You can find Trilogy inside Lynnhaven Mall across from Dave and Buster's. It's a pretty spacious shop with a few TVs slide showing some work done by various artist. They also have computers on the right hand side with their artist instagrams up where you can browse their work. I however came here specifically for their neometal jewelry.To be upfront, I wasn't pierced here. I did however get taken back to their piercing room where I had Ryan change out my jewelry for me. The room was very organized and their set up was real clean.They have a pretty good selection of neometal tops to choose from. If you're looking for the flesh tone tops, they did have a couple here. I already had one and was growing tired of it, and decided to spice up my life and get some color. Prices seemed to start at $20 and go up depending on what you're looking for.Ryan was such a nice guy. Made me feel at ease, and changed that sucker out pretty quick. I'd feel comfortable with him piercing me in the future. And even though it wasn't a new piercing, I was emailed after care instructions, which is pretty helpful to those with new piercings. My friend and I walked in with the intentions to get some art work. There was two lady's at the front desk that did not greet us upon entry. We continued to the computers  to see some of the tattoos that the establishment did, we was having problems. I say all that to say not once did any of the lady's ask to help us. I went to get a daith piercing to try and help my migraines. The customer service was out of this world amazing! I was really nervous, I don't do well with piercings. Went into Trilogy after the loss of our dog looking to get a tattoo as a memorial. Being a rookie (this was my first tattoo) I only had a vague idea of what I wanted, based on a few images I had found online. The front desk staff was incredible. After hearing my story they had me meet with tattoo artist, Chad who after speaking with my wife and I and seeing our ideas was able to truly create an amazing memorial and piece of art. Chad's work is super clean and he does a great job walking you through his process. I also appreciated the way he helped educate a novice to tattoos, like myself, on what to look for in not just the artwork and the artist, but also in the studio it's self. Chad did a great job making the entire tattoo process enjoyable and as easy as possible. The studio staff is great, the young woman who scheduled the appointment was super polite and made my wife and I feel very welcomed when we arrived. Went in today for canine bite piercings. My piercer was Ryan. My experience went great! The two ladies at the front were so friendly and Ryan was so patient with some of my fidgeting. This was my first time at Trilogy (but not my first tattoo). Upon walking in, the shop is very cool with all of its decorations and they have a large seating area. The people who greeted me at the desk were extremely helpful and very welcoming! Immediately I felt like I was in good hands. My sister and I were put on a waiting list but it didn't even last an hour. We walked around the mall for about 20 min before returning. After getting checked in, we were offered soda which I thought was super hospitable of them. I had a sample of handwriting I wanted tattooed and I was veryyyyy particular about the lines being fine. I didn't want the big, bold print. I wanted it to be as close to the my writing as possible. The guy who set us up at the desk made sure to put me with the artist who he said specialized in lettering- Joe. I really liked that! Goes to show he was really listening to what I wanted and made sure I was going to get it. Joe really took his time and was very patient even when I wanted to move the stencil. He constantly asked me to look in the mirror and tell him what I thought. The pricing was very fair, especially for the quality work he puts forth. Today, I got my first tattoo from Chad Carter at Trilogy. My friend and I had spent the entire previous day shopping around 10 local parlors. I, like many people im sure thought getting a tattoo in a mall was a little wierd. I WAS WRONG! I thought about it and realized that if this place has the pure brass cajones to have a shop 10 yards from a playground in a mall with every member of the local community able to just walk in, this needs to be checked out. Today was the best tattoo experience I have had yet! The receptionists were very friendly, got me signed in, and checked on me a few times while I was waiting for my artist to finish sketching the tattoo. Very professional and energetic. My artist was Olivia. I was lucky to get a walk in with her and I understand why she is usually booked for several months in advance! She was professional and had great recommendations on the placement and future design incorporation with my ...tattoo. She was also personable and was able to chat during most of the process. My tattoo looked great once she finished it and she used Tatuderm in order to allow it to heal to the best of its ability. The best part of the experience was Olivia did not treat me just like a customer, but rather as someone that would wear her art and took great strides to make sure it was done correctly and would last as long as possible. Went in to get my nose pierced and was told I couldn't because my mom and I don't share the same last name because she is remarried. (I'm underage). Wasn't a problem until my mom asked if my dad could sign for me because we do share the same last name, and she was made fun of because they said we could find any random man in the mall and ask him to be my dad. So I was on vacation, I came in on a Thursday at 12 pm knowing that they really shouldn't be too busy. I knew that they took walkins, when I got there they told me that one of the tattoo artist was already doing somebody. There was another one coming in and that there was only one person ahead of me. After waiting six hours we went back. They couldn't even promised me an appointment because the one tattoo artist was doing a consultation and still had to finish somebody. I don't know what happened to the other tattoo artist but if they take walk-ins they should've had somebody there to take walkins. She told me I could come back on Saturday and Sunday but we were leaving on Friday. I'd only come in wanting a tattoo of a name and it was only three letters it should've only taken maybe 10 minutes at most. And if they had good customer service and they "take walk-ins "they had my phone number and could've tried to get me in on Friday morning before I left but there was never a call. Read Less

I walked right in early on a Sunday and got a smiley and both nipples pierced and changed my VCH jewelry. Everything happened so quickly I barely got my piercer Ryan's name. He was swift, precise and knowledgeable which you really can't ask for more in a piercer. None of the piercings hurt as much as I thought they would and I'm inclined to think it's because Ryan knew exactly what he was doing. I'm definitely gonna go back for my next ear piercing. The only minor issue was I was charged a dollar more than the prices I was initially told by Brittany, the girl at the front, but I'm gonna assume that was just rounding. This place Is one of the cleanest tattoo shops I've ever been in. I loved the layout and how the rooms were sectioned off and private. I came in as a walkup on a Friday around 11 and the ladies at the front were friendly and welcoming. I told them what I wanted (a touch up of an already existing tattoo on my foot) the lady roughly stated it would be anywhere for $100-125, but she would go back and talk to the artist. The artist Joe came out and was completely  down to earth. He told me it would $80 and I jumped all over it. I think we had a little miscommunication between the three of us because I assumed the $80 was for him to go over the entire piece not just one section I had pointed out was the worst faded. However, I didn't speak up at the end so I guess that's my fault. Nonetheless, Joe was talkative and made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. For the part he worked on, it looks bomb and the colors are vibrant. I would highly recommend him for your tattooing needs. They really make you feel so comfortable and relaxed, right there for me made me know I made the right decision to get my tattoo done there. My tattoo artist was Matt and what a great guy he is and very humble and easy to talk to of what I wanted. Also, he was very helpful and made sure what was best for me. Then there is Mali what a awesome lady, nice and very patient at the desk when I arrived asking questions and got the answers I needed. A little pricey (my tattoo was $103), but good work and good customer service.I got my first tattoo here this past Saturday (moon phases on my right foot).I knew I wanted to get tatted over spring break, so about a week before, I e-mailed them a photo of my tattoo, asked how much it would cost, how appointments work, and got some other information.  The girl who e-mailed me back, Sarah, was very nice and said that while they don't quote tattoo prices via e-mail or phone, this is something that can be done as a walk-in.She also informed me that I could set an appointment, but when I went to the site, I saw this:"Due to the high demand of our artists; all new clients require a non-refundable deposit to reserve an appointment. This deposit will be deducted from the cost of the session or held until the final session to guarantee your future appointments if you need multiple sessions. This is necessary to hold your appointment on the artist's schedule.  If you are a no-show with a deposit for any appointment, you will be required to make another deposit at the studio equal to the artist hourly rate of $125.00 for the amount of hours you wish to book with the artist."Once I saw $125, I knew I didn't want to reserve an appointment. I figured I could just walk in and get it done like Sarah said I could.  In retrospect, I should've booked an appointment. Here's why:When I got there, it was packed.  This super cute guy was talking to everyone in the line to get an idea of what they wanted.  I showed him my photo, asked him some questions (he was very helpful), and he explained to me that I could sign in with the girl at the front once it was my turn.  I asked him about the wait but he couldn't tell me anything. Once I got to the front, the girl at the counter apologized for the wait.  She said they were having issues with their system or computers.  Once it was fixed, she asked me for my name, what I was getting (I handed her the photo I'd printed off), and which foot I wanted it on.  She kept the photo and informed me that they'd text me twice:  once to tell me that they'll contact me when they're ready, and again to tell me when my tattooer is ready.  She said I could leave and just come back once I got that second text, and that if I need more time, I could just respond and tell them that.I received my first text at 3:10, walked around the mall, bought some flip-flops (since I had left mine at home), and waited for the second one, which came at around 4:45.  The second text said that my tattooer was getting ready.I headed back to the shop and waited.  I waited for a good 15 minutes or so, looked at some photos, talked to my cousin, etc.  Then I went to the counter to ask if my cousin could come back with me.  The girl at the front said that was fine. She asked my name and I told her, and she said she'd let my tattooer know I was there.  I was a little confused because I thought they already knew I was there.  I'm glad I went up to the counter because who knows how long I would've been waiting before the tattooer came out.She told me that I'd be seeing Anthony, and he came out a few minutes later with a little sketch of my tattoo.  He placed it on my foot and asked what I thought about the size.  I thought it was fine.  He went back and said he'd he ready soon.He called us back shortly afterward.  I got nervous once I sat down on the table.  I made a joke about how I was sorry about my feet (I'm  clean person but I had worn tennis shoes there and well..feet sweat).  He joked back "Ew. Your feet stank, girl."  He was pretty freaking cool.I got my cousin to hold my hand, talked to Anthony a bit to take my mind off of the pain, and he was done in what felt like 10 or 15 minutes.  It went by so fast. He gave me the rundown about what soaps and lotions to use, and I went out to pay.  I read the sheet they needed me to go over, signed, and paid $103 (plus a tip).Anthony was really cool. I think I knew that this was going to be "my"tattoo parlor the moment I stepped in to "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" playing & was greeted by friendly staff over a year ago. I remember being there just to scope the place out and look at some of the work done there. I also spent a lot of time looking at Trilogy's online page afterwards to get a feel of each artist's portfolio. Needless to say, I was thoroughly impressed. Unfortunately, my unpredictable and busy schedule  has always kept me from making an appointment. However, in good faith I finally decided to make a move yesterday and come as a walk in to get my Chrysanthemum tattoo done or at least talk to someone to get the process started. Immediately, I was greeted by Scott who asked me a few questions (what I wanted, where I wanted it) I'm no artist so I just had a few pictures online that I printed to illustrate what I had in mind in hopes that it was enough for the artist to capture the essence of what have imagined. After Scott gave a few suggestions, I was shocked when he told me he can take me in right away and get it started. While waiting for him to design the tattoo and set up the area, My boyfriend and I were offered someSoda which I thought was pretty cool. When Scott showed me the outline, I was blown away. He was in fact, able to capture what I wanted. I was then taken to one of the rooms where I got it done. I'm so happy to say that I couldn't have dreamed up a better experience. My tattoo turned out to be absolutely amazing. My best and favorite tattoo yet (I have five tattoos btw and this one from Trilogy surpasses them all) . I think one of the hardest parts of getting a tattoo is finding a shop and an artist that you'd be willing to come back to. After a few years of getting tattoos here & there .. I originally went to Martin who moved, but was lucky enough to get an appointment with Clay who did an amazing job on my leg and really went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. My daughter turned 18 6/9, I turned 40 6/14. I told her that we would get matching tats when she turned 18 (just like my mom and I), but she had to pick out the art. She finally went with black and grey roses and we started searching for a shop. Found this gem thru Yelp (lots of awesome reviews) and popped in for info. Set up a consultation with Scott kingan and showed him a couple pics. Came back a few days later and he had the EXACT pic we had in our head ready. He did our tats back to back with one small break, in about 5 hours. He was AWESOME!! Very laid back and easy to talk to! During our visit the owner came in and was commenting on how strong my girl was, her first tat, it was huge and no breaks! She rocked it! Thank you Trilogy Tattoo for a great experience, it's been years since my last tattoo.  But the great quality of customer service and attention to detail I received from everyone especially my artist Olivia Bright was really exceptional and with all the choices in the area I will not go to anyone else but Olivia at Trilogy Tattoo. She masterfully took my idea and brought it to life in ways that I could never have imagined.  While many artist refused to do finger tattoos. Olivia's fierce creativity and determination created my piece of art and I love it.  It was such a pleasure being her client I can't wait to see her again for my touch up.  Pricing is fair each artist has great talent and expertise, you want a great piece you get what you pay for. Owner Dave stopped by to see the progression of the piece and was very informative and kindly gave me tips on aftercare. Clay Thames does most of my tattoos and he has been my artist since I started getting tattoos(he did my first tattoo) he is so sweet and kind I could not ask for a better tattoo artist that actually cares about his clients! He is also super talented and knows what I like! This is by far the best shop and I am so glad he in a nice professional and clean shop. They are super professional and take pride in helping customer find the right artist for them! The shop has high quality jewelry as well and I am super proud that Sarah is apprenticing under an amazing piercer like Ryan. Check them both out for your next piercing! The staff help the artist very well as to set up the appointments and it makes a great way for organization! Also, I can not forget the amazing Scott Kingan that did my traditional snake piece recently, He is such a funny, Talented, and wonderful tattoo artist! I've always wanted to redo my lobe piercings, but I wasn't sure where to go. My first piercings were uneven and crooked (thanks to a certain accessory store that shall not be named). My second and third piercings were also not professionally done (16 year old me with a potato and a safety pin). Suffice to say, my ears have been through A LOT. For my first visit, Stacey was able to re-do my first holes making them WAY more even and lined up than before. Ryan redid my second and third piercings at the same time for my second visit. I am so glad I actually went to Trilogy to get my piercings done. Stacey and Ryan are phenomenal at what they do and I can't wait to come back for more work to be done. Read Less

Let's be honest, when my mom told me we were going to a mall to get our matching tattoos I was very suspicious. It wasn't my first time being tattooed, and going into a busy shopping mall filled with screaming, germy children was making me seriously uncomfortable. That all changed the moment I walked into Trilogy. The shop is absolutely beautiful. The vibe was welcoming and my qualms about being in a shopping mall were instantly squashed. We were instantly greeted very kindly (regretting now that I didn't get the name of the lovely lady who helped us) and the check in process was quick, but thorough. We had previously made our deposit and sent in our art, so we didn't wait long at all before our tattooer came to meet us. Martin was so kind and so ready to listen to our ideas while also giving us his professional opinion. He accommodated our every request and even came in on his day off to do very special tattoos for my mom and I, as no other day would work for us. I was blown away that he was willing to do this. His space was clean and inviting and covered in brilliant art. I appreciated that he talked throughout the tattoos as it made the uncomfortable moments easier. He told us funny stories and kept us laughing the entire time. At the end the shop owner greeted us and asked about our experience. He was also very kind and welcoming. Overall I was so happy with the experience from start to finish. I will definitely be revisiting Martin and Trilogy on future trips to Virginia. Thanks so much for everything, guys. It's been a few months since I've spent a Saturday roaming around Lynnhaven mall.  I was surprised to see this tattoo shop on the end near Dick's, Barnes and Noble and Dave and Buster's.  I walked inside and browsed the body jewelry and such.  It's decorated very soho loft or something, Restoration Hardware-ish.  I liked it.  They didn't have big binders on the walls where you'll select a generic heart or butterfly, nope.  I get the feeling this is a shop where the workers actually consider their work art and try to make it custom and all different.  I don't know much about the prices as I didn't ask or speak to anyone, nor did I get a tattoo, but it looked very contemporary and clean.  There was a nice layout and the tattoo areas were privately set aside in the back - looked like there were about 6-8 of them and the front desk was adequately staffed for walk-ins. I have a cover-up I'm considering for my shoulder that I might come here to try out - will update my review when that happens. Read Less
