Love this family run salon! James Cornwell is my go-to but he has put together a very talented team. I've been getting my hair colored and cut by James for years. He's made my hair bright red, burgundy wine, purple, magenta, and even teal blue when we were being spontaneous. He's always willing to embrace my rock n roll wild side but still giving me a classy cut/styling that my mother can love. Literally my mom only likes when James cuts, styles and colors my hair....despite the buzzed Mohawk.  This salon has only the best products in the retail area from their own Iva Bella shampoo to Wella, Joico and Sebastian Pro to maintain your beautiful hair. I've used all depending on my hair needs. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. James is a riot and if you're bored of your basic stylist definitely go to him. The salon looks nice and the staff is very friendly but I was not happy with they eye brow waxing.  She did not do anything to make sure they were a flattering shape.  She also did not remove the remaining wax, which I have never had happen before.  I took it off at home and had a slight break out after.  It is too bad because I like the salon just not the work done! Wow this place was a huge disappointment!! Called and booked an appointment to have my hair curled and styled for my engagements pictures. While booking, I informed the stylist that I had really long hair, in order to insure she had slowed enough time for what I wanted. 3 weeks later (4 days before my appointment) the photographer was discussing the possibility of canceling the shoot due to all of the rain we had been having. I called Iva Bella, and said I had an appointment with Jessica at 2pm on Saturday and gave my name, and Informed The receptionist that the photographer was discussing canceling but was not going to let me know until the day of and I did not want to cancel my appointment the same day out of respect for the stylist and the salon. So I then asked her if the photographer canceled the pictures could I instead get some highlights and a cut and she told me certainly that the stylist would have plenty of time to do that for me. Well today was my appointment, the photographer did end up canceling this morning, I go in to my appointment at 2pm and the receptionist asks what I'm getting done. I said "it was supposed to an updo/style but my photographer canceled on me so I wanted to see if she could do highlights and a cut" and she said "oh no, she isn't going to have time for that!! She can cut your hair, but that's it." I waited a minute, and then decided to cancel my appointment entirely and just leave. I would completely understand if I had not of called ahead and asked beforehand. But I did, and was told it would be no issue. I'm still trying to figure out how she would of had enough time to curl and braid my hair like I wanted, but apparently she only had time to cut my hair now. Don't tell customers one thing and then do another. I had them booked for my bridal party and I to have our hair and makeup done for my wedding as well, and you can bet that after this, I have cancelled that as well. I will never be back.Read Less

I saw Jessica for the first time this past week. She did an incredible job hand painting and cutting/styling my hair!! I have received tons of compliments on both the color and the cut. Going to this salon was the best decision I ever made! Believe me, I checked reviews. None under 5 stars! Not surprising! My stylist was Jessica and she was spot on with the color that I wanted. Half my head was all grey with color on the ends, ( I neglected my hair for a year :( ). She produced the prettiest color for me. The owner, Mary, came over and introduced herself to me and wanted to make sure I showed her the end result before I left. What a nice and welcoming lady she is. Everyone is really nice there. James and Daniel from Iva Bella were absolutely magical! They did the hair styling for my wedding and everyone looked lovely! James did an amazing job on my hair and the look he produced was exactly what I had wanted!!! Love them all and I also get my hair colored and cut there. I love this salon! Brittany is my stylist and always does an amazing job coloring and cutting my hair. She listens to your needs and the end result is perfect! From the minute you walk in the door you can feel the relaxed atmosphere and can see that the staff loves what they are doing. I was also impressed by the fact that the owner came over and introduced herself, chatting for a few minutes and explaining how the salon was named. I can't believe there is not more reviews on this place, it's fabulous! The location isn't ideal so maybe that is why. It tucked back in Vint Hill next to the Old Bust Head brewery. I was recommended to the place by myMother so I was slightly hesitant in going. The reason being is that I assume, and wrongly so, that the place would be catered more towards the older crowd. How wrong I was! The ambiance of this place is amazing and the decoration is so trendy. Someone really put a lot of time into decorating and it pays off. I went to Megan because that is who my mom went to. Keep in mind I have not trusted anyone to cut my hair since my hairdresser of 7 years moved to Ohio. I let Megan know this and she was very reassuring. I told her exactly what I wanted and she did EXACTLY that. She made sure it was what I wanted before she made the initial cute. My hair looks great. I am still getting used to the length but that is obviously no fault of Megan's. I just am not used to having shorter hair but needed the inches off since I waited almost a year to cut it. Looking around as I was getting my hair cut, there was a wide array of hairdressers and clientele. It was great to see so many different ages and styles in one building!Great place!!!
