on the glass to peek inside. Not just any child, but his neighboring shop's child who plays around there daily. I know, because I was washing those windows at the very moment it happened. . And the peanut gallery was stone silent. . . What a despicable shame. And he doesn't even support his own team he barely compliments them but fishes for compliments for his own average work. In a nutshell : This place looks pretty on the outside but it is just a false façade of pretense and cockamamie over-exorbitance to hide its ugly, pitiful underbelly. If anything he should have paid the customers who even helped him with the sign-postage, wallpapering and décor (he schemed his way into getting them to work for them for free). The only saving grace is Kim and Danielle the piercer (and she's gone now--wonder why). Good luck finding apprentices and coworkers w that attitude, buddy. Trash !!!!!!!

I LOVE IT I LOVE IT! This place is amazing, Paul is the greatest artist in the DMV and nicest person you could have while getting inked up. Everyone there is super chill and down to earth, you feel welcomed into the shop where with other shops sometimes you feel intimidated and not really sure what todo, here though. You can ask all the questions possible and they'll take there time to answer everything so you can feel comfortable with the new tattoo you're about to get. That to me shows how much everyone there cares, I work in the industry as a bartender so making connections with people and having them enjoy them self's is what it's all about and Paul is second to none with the hospitality he provides. Everyone there is a true artist and it shows with the care and quality that they put into every piece. Paul definitely has the lightest touch/hands in the business (LOL) I just got my hand tatted and not once did I flinch and even after the first day my hand feels amazing. No soreness or tenderness. The shop it's self looks like something you see on tv, it's really pretty all through out with amazing decor and almost fancy in a way with the lights and chandeliers! The willingness and dedication that the crew and Paul have is crazy! I'm moving out of state soon and Paul was able to fit me in with his crazy schedule and set me up with this beautiful piece that is gonna be hard for me to top next but I can't wait to come back and more done from him! Absolutely everyone needs to come to 407 and meet the crew and get all the work done there! BEST PLACE EVER!!!

The 407 Tattoo & Piercing shop was very welcoming, clean and professional. Danielle (piercer) was awesome! She was more than willing to answer any questions, go over information and explained each step of the process. I had my cartilage and 3rd lobe pierced, and it was super fast and relatively painless. The shop also offers a discount if you receive multiple piercings. From what I understood, each piercing is $60, but it's a great price for the service they provide! If you are looking to get any piercings, I highly recommend 407 and Danielle!

Me and my best friend just went to see Paul this weekend who we knew in high school. We traveled in from NC specifically to see Paul. We figured if we were gonna get a tattoo, we might as well get one from the best. Paul did not disappoint. We did not get a big elaborate tattoo, but just a small symbol. Either way, he made us feel comfortable, was gentle and always made us laugh. Thanks again Paul for the reunion and the great, fun experience that we will always remember! The place where we got our first tattoo and no complain at all. First, the ladies were efficient on their work. Im talking about the receptionist and Kim (our tattoo artist). They were both pleasant during our session which makes us feel at ease. The place was very clean and well put together. There is small waiting area where companion can wait. Though they allowed us to go in and watch the tattoo get done. The best part is we felt welcome and valued as customer. I don't have place to compare since it's my first tattoo but I would say this place is awesome and the job done is of good quality. We got our tattoos how we want it. I think if they're busy or it's peak season, you will need to set an appointment. We got lucky they weren't busy that day.For price, even though I get nowhere else to compare, I think is quite pricey.. i don't if it's the same for every artist they have but Kim is charging $150 per hour. Ours took 3 hours (2.5 for mine...) so my bf paid $450... I think it's a lot of money... well, it was a Christmas present for me. Anyways, overall, I'm satisfied and recommend this place... I already am planning to get another one...

The most important thing from my understanding is capturing the expectation of the person who wants to get the tattoo and the design has to match those expectations. Paul, as always, and Crew nail it every single time. I walk into the studio with an open mind and let them guide me in how to incorporate what i want into what they thing is best. A few years ago I went to the 407 before it even opened to meet with Paul and discuss a tattoo for my dog Neiko. Neiko was alive and well yet I needed to have him with me always. I came with a design in mind and Neiko's face, and Paul did the rest. The shop wasn't open yet, and no heat, but with the space heaters going, Paul did his magic. I loved it the minute he finished. His passion for details and perfection is extraordinary. Neiko passed suddenly less then a year ago. This tattoo means so much more to me now. Paul captured Neiko's spirit in his eyes and given me the opportunity to see my Neiko everyday. His talent and kindness and just plain badassery puts him on a level next to no one else.

He and the artists make the work environment really fun and enjoyable. All the guests are treated with respect and hospitality. The shop is also the cleanest tattoo studio I’ve been in. I’m here every business day to ensure of it. I have previous work in the dental field and Paul’s standards of cleanliness definitely rise above even those of the dental office I worked at. I decided a few years back I no longer wanted to pursue a career in the dental field but would rather take my passion for art and tattooing further. I couldn’t be happier to have found Paul. His technical abilities and talent are incredible. I’m excited to have him as a mentor and I would highly recommend the 407 Tattoo Studio to anyone looking to get a tattoo.

Paul's portfolio speaks for itself; great artistic abilities, tight lines, great saturation and just an overall clean tattoo all around. Flexibility on both sides was key to getting my Aztec Polynesian 3/4 sleeve done in 5 months. I came in with a design that wouldn't quite fit my arm, so Paul modified it brilliantly. It is probably 20% my original stencil and the rest was drawn free-hand by Paul.I actually enjoyed the atmosphere, contrary to some reviews. This is a tattoo shop not a prayer meeting so if u have thin skin or delicate feelings, best go somewhere else. But if u want a great tattoo go see Paul.I'll also say I have observed their other artist's work over the last 5 months and Kim is pretty solid as well.

There may be a wait but it's well worth his meticulous designs with the line work. They are never pushy about a design and customer service is great despite what others may have posted in the past.

After my experience today I am extremely surprised this shop has almost 5 stars. My experience today was anything but pleasant. My mom and I walked in to get a tattoo, asked about the price and time of the appointment. The front desk lady let us know the price and time. Since there are no children allowed at the shop, we stated that we would have to arrange to have someone take care of my younger sister. The owner of the shop (who we weren't even speaking to) got involved in the conversation and said, "if you go somewhere cheaper it will suck." His lack of professionalism was beyond me. He jumped to conclusions and made assumptions on top of making my mom and I feel disrespected. You can do amazing work but if you have no respect for your clients or know the meaning of good customer service then "YOUR WORK SUCKS!" If you guys are looking for a tattoo shop that has respects for its client and knows what good customer service is then go to HYBRID tattoo. :)

I have known Paul for about 2 years now. I started as client when I was introduced to Paul from a military friend. I wanted a tattoo and got an appointment 6 months later. My friend and I would go to the shop to hang out and I saw how he interacted with other people. Paul is arrogant as hell, but never disrespectful. I've seen people walk in and want a same day tattoo, and he let's them know the wait time. If you want a tattoo, there are plenty of places to go with less wait, if you want one from Paul you have to wait like everyone else. The next tattoo that I wanted I had a 12 month wait. I consider myself a friend and still get put on that same list. His clients are diverse and have never heard him say anything racist about anyone that walks into his door. It is a business and the schedule is the schedule why would he turn down business from anyone? If I want just any run of the mill tattoo in a short time frame then I'll so somewhere else. If i want one from Paul, I get on his schedule.

I looked around for awhile to find a artist that fit my style since moving to the DC area and found it at 407 Tattoo. Paul Loh was a perfect fit for me only bad part is I'm not the only one to see how talented he is so I waited almost 10 months for my appointment. I found 407 Tattoo to be more professional than any other shop I have been to in the past. They called me 4 months early as they had a cancellation and wanted to know if I was interested in moving up my appointment. To bad I was out of town for that date. Michelle called me several days before my appointment to ensure that I had not forgotten the date and time. Arriving to my appointment Michelle greeted me with a friendly smile and explained the paperwork that I needed to fill out. Paul greeted by name which was very nice since we only talked once before for less than 10 minutes almost a year earlier. We talked about his ideas for my tat as he prepared his work station. Paul has a very light hand! Trust me when I say that as he was sling ink on the top of my foot. This was the second time for me doing this part of the body and it is the most painful one for me. My tat came out great and I can't wait to have my next sitting for the color. I really loved my experience at 407 Tattoo and can't wait to see you again!

This place is awesome. The place is super clean and Paul sterilizes everything. Paul is the best tattoo artist I've ever seen. He is awesome, funny, and gentle handed. My wife got her first tattoo from him and it was across the entire upper back, so pretty large, and she was very comfortable during the entire process. If you go anywhere else, you are missing the best artist. He is worth every dime and minute. He books fast, so book him as soon as possible. If you can't get him, he has amazing guest artist come every month to pick up clients. If he brings them in, you know they have to great too. Overall he is an artist that actually cares about you and your tattoo more than anything. Definite my top choice for all my tattoos.

If you're looking to get tattoo from an artist who not only cares about his craft but his clients as well then Paul and his tattoo studio is the place for you to go. I just had my second visit with his guest artist, Maki. I went to this place the first time because of the reviews I read and I went back because of the quality of work Maki did for me. I'm writing this review because Paul dealt with my unique previous deposit situation without looking at me or treating me like what I was saying was bullshit. He approached the issue before knowing that I had my credit card statement information and previous tattoo date with me. He listened to what I had to say and we worked out the kinks from my previous visit. It was a pleasure to deal with him knowing he was listening to the situation the last visit had left us with. Paul has a long client waiting list for a reason. He isn't going to just tattoo you without making sure you have done your research on his work or even his guest artists. He has a passion for his art and his studio which shows in the way with which he treats the people who walk in. Paul- thanks for another great tattoo experience with Maki and I hope to see her soon in the near future.

I think it's so funny that this place has 5 stars. My experience was awkward and unsatisfying. I wanted a Bobby Pin on my wrist, I'm a hairdresser and I just wanted something dainty and I fell in love with this idea. The owner Paul Loh told me (after showing me all his very detailed work) that it may just be a Bobby pin but it's very easy to fuck up. I respected that he wanted to take his time even though it was something so simple. So I had good vibes leaving! After waiting 6 weeks (for an hour slot) and feeling totally comfortable with 407 Tattoo, the day of my appointment was a completely different experience. His dog kept attacking my feet, nearly ripping my sandal apart, it only took him 20 minutes to figure out his dog was now making me uncomfortable and shamed me for making him put his dog in the back. Now 20mins of waiting he come back out of his little room and said "Just a Bobby pin, right?" I handed him and actual Bobby pin, the shape and size that I desired. He went to the back again thinking he would just scan it but he didn't. He came back with a very cartoon-ish looking Bobby Pin. Way too dramatic. And I hate confrontation but I had to speak up and be assured that, that wasn't going to be the permanent marking on my body. He was so annoyed and it was unsettling. He took only 15 minutes on the tattoo (so much for quality of time). My end result is ok. The side of this Bobby Pin is not realistic in shape or size to any Bobby pin I've ever seen. For really gloating about his talent he really did a fabulous job at making me feel less important than some who wants something big and extravagant. Guess you have to drop a pretty penny in order to get what you want or better yet satisfied. When people ask about my tattoo I tell people exactly who did it. And he will never have a recommendation by me. I can live with the tattoo but dude, work on your customer service. I left pretty pissed.

Paul Loh is amazing! He was able to work his magic on a horribly done mandala tattoo of mine and make it look 100 times better. He was very honest with me from the beginning saying he would try his best because it was a challenging piece for him to fix, but I am extremely happy with what he what he was able to do. What I liked best was that he discussed with me what was wrong with my tattoo and how he planned to fix it. He talked me through the process, and it made the process a lot more comfortable. Paul is very friendly and personable so I felt very relaxed during the entire session. I definitely recommend Paul, he's worth the wait.

Honestly, 5 stars isn't enough to show how amazing of a shop 407 is. I've gotten 3 pieces done with him, lettering, a tribal, and a large koi cover up. The first time I walked into the shop Paul was super friendly and helped keep me at ease once he knew how bad my first tattoo was (different shop). He works with you and helps turn your ideas into a reality. Yeah he has a long wait list, but that should tell you exactly how good he is. Looking forward to getting another one done with him soon.

I got a daith piercing from Gene. It was my 16th piercing ever...so been to a few folks. She's definitely an experienced professional. I was indecisive and she was patient and helpful. The atmosphere is the coolest I have seen in a tattoo spot and they take all safety/health precautions as they should. The spot is clean, and welcoming. I recommend this place! They're a good team that clearly care about quality work and people. I'll be back.

He understands the business of tattoos in all aspects and is a rising star in this industry. His shop is extremely clean. Paul understands the importance that clinical cleanliness plays in the initial framework of body art. He takes every measure to ensure you receive a healthy tattoo. Paul has an amazing bedside manner. He instinctively knows that developing a rapport with his client is critical in building trust and making them feel at ease with a permanent procedure. Paul is also an educated businessman. He knows the value of his product and caters to those that can afford that luxury. His prices are based on his knowledge of the market and his assessment of his skills. Paul's work is a great value in my opinion and I believe you will be completely satisfied with your experience. Paul is currently in high demand as a result; so expect to be on a waiting list. Paul is currently a solo artist but has assembled a great team to assist him. Paul puts his clients first and makes every reasonable effort to accommodate them. In closing, I believe Paul believes in perfecting his craft and dedicates himself to doing so with every piece. Do you want a tattoo and don't know where to start? Do you have a tattoo already and want to get more? If you answer yes to either question, then look no further than Paul Loh at 407 Tattoo in Woodbridge. The 407 Tattoo parlor is quite possible the best place to get a tattoo that I have ever been to. Having several myself I wanted to find a local artist with good references and reputation. 407 Tattoo is located next to Dixie Bones in Woodbridge just off Rt. 1. When you enter the shop you are welcomed as an old friend. Paul takes the time to get to know people coming in. I have been to him twice for a leg gauntlet and my experiences continue to be better than expected. The shop itself is very clean. The restrooms are clean, everything is sterilized and Paul takes extra care to stress the clean theme. His office manager Stewart is also really cool and down to earth. I found Stewart to be helpful and easy to talk with. The atmosphere looks like a tattoo studio, however there is no heavy metal blasted, it is not loud and people don't sit around and hang out. While Paul is friendly he is also very professional in both his opinions and his work. If you have an idea, Paul will tell you if it works or not. He is also extremely light handed. When I first heard that I was skeptical however after two sessions the rumors are true, especially after being tattooed on and below the ankle. Paul takes extra care to clean the tattoo after the session is done and makes sure the client understands the after care process. So if you want get a tattoo from a true professional who knows his work, is friendly and welcoming and has a staff beyond compare, stop into 407 Tattoo; trust me, you won't regret it.

Paul is definitely the best tattoo artist around here. You get what you pay for; Paul is amazing at what he does and his cleanliness is what you NEED from a tattoo artist. I am very impressed on how he took over a bad tattoo shop, completely renovated the place, and is KILLING it right now.Both of my tattoos are from Paul and I would recommend him because I've handled 4+ hour sessions at a time because of his light hand. He is very out-going and creative when it comes to your tattoo ideas. The main things you want when getting a tattoo is a clean environment, a guarantee that your tattoo won't come out looking like crap, that it will heal correctly and to know your tattoo artist is passionate at what he/she does. There is a reason why there is a wait time for his tattoos, book one now!

I have been going to Paul for tattoos for many years and have referred several people to him, including my mother. 407 is in an easy to find location right on Occoquan road and has ample parking in the back. Paul and his staff are extremely friendly and greet you immediately when you walk in, rather than letting you wander around awkwardly. It also helps that the decor is pleasant and welcoming, with painted walls and wood flooring rather than white-washed walls with old carpet that you see at so many other shops. I love that the clientele is so varied here- you have everyone from the preppy country club mom to heavily tattooed bikers and all receive the same level of top-notch service.The tattoo and piercing areas are right out in the open, so all their work is very transparent (I have a feeling that if you have privacy concerns, they would more than happy to accommodate you). Paul is a great artist and will work with you to come up with a tattoo that you love. He draws it with you there so that if you don't like something, you can make changes. When it comes time for the actual tattooing, I feel really comfortable at 407. Paul chats with you while you're sitting, but is intently focused on the task at hand. The work is flawless, with crisp lines. Because he takes so much time in the preparatory stage, you will get a perfectly placed and sized piece of art. The shop is extremely sterile. New needles, fresh ink, table coverings, etc. In fact, Paul is so concerned with cleanliness, he has even put toilet seat cleaner in the restroom! If you're hungry, there is a designated eating area and food trash is separate from tattoo/piercing trash. The part-time office manager, Stewart, is super friendly and handles the scheduling and paperwork with ease. 407 accepts credit card payments as well as credit card tips (of course, cash tips are preferred in any industry), which makes payment a breeze. Appointments are required and Paul is often booked out several months, but it is worth the wait. He does free consultations (deposit required if you schedule an appointment after your consultation). His pricing is extremely fair. Follow the aftercare instructions (if you lose them, they are available on his website), and your tattoo will be perfect! I have had three tattoos done by Paul (2 small and 1 large) and one by another artist and while the one by the other artist is faded and scarred after just a short time, all three by Paul look great and healed like they should.

I recently got some piercings done by Liz & can't say enough about how happy I am that I chose The 407 Tattoo & Piercing Studio. Liz took the time to be accurate with my piercings and answered all my questions before hand, during, & after. I also enjoyed meeting Paul. He was doing a tattoo when I arrived but I still got the chance to meet him and see the tattoo he was working on. He is very detail oriented and his lines are crisp! The next tattoo I get will be done at The 407 Tattoo & Piercing Studio! -Tiffany aka LeeAnn ;)

Don't let the gaudy décor fool you. All this place wants is to take your money, stick on a decent-at-best tattoo on you, and expect you to tip on top. Let me tell you : I was an apprentice here with Paul Loh--the owner and head tattoo "artist" for 8 weeks, and the way he treated people was subhuman--nevermind me as the apprentice, but random customers as well.If you want to APPRENTICE HERE DO NOT DO IT. If you want a tattoo here (can skip this paragraph):: Even to his apprentices before me he would list all the things they did for him and then just splatter negative comments about them like they never did squat for him. I don't even want to get into how he treated me, but I will give this one example : I was sick w the flu for 5 days bedridden and the day I come back he questions whether I was really sick or not (probably because they had a few rough days without me) and only 1 hour back and he sends me to do lawn work @ his private residence 20 miles back where I just came from, at traffic hour). I don't even want to get into how he expected me to pay $10,000 for his false promises and straight up lies he set me up to hope for. Feel free to check out forums online for how ridiculous this treatment is in 2019. I don't care how "old school" your methods, there's a reason why his apprentices are all gone (some barely lasted a few weeks because of his terrible lack of humaneness.) Oh, and the work you'll get here ? 210/hr are you shitting me? Go peruse his IG and see that his work is average at best. The potential is there and the reputation for having a brief TV stint or 2 you can ride on for so long, but the end result is a definite dingleberry on your flesh that you will have marked there forever which you just busted out several hundred dollars for. I've had work from masterful, TRUE ARTISTS (with 200k + followers that were NOT bought) for less than 150/hr in Los Angeles. He can't even bother to give you, a paying customer, the aftercare instructions due to some holier-than-thou, preconceived, ignorant notion in his head !!!! WOW. & Mind you I've served A-class celebs in Hollywood from Denzel Washington to Anthony Bourdain, Lady Gaga, Courtney Love and Leonardo DiCaprio to name only a handful--and NONE have treated ANYONE NEAR to what this guy does to people( EVEN people who PAY HIM their MONEY). Case in point one elderly gentleman came in to buy a $300 gift certificate and after all is said and done Paul throws the customer the gift cert like it's a crumpled dollar bill at a strip joint. Fucking criminy. Here's a few more kickers ::Paul and his lackeys definitely have said the "n" word on occasion. Matter fact, any racism is OK as long as that race is not present in the shop at the current time (so they can take their money from them.) Pedophilia is a more-than-OK topic to discuss as normal banter--even w the manager lady who has 4 girls of her own. Disgusting. And get this : even though there's a sign that says "no children allowed" it's really just based on their mood and whether cool people are present to accept them or not. Actually, it's because the owner of the shop, Paul, hates children and he even yelled at the top of his lungs at a little girl no more than 6 years old for putting her hands on the glass to peek inside. Not just any child, but his neighboring shop's child who plays around there daily. I know, because I was washing those windows at the very moment it happened. . And the peanut gallery was stone silent. . . What a despicable shame. And he doesn't even support his own team he barely compliments them but fishes for compliments for his own average work. In a nutshell : This place looks pretty on the outside but it is just a false façade of pretense and cockamamie over-exorbitance to hide its ugly, pitiful underbelly. If anything he should have paid the customers who even helped him with the sign-postage, wallpapering and décor (he schemed his way into getting them to work for them for free). The only saving grace is Kim and Danielle the piercer (and she's gone now--wonder why). Good luck finding apprentices and coworkers w that attitude, buddy. Trash !!!!!!!

I LOVE IT I LOVE IT! This place is amazing, Paul is the greatest artist in the DMV and nicest person you could have while getting inked up. Everyone there is super chill and down to earth, you feel welcomed into the shop where with other shops sometimes you feel intimidated and not really sure what todo, here though. You can ask all the questions possible and they'll take there time to answer everything so you can feel comfortable with the new tattoo you're about to get. That to me shows how much everyone there cares, I work in the industry as a bartender so making connections with people and having them enjoy them self's is what it's all about and Paul is second to none with the hospitality he provides. Everyone there is a true artist and it shows with the care and quality that they put into every piece. Paul definitely has the lightest touch/hands in the business (LOL) I just got my hand tatted and not once did I flinch and even after the first day my hand feels amazing. No soreness or tenderness. The shop it's self looks like something you see on tv, it's really pretty all through out with amazing decor and almost fancy in a way with the lights and chandeliers! The willingness and dedication that the crew and Paul have is crazy! I'm moving out of state soon and Paul was able to fit me in with his crazy schedule and set me up with this beautiful piece that is gonna be hard for me to top next but I can't wait to come back and more done from him! She was more than willing to answer any questions, go over information and explained each step of the process. I had my cartilage and 3rd lobe pierced, and it was super fast and relatively painless. The shop also offers a discount if you receive multiple piercings. From what I understood, each piercing is $60, but it's a great price for the service they provide! If you are looking to get any piercings, I highly recommend 407 and Danielle!

Me and my best friend just went to see Paul this weekend who we knew in high school. We traveled in from NC specifically to see Paul. We figured if we were gonna get a tattoo, we might as well get one from the best. Paul did not disappoint. We did not get a big elaborate tattoo, but just a small symbol. The place where we got our first tattoo and no complain at all. First, the ladies were efficient on their work. Im talking about the receptionist and Kim (our tattoo artist). They were both pleasant during our session which makes us feel at ease. The place was very clean and well put together. There is small waiting area where companion can wait. Though they allowed us to go in and watch the tattoo get done. The best part is we felt welcome and valued as customer. I don't have place to compare since it's my first tattoo but I would say this place is awesome and the job done is of good quality. We got our tattoos how we want it. I think if they're busy or it's peak season, you will need to set an appointment. We got lucky they weren't busy that day.For price, even though I get nowhere else to compare, I think is quite pricey.. i don't if it's the same for every artist they have but Kim is charging $150 per hour. Ours took 3 hours (2.5 for mine...) so my bf paid $450... I think it's a lot of money... well, it was a Christmas present for me. Anyways, overall, I'm satisfied and recommend this place... I already am planning to get another one...

A few years ago I went to the 407 before it even opened to meet with Paul and discuss a tattoo for my dog Neiko. Neiko was alive and well yet I needed to have him with me always. I came with a design in mind and Neiko's face, and Paul did the rest. The shop wasn't open yet, and no heat, but with the space heaters going, Paul did his magic. I loved it the minute he finished. His passion for details and perfection is extraordinary. Neiko passed suddenly less then a year ago. This tattoo means so much more to me now. Paul captured Neiko's spirit in his eyes and given me the opportunity to see my Neiko everyday. His talent and kindness and just plain badassery puts him on a level next to no one else.

Flexibility on both sides was key to getting my Aztec Polynesian 3/4 sleeve done in 5 months. I came in with a design that wouldn't quite fit my arm, so Paul modified it brilliantly. It is probably 20% my original stencil and the rest was drawn free-hand by Paul.I actually enjoyed the atmosphere, contrary to some reviews. This is a tattoo shop not a prayer meeting so if u have thin skin or delicate feelings, best go somewhere else. But if u want a great tattoo go see Paul.I'll also say I have observed their other artist's work over the last 5 months and Kim is pretty solid as well.

There may be a wait but it's well worth his meticulous designs with the line work. They are never pushy about a design and customer service is great despite what others may have posted in the past.

After my experience today I am extremely surprised this shop has almost 5 stars. My experience today was anything but pleasant. My mom and I walked in to get a tattoo, asked about the price and time of the appointment. The front desk lady let us know the price and time. Since there are no children allowed at the shop, we stated that we would have to arrange to have someone take care of my younger sister. The owner of the shop (who we weren't even speaking to) got involved in the conversation and said, "if you go somewhere cheaper it will suck." His lack of professionalism was beyond me. He jumped to conclusions and made assumptions on top of making my mom and I feel disrespected. You can do amazing work but if you have no respect for your clients or know the meaning of good customer service then "YOUR WORK SUCKS!" If you guys are looking for a tattoo shop that has respects for its client and knows what good customer service is then go to HYBRID tattoo. :)

I have known Paul for about 2 years now. I started as client when I was introduced to Paul from a military friend. I wanted a tattoo and got an appointment 6 months later. My friend and I would go to the shop to hang out and I saw how he interacted with other people. Paul is arrogant as hell, but never disrespectful. I've seen people walk in and want a same day tattoo, and he let's them know the wait time. If you want a tattoo, there are plenty of places to go with less wait, if you want one from Paul you have to wait like everyone else. The next tattoo that I wanted I had a 12 month wait. I consider myself a friend and still get put on that same list. His clients are diverse and have never heard him say anything racist about anyone that walks into his door. It is a business and the schedule is the schedule why would he turn down business from anyone? If I want just any run of the mill tattoo in a short time frame then I'll so somewhere else. If i want one from Paul, I get on his schedule.

I found 407 Tattoo to be more professional than any other shop I have been to in the past. They called me 4 months early as they had a cancellation and wanted to know if I was interested in moving up my appointment. To bad I was out of town for that date. Michelle called me several days before my appointment to ensure that I had not forgotten the date and time. Arriving to my appointment Michelle greeted me with a friendly smile and explained the paperwork that I needed to fill out. Paul greeted by name which was very nice since we only talked once before for less than 10 minutes almost a year earlier. We talked about his ideas for my tat as he prepared his work station. Paul has a very light hand! Trust me when I say that as he was sling ink on the top of my foot. This was the second time for me doing this part of the body and it is the most painful one for me. My tat came out great and I can't wait to have my next sitting for the color. I really loved my experience at 407 Tattoo and can't wait to see you again!

I would recommend him for anyone considering getting a tattoo but you are going to have to wait a while but he's worth it. My husband is schedule to get 4 more from Paul soon.

This place is awesome. The place is super clean and Paul sterilizes everything. Paul is the best tattoo artist I've ever seen. He is awesome, funny, and gentle handed. My wife got her first tattoo from him and it was across the entire upper back, so pretty large, and she was very comfortable during the entire process. If you go anywhere else, you are missing the best artist. He is worth every dime and minute. He books fast, so book him as soon as possible. If you can't get him, he has amazing guest artist come every month to pick up clients. If he brings them in, you know they have to great too. Overall he is an artist that actually cares about you and your tattoo more than anything. Definite my top choice for all my tattoos.

If you're looking to get tattoo from an artist who not only cares about his craft but his clients as well then Paul and his tattoo studio is the place for you to go. I just had my second visit with his guest artist, Maki. I went to this place the first time because of the reviews I read and I went back because of the quality of work Maki did for me. I'm writing this review because Paul dealt with my unique previous deposit situation without looking at me or treating me like what I was saying was bullshit. He approached the issue before knowing that I had my credit card statement information and previous tattoo date with me. He listened to what I had to say and we worked out the kinks from my previous visit. It was a pleasure to deal with him knowing he was listening to the situation the last visit had left us with. Paul has a long client waiting list for a reason. He isn't going to just tattoo you without making sure you have done your research on his work or even his guest artists. He has a passion for his art and his studio which shows in the way with which he treats the people who walk in. Paul- thanks for another great tattoo experience with Maki and I hope to see her soon in the near future.

I think it's so funny that this place has 5 stars. My experience was awkward and unsatisfying. I wanted a Bobby Pin on my wrist, I'm a hairdresser and I just wanted something dainty and I fell in love with this idea. The owner Paul Loh told me (after showing me all his very detailed work) that it may just be a Bobby pin but it's very easy to fuck up. I respected that he wanted to take his time even though it was something so simple. So I had good vibes leaving! After waiting 6 weeks (for an hour slot) and feeling totally comfortable with 407 Tattoo, the day of my appointment was a completely different experience. His dog kept attacking my feet, nearly ripping my sandal apart, it only took him 20 minutes to figure out his dog was now making me uncomfortable and shamed me for making him put his dog in the back. Now 20mins of waiting he come back out of his little room and said "Just a Bobby pin, right?" I handed him and actual Bobby pin, the shape and size that I desired. He went to the back again thinking he would just scan it but he didn't. He came back with a very cartoon-ish looking Bobby Pin. Way too dramatic. And I hate confrontation but I had to speak up and be assured that, that wasn't going to be the permanent marking on my body. He was so annoyed and it was unsettling. He took only 15 minutes on the tattoo (so much for quality of time). My end result is ok. The side of this Bobby Pin is not realistic in shape or size to any Bobby pin I've ever seen. For really gloating about his talent he really did a fabulous job at making me feel less important than some who wants something big and extravagant. Guess you have to drop a pretty penny in order to get what you want or better yet satisfied. When people ask about my tattoo I tell people exactly who did it. And he will never have a recommendation by me. I can live with the tattoo but dude, work on your customer service. I left pretty pissed.

Paul Loh is amazing! He was able to work his magic on a horribly done mandala tattoo of mine and make it look 100 times better. He was very honest with me from the beginning saying he would try his best because it was a challenging piece for him to fix, but I am extremely happy with what he what he was able to do. What I liked best was that he discussed with me what was wrong with my tattoo and how he planned to fix it. He talked me through the process, and it made the process a lot more comfortable. Paul is very friendly and personable so I felt very relaxed during the entire session. I definitely recommend Paul, he's worth the wait.

Honestly, 5 stars isn't enough to show how amazing of a shop 407 is. I've gotten 3 pieces done with him, lettering, a tribal, and a large koi cover up. The first time I walked into the shop Paul was super friendly and helped keep me at ease once he knew how bad my first tattoo was (different shop). He works with you and helps turn your ideas into a reality. Yeah he has a long wait list, but that should tell you exactly how good he is. Looking forward to getting another one done with him soon.

I got a daith piercing from Gene. It was my 16th piercing ever...so been to a few folks. She's definitely an experienced professional. I was indecisive and she was patient and helpful. The atmosphere is the coolest I have seen in a tattoo spot and they take all safety/health precautions as they should. The spot is clean, and welcoming. I recommend this place! They're a good team that clearly care about quality work and people. I'll be back.

He understands the business of tattoos in all aspects and is a rising star in this industry. His shop is extremely clean. Paul understands the importance that clinical cleanliness plays in the initial framework of body art. He takes every measure to ensure you receive a healthy tattoo. Paul has an amazing bedside manner. He instinctively knows that developing a rapport with his client is critical in building trust and making them feel at ease with a permanent procedure. Paul is also an educated businessman. He knows the value of his product and caters to those that can afford that luxury. His prices are based on his knowledge of the market and his assessment of his skills. Paul's work is a great value in my opinion and I believe you will be completely satisfied with your experience. Paul is currently in high demand as a result; so expect to be on a waiting list. Paul is currently a solo artist but has assembled a great team to assist him. Do you want a tattoo and don't know where to start? Do you have a tattoo already and want to get more? If you answer yes to either question, then look no further than Paul Loh at 407 Tattoo in Woodbridge. The 407 Tattoo parlor is quite possible the best place to get a tattoo that I have ever been to. Having several myself I wanted to find a local artist with good references and reputation. 407 Tattoo is located next to Dixie Bones in Woodbridge just off Rt. 1. When you enter the shop you are welcomed as an old friend. Paul takes the time to get to know people coming in. I have been to him twice for a leg gauntlet and my experiences continue to be better than expected. The shop itself is very clean. The restrooms are clean, everything is sterilized and Paul takes extra care to stress the clean theme. His office manager Stewart is also really cool and down to earth. I found Stewart to be helpful and easy to talk with. The atmosphere looks like a tattoo studio, however there is no heavy metal blasted, it is not loud and people don't sit around and hang out. While Paul is friendly he is also very professional in both his opinions and his work. If you have an idea, Paul will tell you if it works or not. He is also extremely light handed. When I first heard that I was skeptical however after two sessions the rumors are true, especially after being tattooed on and below the ankle. Paul takes extra care to clean the tattoo after the session is done and makes sure the client understands the after care process. So if you want get a tattoo from a true professional who knows his work, is friendly and welcoming and has a staff beyond compare, stop into 407 Tattoo; trust me, you won't regret it.

I am very impressed on how he took over a bad tattoo shop, completely renovated the place, and is KILLING it right now.Both of my tattoos are from Paul and I would recommend him because I've handled 4+ hour sessions at a time because of his light hand. He is very out-going and creative when it comes to your tattoo ideas. The main things you want when getting a tattoo is a clean environment, a guarantee that your tattoo won't come out looking like crap, that it will heal correctly and to know your tattoo artist is passionate at what he/she does. There is a reason why there is a wait time for his tattoos, book one now!

I have been going to Paul for tattoos for many years and have referred several people to him, including my mother. 407 is in an easy to find location right on Occoquan road and has ample parking in the back. Paul and his staff are extremely friendly and greet you immediately when you walk in, rather than letting you wander around awkwardly. It also helps that the decor is pleasant and welcoming, with painted walls and wood flooring rather than white-washed walls with old carpet that you see at so many other shops. I love that the clientele is so varied here- you have everyone from the preppy country club mom to heavily tattooed bikers and all receive the same level of top-notch service.The tattoo and piercing areas are right out in the open, so all their work is very transparent (I have a feeling that if you have privacy concerns, they would more than happy to accommodate you). Paul is a great artist and will work with you to come up with a tattoo that you love. He draws it with you there so that if you don't like something, you can make changes. When it comes time for the actual tattooing, I feel really comfortable at 407. Paul chats with you while you're sitting, but is intently focused on the task at hand. The work is flawless, with crisp lines. Because he takes so much time in the preparatory stage, you will get a perfectly placed and sized piece of art. The shop is extremely sterile. New needles, fresh ink, table coverings, etc. In fact, Paul is so concerned with cleanliness, he has even put toilet seat cleaner in the restroom! If you're hungry, there is a designated eating area and food trash is separate from tattoo/piercing trash. The part-time office manager, Stewart, is super friendly and handles the scheduling and paperwork with ease. 407 accepts credit card payments as well as credit card tips (of course, cash tips are preferred in any industry), which makes payment a breeze. Appointments are required and Paul is often booked out several months, but it is worth the wait. He does free consultations (deposit required if you schedule an appointment after your consultation). His pricing is extremely fair. Follow the aftercare instructions (if you lose them, they are available on his website), and your tattoo will be perfect! I recently got some piercings done by Liz & can't say enough about how happy I am that I chose The 407 Tattoo & Piercing Studio. Liz took the time to be accurate with my piercings and answered all my questions before hand, during, & after. I also enjoyed meeting Paul. He was doing a tattoo when I arrived but I still got the chance to meet him and see the tattoo he was working on. He is very detail oriented and his lines are crisp! The next tattoo I get will be done at The 407 Tattoo & Piercing Studio! -Tiffany aka LeeAnn ;)
