When I was searching for a place to get my first tattoo done, I was a mess. I agonized over Yelp reviews and artist portfolios and everything you can imagine. Eventually, I decided to check out Dark Horse after reading over their website and extensive FAQ section.Dark Horse is located in an unassuming strip mall in Stafford just off I-95. I went in with little more than a name, a Word document full of disparate tattoo ideas, and a boatload of anxiety. I met with Cat right away, and within 5 minutes she had a rough sketch of something incorporating everything I'd asked for. Nice! A few weeks later (their schedule can be quite busy) I was in The Chair. Everyone here is so, so down to earth. I was definitely intimidated about going to a tattoo shop, but Cat is very affable and professional (not to mention extremely talented). She did a great job of putting me at ease, chatting with me to keep me distracted, and just generally being awesome to be around. Plus, she has a whole bunch of little care tips she will give you (foaming soap!) and they are all definitely really good advice. She's also great at giving you artistic input if you need it. My tattoo is custom and was pretty free-form, so there were several times where her input was invaluable in creating an amazing end result. And let me say, my tattoo is amazing - I could NOT be happier with it!I can't say how DHT's pricing compares to other shops, but I can say that my very large tattoo was quoted at 6 hours (at $150 per) and ended up coming in at a bit over 4 hours, so that was a pleasant surprise. And my tattoo came out amazing! What more can I say? Cat and the DHT crew are the real deal, and I can't wait to go back for more! Read Less
