This review is not to bash any one individual, just to simply alert people of what they could expect when they intend to spend their money at Virginia Beach Ink. In a word, UNPROFESSIONAL. My wife and I have many tattoos from outside of the tidewater area, although we are both born and raised VB. We have been on the lookout for a good artist since we moved back here. My wifes client had some work done in a similar style to what she has, and we were referred to VB ink. In october for her bday, I contacted the artist. Never heard back from artist or shop. It's february and we tried contacting the artist again. After numerous attempts, we finally made contact. We were given an appointment date, then instructed to email the artist the image we wanted done. That was the first and last correspondence we would have w the artist. On the way to our appointment, my wife called the shop to let them know we were running less than 5 minutes behind. Thats when we were told the artist called in sick. Unbelievable. They tell her that another artist can take care of us so as she hangs up we're pulling into their parking lot. Open the door and the girl workinig the front is slamming a sub and chips, then disappears into the back for 10 minutes. At this point im asking my wife if we can get the hell out of there. While im sitting there dreaming of the sweet tattoo im about to get, i had time to take in my surroundings. Thats when I notice the hideous flashing plastered everywhere. Now Im tripping. Finally the girl comes back up front and we all finally agree that the sick artist can get us done in an hour. We leave and come back. As we're filling out our personal info, the girl working the front approaches my wife w a stencil and asked her where the tattoo was going. First of all, we hadnt even approved the stencil. Second of all, I want the artist working with me, not the girl sucking down sandwiches. My wife thought the same and asked to speak to the artist since it wasnt exactly what she was looking for. When she was taken back to speak to the artist, the artist didnt apologize for never returning emails, never drawing anything up or consulting what-so-ever, or for the fact that she nor the shop called to reschedule since she wasnt planning on showing up. Actually, my wife wasnt acknowledged at all. She told the artist what she wanted and where she wanted it, the artist told the girl at the front to shrink it then turned her back to my wife, then she was instructed to go sit in the waiting area. We had finally had enough of the mickey mouse operation and left. Five minutes later, my wife gets a phone call from the girl at the front desk telling her how rude WE were! Again, unbelievable. From the start, this place seemed lost. How can you expect someone to give you a good tattoo if they dont know what you want? Beware folks, I wouldnt send my enemies to VB Ink. Read Less
