Unprofessional and Rude. I went back in August to inquire about a matching tattoo with a friend. Lauren greeted us (and was amazing as always) but Becky was horribly rude. She couldn't even be bothered to listen to us, and just stormed outside to smoke. We had a "consultation" with Lauren and some guy I'm pretty sure was a piercing apprentice. Either way, neither of them are tattoo artists. Becky came back in, was rude again, gave us an absurd price point before even talking through the idea because *eye roll* "I already know what they want" (no, she didn't). My friend got frustrated and snipped and Becky just escalated. No apology, no nothing. Just asinine and ignorant. Then I posted reviews on Google and Facebook and they deleted the FB one, after Becky posted a snarky comment on it. (She had just finished a big tattoo and wanted a break - totally fine! But maybe at least TELL ME THAT INSTEAD OF BEING MEAN? Is that too much to ask?)TL;DR: They're rude. Unprofessional. And Becky's tattoos aren't all that great. So very unwelcoming and rude. I had planned on getting a big project done that I had been stressing over for years. I finally decided on my half sleeve and was so excited to get this done. I called the shop inquiring about an appointment for a consult. The lady who answered sounded super nice and said I didnt need one and to just come on in. I had so much anxiety just walking in. The lady at the front was nice and asked how she could help me.. I explained what I wanted etc. She brought me over to Pup who was tattooing another clients sleeve. I didnt want to interrupt at all but the lady brought me over and he couldn't have been more rude or stand offish. He spoke to me like I was an idiot and bothering him. Once I got an attitude back he eased up a little. I ended up putting my deposit down anyways. Even though I had felt so uncomfortable and annoyed. He said he would get back to me with an idea for my tattoo because I had asked him for some ideas and he said he was "too busy right now" to discuss it. In which THATS WHY I WANTED TO SCHEDULE A CONSULT TO BEGIN WITH. I emailed him multiple times and got nothing back. Not even the WEEK of my appt. Please read! AMAZING PIERCER, they have a new piercer she's amazing... I came in for a nipple consultation and I was soo scared because I had a problem with them before and I came in to get them redone, I explained that I had a rejection problem before and she said that she has jewelry that would be alright but she really cares about my body and my piercing and wants to make sure I have the best absolute chance for healing so she WITH HER OWN MONEY ordered a custom size jewelry for me and got 2 day shipping.. I was so relieved because she cared so much that now I actually have a chance for my piercing to heal, she did an amazing job as well. she was so honest and caring and it was an AMAZING experience I felt so welcomed and so happy with the process.. any other shops I've ever been to would've just took my money and did it with whatever they had that was good enough.. I seen negative comments but the old piercer they are referring to left I believe so if you're in the area and need a piercing I STRONGLY suggest to go here. Also pricing is superrr reasonable. Do not go here. This morning my nose piercing fell out so I went to All American Tattoo with my mom to get it replaced. When I went there two people were already waiting ahead of me so after I waited for them to finish this blonde lady took me in the back room where she jabbed me with a needle. (I've had plenty of piercings and I've never had someone jab me like that) My nose started bleeding unlike all my previous piercings. She then preceded to put the jewelry in my nose and her hands were shaking like crazy. She kept trying to screw the top part of my piercing in but couldn't do it then when I mentioned how her shaking hands were hurting me she said she couldn't get the top part screwed in and that she's never used this jewelry before (jewelry bought there) so she told me I could leave and didn't have to pay because she couldn't finish her job. Now I'm on my way to the location in Manassas (40 minutes away) so they can finished the job that's half done. Oh and the best part is when I called and asked for a manager she said she didn't have one, then when I asked for her name she said she wouldn't give it to me and was upset because she didn't get paid for her job (a job that wasn't finished) I was going to pay even though it wasn't done but she said it was fine and I could leave. Update: found out she caused trauma to my nose but got it fixed by Alexis at the manassas location and she was amazing!!! Read Less

I've had horrible experiences with two different piercers and an artist. First time I went in the piercer and artist were openly bad mouthing a previous customer and left me waiting till they were done. When I did get to talk to the piercer she was rude and I left without getting anything. I went about a year later because they had a different piercer. She put too many piercings in one spot and one "drifted." I called and set a time to come in but still waited 40 minutes. I didn't notice until she was done but she didn't wear gloves and I saw dirt under her nails (she was standing on my side and I had to look forward but came in front of me and was scratching her face). I recently had a tattoo done by Pup there and he did a phenomenal job. His attention to detail is incredible and you can tell he takes great pride in his work. The rest of the staff there is extremely friendly and helpful. One of the problems myself and some of my coworkers have seen at tattoo shops in this area is that they are unfriendly, unorganized and have generally unhelpful staff. That is NOT a problem at All American Tattoo. The price was also fantastic. I will come back in the future and recommend this to all in the area looking for tattoos. Read Less

My friend and I went to this shop to get our cartilage pierced & while the piercing experience was fine, the piercer didn’t give us any info on our jewelry or on aftercare. We are from out of state and headed home, but when we got home my friend’s jewelry came apart & since we didn’t have any info about it we couldn’t purchase new jewelry. So we called the shop, the piercer seemed indifferent and told us she doesn’t write down the info unless asked for it. I am very disappointed in the way they handled this. Read Less

I have gotten my belly button ring and double cartilage done here and they both healed great! Yesterday I got my septum pierced and my very first tattoo and pup was super funny and welcoming! My piercer was EXTREMELY HELPFUL I passed out when I got my septum pierced which was my fault because I didn't eat before hand, but she stayed completely calm and was such a sweetheart. Customer service straight sucks. Went to get a piecing and when I walked In the person who "greeted" me literally said "what do you want" then the piercing specialist said I couldn't get the piercing I wanted when I had previously gotten other professional views on it being possible oh well now I know why their ratings are lower than most. I went to All American today after calling in to make an appointment. Both on the phone and in person, I was greeted by Alexis, of whom I have never met before today. She is a blonde female with fantastic tattoos and a very kind demeanor! I had read about another piercer who was late for her appointments so I was concerned at first about going here. However, I have multiple friends who have suggested I try anyway since that piercer is gone. So anyway, I met Alexis and she explained, in detail, how the process was going to work. Then she explained aftercare multiple times. She was extremely clean, professional, and very personable. I had my nose pierced seven years ago by a different piercer and it was a terrible experience. It was so painful, never healed, and had I done my research I would not have gone there in the first place. I was slightly apprehensive going into this, but again I did my research and heard good things about her. Alexis did such a fantastic job, it barely hurt, and although I did bleed (I have thin blood) she was able to take care of the bleeding. It wasn't gushing, it was just a little more than she would have normally seen. She was patient and thorough in cleaning my nose. I'm not sure about the other artists who were there today because they were working, but the entire environment was friendly, clean, and lighthearted. Let me start by saying that there is more than one reason I am giving a 5 star. Before I even made it into the shop when I went to inquire about my tattoo.. My 9 year old son tripped and scrapped his knee and Becky sat him up in her chair and bandaged him up and made him feel like a million bucks. I have been coming to this tattoo shop for 6 years, and have had all of my tattoos done by Pup and several piercings by Alexis. I highly recommend him, his wife Becky, and the piercer to everyone I know who asks where I get my work done or who is looking to get work done. Both my mother and I have had multiple piercings done here by Gene, who was honestly the best piercer I've ever had. She did a phenomenal job and I've never had piercings heal that quickly. Later, we were out of town and I got a different piercing done by another piercer and I was having issues with it healing and I came in to seek her advice, but there was a new piercer (blond female). Not only was she extremely rude to me, but she lacked the knowledge and skill necessary to help me. She took me back to the piercing room, put on gloves and kept scratching her face with them on (like a lot) and took out my old jewelry to put in new jewelry (I needed a bigger/longer piece). She honestly like rammed it in there and it was so painful because it wasn't angled right. She was unable to place the bead in the captive bead ring and dropped the forceps/pliers and I had to tell her not to use it because I didn't want my piercing getting infected by it. My ear was bleeding, the bead fell out when I got home, and she charged me more than I usually paid for a brand new piercing+jewelry. I ended up going to Dark Horse and the guy there fixed it for me and it's doing fine now. So on the piercing side I DO NOT RECOMMEND the blond female piercer. I've gone with friends before when they got their tattoos here and they were happy with them, but I have no personal experiences to give on the tattoo side of it. TL;DR Don't go here for piercings with that woman. Go to Dark Horse or Golden Monkey or others instead. Read Less

While this may be the only place that does piercings in Stafford VA, ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK. Not only is ALEXIS rude, so are the tattoo " artists " that work there. You will get semi nice treatment when you go in the first time to pay for the overpriced service that you want but beware if you need or want something else or return for a service beyond your control like replacement jewelry then you will pay $$ for it and be treated like a nuisance.  This is no way to treat customers that you want return business from.  I will personally never go into that shop again, and I will tell anyone that will listen the same thing and the exact reasons.  I will travel out of my to ANYWHERE else.   ALEXIS is rarely there anyway and god forbid that you need help from anyone else there......sure they have their right to be slow, be assholes and run their business how they want but I also have the right to tell about my experience there and it was not good at all.     Especially when they tell you something and don't honor their word even when you have witnesses.    If you go there because you are desperate for a service and they are the only game in town like I did ( and they know it).   I just say, I told you so!!!!!!!!ALSO I CAN AFFORD THEIR SERVICE AND THEN SOME......... Our lovely dog passed away a few weeks back. My father my sister and I went to Pup to each get a tattoo of him based on a photo that we had. We each got absolutely amazing tattoos, all in different styles. Pup did a traditional tattoo for my sister, a realistic portrait for my father and a watercolor tattoo for myself. If I could give this place a lower star I would. Completely unprofessional. I have had my nose pierced multiple times and never has it bled as much as it did with them. Not only that but the man saw that it was bleeding and didn't know what to do. I had to ask him for gauze (which they didn't have) and instead he just ripped off a piece of paper towel and said "sorry." The placement for the actual piercing was off as well. I was so disappointed and disgusted I just left. I will have to go somewhere else to get this fixed. Remember, cheaper isn't always better. You get what you pay for. Read Less

I highly recommend All American Tattoo in Stafford!  This is a great place with truly skilled professionals. Pup has done a masterful job of adapting an old 1850-era illustration of the constellation Scorpius to a tattoo. So far Lauren has pierced both my tongue and my nipples. I have 14 piercings, but somehow I manage to hold my breath and get woozy every time. However with Lauren, we joke and she makes me feel so relaxed and comfortable that I almost never have a problem. She makes sure I have anything I need. She's awesome and the only person I go to anymore for my piercings :) I haven't gotten a tattoo yet, but my best friend and I plan on getting one within the year with Pup. I am not quite sure about the review from March 2014, but it doesn't seem very accurate at all. Perhaps a disgruntled ex-employee, rival shop, or someone a bit off their rocker? I have been to this shop quite a few times and I have never experienced or witnessed any of the behavior mentioned in that review. I am calling malarkey! To my knowledge, the employees at the Stafford location are currently  Becky, Lauren, and Pup. I have met each of these employees and during our interactions they were nothing but professional, friendly, respectful, and genuine. I am always greeted when I walk in the door- and so is every client I have seen come in for appointments or information. There are no hoardes of unruly folk lurking about, and I have never seen an employee hiss, spit, or curse at, under, over, towards, around, or behind a client.In terms of their facilities, the shop is kept very clean and well lit at all times. Great care is used to keep a clean work space for piercing or tattooing. You can see that these wonderful people take pride in their work! I have had three tattoos done by Becky. For my most recent tattoo, I threw some ideas around, but wasn't quite sure what I wanted the end result to be. I have to say, once I saw her sketch of it I was blown away! She managed to remember every detail I had requested and executed it perfectly- just as I had imagined it! During my appointment, Becky was very patient with me (I was getting both feet done that day and needed to stop a few times due to pain) and I never felt uncomfortable if I needed to ask for a quick break. Becky also talked to me during my appointment- no awkward silences, just a genuine conversation.Once my tattoos were finished, I couldn't stop smiling! They were exactly as I had pictured, and the finished product looked exactly like the picture she sketched for me! Great experience! I have been wanting to get my nose pierced for awhile and finally decided to go through with it! Although the reviews I read online previously seemed average, my experience here was far better. Lauren was my piercer and from the start she was super welcoming and friendly. Usually when I walk into a tattoo shop I feel uncomfortable or out of place because I don't have a ton of piercings or body art, but this shop had such a welcoming atmosphere. I didn't feel judged or anything. Lauren answered all my questions too about the piercing. She obviously knew what she was doing and showed that she valued her job. Becky made me so uncomfortable that I actually just walked out the door.  She was abrasive, rude, and not someone I care to let tattoo me ever.  I have never had a tattoo artist lean past me to cuss at someone else while I was in the middle of a sentence.  Also she would rather laugh at people than actually give real professional advice.  And for the record, the tattoo that she said was "Not gonna happen" happened in their sister shop in Manassas. I am not sure if she lacks skill or just tact, but either way she is not touching my body.  I did not find the place to be very professional at all.  There were a bunch of people kinda hanging out and being loud, both inside and out.  It seemed like a young, wild crowd that was more interested in their friends.  I have a fair amount of experience with tattoo shops, and sadly you do see this a lot in this industry, but never have I just walked out mid-consult.  Drive to Manassas for a much better experience. I've gotten my back and half sleeve done there and continue to refer friends and family. Its the most clean and sterile tattoo shop I've ever seen. You can ask as many questions as you'd like if you have any doubts, they are forthcoming and honest. Its a very busy shop, if no one approaches you while you're looking at flash, go up to the artists and talk to them yourself, they don't bite. I stopped by the shop this afternoon to see what they had to offer.  There were three employees there that I could tell and a couple of people waiting in the lobby area.  The first thing that I noticed is the artists rooms are open and everybody and anybody can see you get your tattoo.  In one of the rooms, the artist was arguing with the customer over the tattoo and swearing about it, which is just unprofessional as well.  I looked at the designs for about 15 minutes and looked through the books.  Despite one of the artists not working at the time, no one from the shop greeted me or asked me if I needed any help.  They had some okay designs, but I didn't see a lot of the tribal stuff I was looking for.  I was looking to find another tattoo shop than my current one because I think all they see on me is $$$ signs when I walk in, but I think I'll pass on this one and keep looking.
