I worked with Clay Thames for my very first tattoo. I originally came in for a consultation on a rather large piece on my hip. Since I had never had any work done before he suggested I try something small ahead of time to make sure it's for me. I've wanted this smaller piece for eight years and I was excited but terrified. Clay put my mind at ease and dealt with my anxiety beautifully. I wouldn't change my first tattoo experience for the world and am over the moon excited to do more work with him. When booking an appointment there is a $125 fee (nonrefundable) I had a consultation with an artist and the tattoo that I described to the artist exceeded his artistic ability. Instead of being honest and saying "hey, I am a traditional tattoo artist and I can not fufil your request" when i requested a Realistic tattoo to be added onto my already existing tattoo (which is a REALISTIC ROSE) also to re-work the rose ! ( HOW ON EARTH ARE YOU GOING TO RE WORK A REALISTIC ROSE WHEN YOU REALISTICALLY CAN NOT!? HOW?) HOW? How on earth I BOOKED the appointment. For the mandatory 125$. On the day of my appointment I checked in around 1115 am . My Artist comes out at 1145 , walks past me and whimpers " I am going to have a smoke". It was then that I realized he was dreading this tattoo almost dragging his feet the entire way. When we got to the room he told me he could not do what I requested him to do and I asked in this case can I transfer the deposit to someone else he said yes! I came in a couple of months ago to get a sleeve done and my artist(Draya) was amazing to work with. She helped bring my idea to life and even helped make it better than what I had in mind. I get compliments constantly and I am glad I went to her. I have a fair share of tattoos and she taught me to clean my tattoo in a way that it healed better than any other tattoo I have ever had. Well, where should I start? I have been coming to trinity tattoo for about 5 years. I have gotten a total of 5 tattoos here and they are all very large. The smallest one that I have gotten was about as large as a one dollar bill, my largest is my entire arm/shoulder.Alright, lets start with the front staff. Absolutely every single time i have called in they have ALWAYS been extremely polite to me. No matter the day, time or reason. They are always extremely understanding and customer focused. Did I mention how energetic and laid back they are? because that's also extremely important to know. These girls are seriously the coolest, if it's over the phone or in person, their positive attitudes and vibes literally NEVER change. I can not say that enough.Every time you come in for your tattoo they offer you water, soda and animal crackers... WHO DOESN'T LOVE ANIMAL CRACKERS YOU GUYS?!?! My grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and I flew out to Missouri to take care of her for what I anticipated would be only a month or two, but turned into a total of 7 months before she passed. During that time I had to reschedule my appointment MULTIPLE times which I did with plenty of notice and every single time that I called to reschedule they were never rude, they never acted annoyed and they were always caring and understanding. With Trinity, you're not just another number. The artists and the staff remember you. I really can't put words to how I feel about this company.Every time you make an appointment, there is a $125 down payment that goes towards your tattoo which I am completely fine with. It's only $125 an hour and they have the best artists. They have an artist for different art preferences. I can not stress enough, if you're looking for a tattoo you seriously need to stop by and check out the artists portfolios, they're always laying out on a table for you to check out and then make time for a consultation with an artist. Sometimes artists book out days, weeks or months in advance and I can tell you that when you get work done here, the wait is worth the reward. I get that tattoo artists move around a lot but as far as my sleeve, I've been seeing Robert Beck and he is super cool. He is very, very talented and took a simple theme and ran with it artistically and I love it so far!!I can not stress this enough, I know that 5 star reviews are like unicorns and only should be given when absolutely necessary but I can not stress how genuine I am with this review. I myself did not get a tattoo, I came in with brother who did, however I will definitely be coming back to get one myself. The minute I walked in I was impressed with the art work on the walls, portfolio books on the table for the artists, and the extremely friendly and helpful front desk staff. They offer complimentary refreshments not only to the costumer, but those accompanying as well. Their facility is extremely clean and well kept, but also creatively decorated. The artist who did my brother's tattoo was Clay and he is insanely talented and will also be doing my tattoo when I come in. Had my first tattoo done here yesterday. Artist was Jamie who made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted, that it was lined up properly and spent a lot of time on after care.Generally when you think of tattoo parlor's you might think of a dark and dismal building where the artist smokes while he's tattooing you over a beer. Not Trinity. The inside was spotless, well lit and actually inviting. In the reception area they have computers where you can pull up each artists work which is great if you're looking for something specific or an artist who has a specific flair for the kind of tattoo you want.Fill out a few forms, have a complimentary soft drink and you're lying down getting your ink done. I walked in the door and was immediately welcomed and asked what I was looking to have done. I described what I wanted and the receptionist (sorry, I didn't get her name), recommended a few of the artists and then had me look at some of their work. I decided to go with Jamie Cary and I don't regret that decision one b...it! I had a consult with Jamie and showed him some ideas of what I wanted. He told me what he thought would work, and more importantly, what wouldn't. I took his recommendations and made an appointment to come back and have the piece done. I showed up for my appointment, and again the ladies at the front desk were amazing. They called me by name and asked if I or my wife wanted anything to drink, or if we needed anything. Jamie came out, showed me what he had drawn, and I was immediately impressed. We went back to his office which was very clean and I watched as he put all the needles (single use) and equipment together. When we were finished, I looked at my new tattoo and was extremely happy. The tattoo had a lot of sentimental value to me and Jamie did an awesome job. Another nice touch was the discussion of after care. I always ask my artist what they recommend and to be honest, in the 35 years of getting the tattoos, the instructions are usually the same. Wrap in saran wrap, remove after a couple hours, wash with a mile soap and use a lotion for a couple of weeks. This time it was a bit different. Jamie put a surgical cover on the tat and told me to leave it on for four days, then wash twice a day with Dial soap and use a product they have in the shop called redemption. This is a little new to me, so I'll see how it works out. If it like everything else with this experience, It will make my tat stay looking great. If I decide to get another tattoo, I will definitely be back at Trinity and work with Jamie! I went to Trinity Tattoo yesterday and as soon as my friend and I walked in we were able to talk to the woman at the front desk. She was super nice and eager to help us. I had been to a few different shops in the area trying to find who I liked the best. I won't lie, I've been to VB Ink a few time and don't get me wrong they are awesome as well, but everyone at Trinity was so welcoming and helpful. I was able to do a walk in with Jamie and he did such a great job with the tattoo that I wanted. He was super detailed and really nice. I have been trusting Jamie and Trinity Tattoo for a few years. After relocating to MA a year and a half ago, I found 3 separate local artists who provided great work.....but it wasn't Jamie, and it wasn't Trinity. The shop and its people (all of them) are truly amazing, giving, and honest. Trinity feels like home when your there. So much so, my wife and I flew down from Mass and booked 2 all day sessions, making a short vacation out of it. We literally spent all of our time at the shop, not a bar, not sight seeing, but Trinity! Happy birthday to me. It was my birthday so my husband wanted to treat me to a new tattoo. I came here after checking out reviews of this particular shop on Google. I fell in love with the photos that I saw and decided to stop in thinking that I was just going to talk to an artist but once entering the building and feeling super welcomed I decided there was no reason to check out another shop. The receptionist was so cool. I told her what I wanted....a Unalome Lotus...I showed her the photo that I had on my phone and she said that her artist Jamie would come out and talk to me. I was thinking that we were just going to talk about it and I was going to put a deposit on it but he says no I can take you in a few minutes...he was super nice. His Line work is on point. Once he was done and I went back to the lobby area the receptionist had balloons for me. The little things like that is what makes you want to always come back to a place like this. Went to Trinity today for my first tattoo ever. Blown away by this place. Love love love the clean, cool and eclectic lobby. The carefree fun loving people who work there and the awesome owner who chilled with me for a moment before my appointment.Another shocking thing was the price. $160 for a tattoo that covers half my forearm!!! I drew out the design I wanted that had a lot of fine details and Alexi, the guest artist (hope I spelled that right) nailed it!!! I can't stop looking at it!! Definitely going back again!! I'm a newbie to this tattoo experience and the last shop I went to the artist was totally intimidating and kinda an asshole so when looking for my next piece I really had to look around. And a friend recommended Bennett Edwards at Trinity tattoo in Vb. Well I don't think I'll ever go to another tattoo studio in the 757 area again. Not just the artist I had but all the people that work there are genuinely friendly kind and you can tell they are family not just a shop. Now I cannot recommend my artist enough. His art is museum quality and he's insanely awesome and keeps the conversation rolling. Never once made me feel weird. I told him the theme I wanted with the tattoo  the colors I liked the artwork I enjoy the most. And He created the most magnificent piece of art. I couldn't be more thankful and can't wait to expand to the full half sleeve once able. I don't get mad easy , but I have never been so mad in my life of wasting my time and money!!! I've been coming here for over a year and spent over $1,800!!!!! I started with getting a cover up planning out and working with my military schedule to make my appointments. Once back in April I mixed up my dates and they where nice to give me a grace period and keep my deposit on file, now this hurricane is hitting I'm on 12 hour hold for deployment; so I could not make it today, I got a 14 hour notice from my command. I have been calling and calling since 10 am to try to work something out, they didn't give me and answer until 30 mins before my appointment and said no and we are taking your deposit! Not only did I lose my money but I have an incomplete tattoo!!  Biggest disappointment , I have taken stickers and flyers to support them but I am done and if your military don't recommend going! When they are doing your new ink and see some bad old work I had done and tell me that they could not just cover up but fix it, that's an artist. The people here are so friendly and I absolutely love it. In most tattoo shops I walk into, everyone is very unwelcoming and intimidating, but I don't have that problem here. You can tell that they genuinely WANT to tattoo you here. Sean did a small piece on my feet and he was wonderful. I love love love trinity! They are very clean and such a funky shop. Just being here makes you change your mood! The front staff is great and will point you in the right direction if you don't really know what you want or don't know any of the artists. I work with mike and he is amazing! Funny guy and can keep good conversation. He doesn't make you feel awkward or uncomfortable at all. I know the rest of the artists here are amazing too they are very nice anytime I talk to any of them! Working on a full sleeve with mike and every time I come to trinity I get more and more excited! Great tattoo shop and well worth the prices! To some they may seem high but I rather pay for quality then a shit tattoo I'm going to regret. Let me be clear, I am giving this studio four stars because of one encounter I had there. It honestly would have been a full 5 but one artist killed it. I had originally come in to talk to Rama but as I waited in the waiting room, I saw him walk by several times without him even making an effort to greet me or even acknowledge my presence. After waiting about 30 minutes he finally asked me to come back so we could discuss my tattoo. I was expecting to sit down and talk but it was more of me standing there trying to describe what i wanted as he cleaned up after having just finished a tattoo. I felt like i was in the way and not being taken seriously. It ended up being more of a one sided conversation of him saying my idea was basically not going to work and offered no alternative. He then proceeded to insult my first tattoo, which to me has the most sentimental value. Needless to say at that moment I was ready to walk out, but he actually suggested that I go look through his portfolio as well as other's and make my decision. That was his saving grace, because after having looked through the portfolios I found my artist, Brett  Spickard. His work was exactly what I was looking for. Lots of black and gray work with tons of beautiful detail and celtic knot work. I booked my appointment and had the work done. He was extremely professional and really did value my opinion. He constantly asked for my input and offered his artistic insight. He did a fabulous job. I recommend him highly and am definitely interested in getting another tattoo from him. If it's your first time here you can look through the flash books and choose an artist you like. I got both done by Matt Clarke and couldn't have asked for a better rendition of what I wanted. He is a very easy going guy and cool as fug. He also cares that you take care of your new tattoo so that it heals perfectly. Ever since I moved to Va 3 years ago, I've been searching for a shop to call my own....I've done a lot research and decided upon Trinity. I made the right decision. Friday I decided was the day for a new addition so I just walked in and as luck would have it an artist had a cancellation. Not only was my artist Rama Bass cool as hell and didn't let me do what I always do and just stick a tattoo somewhere but he gave me probably my best piece yet. He spent a good amount of time with me drawing with a Sharpie right on my leg....We settled on what I liked and I came back later that evening to bring it to life. It was more than I imagined and I love it more each day. Today I called as I have a lot more swelling in my ankle and foot than I have had in the past and they said to come on in and talk to Dave about it.  He set my mind at ease and is a pretty down to earth dude. His wife Melissa and I ended up chatting like we were old friends. At my age it isn't about the money anymore, it's about quality and most importantly about the Art....these people get that. After a career in the Navy, I have somehow managed to stay ink free.  But it wasn't for the lack of drunken nights on liberty when it seems like a great idea to get a tattoo.  Somehow I always managed to have that moment of clarity through all the intoxicants surfing through my system.  It also helped that all those places back then were scuzzy looking and staffed by felons.However, my wife is now getting her third tattoo filled in, all of them done here at Trinity.  I went in with her yesterday to get an appointment and was amazed at how clean and professional looking the space was (i.e no scuzziness in sight).  You can look through photo books of each of the artists and they do some pretty amazing work.It almost makes a guy want to get a tattoo. As a very tattooed man, my ladyfriend finally broke down and got her long awaited 1st tattoo.Knowing that what she wanted was simple, tattoo 101 kinda stuff, I knew it would take longer to set up the station tan to actually do the tattoo. A lot of places in the 747 have shitty attitudes, and would pretty much laugh off the idea, but Trinity and the folks there were amazing. Chill, the artist, took the time to talk to her, figure out the little details, and executed the PERFECT little tattoo that she is just SO pleased with!Chill couldn't have been more friendly, caring, and genuine. Got really good vibes off of him and he treated her little tattoo with the care and professionalism of a full back custom piece. He did great, and I look forward to seeing more of his work.The shop is BEAUTIFUL, very clean, great art work to view, and even buy. Comfy seating area for those waiting. And, from what I saw via portfolios, some VERY talented people are gunning there. The receptionist (can't recall her name, but has an amazing Hollywood legging done) couldn't have been more pleasant to deal with, very cheerful, and inviting. She also made my girl feel very welcome, and EXCITED!I like that there are individual rooms, as opposed to a parlor setting where all is on display.  The stations were clean, spotless even, very nice set up, comfortable chairs and rests.If you are thinking of getting tattooed in the 757, look no further, these guys are really changing the face of tattooing in the 757. other places should take a note.Thanks for an awesome first tattoo experience for my very special lady. I love this shop! I absolutely love The artist/owner Dave. He is very talented. He's currently doing a stunning back piece for me and very appointment I'm more and more impressed with his work. My twin goes to Matty at the shop and loves his work and a friend of mine went to the lady (I never got her name) but every tattoo I've seen done at this place is a stunning piece of work. They also pride themselves on customer service which is hugely important to me. When my husband gets back from deployment hell be going here for a half sleeve. The Lukesons are two of the most brilliant business owners out there! They created a place where ANYONE can feel comfortable coming in to get a tattoo. The artists each have their own private room, making it very intimate and personal. The art on the walls is made by local artists, and is available for purchase! There aren't silly pages of flash art all over the walls, the art done here is special and specific to each customer. The shop also gives back to the community by volunteering, spearheading food and book drives, and by just being beautiful people! I recommend them to everyone I know and will always do so. Very clean and organized. All of the people are very professional. I've got to say that this is the best place that I've gotten a tattoo at. The tattoo artist Marco Hyder does an excellent job. I've gotten one from him before at another place and when I heard he moved to Trinity Tattoo I followed him there. They will give you exactly what you want and even if you don't know exactly what you want, he will work with you and draw it up. You can even print something off of the internet and hand it to him. This is a much friendlier and clean place than the place he was before. The piercer Alley has done a few of my piercings at the same location that Marco used to work and she is the best piercer that I've ever been to. That says a lot being that I have 14 piercings.
