This was my first tattoo and I was super stoked, but I had a short period of time in which I would be able to get the tattoo done. I stopped by on Thursday and talked to Mike, and had an appointment scheduled for Saturday. Mike was excellent with drawing out the picture I brought to him, and tweaking what needed to be tweaked. He explained everything thoroughly and made me feel extremely comfortable. The tattoo itself came out phenomenal and not even a day later I'm already getting compliments on it. I have always gone to JOE HEGARTY and all of his artists past and present. This isn't a "tattoo shop" or "tattoo factory" like others around town....this a custom tattoo shop. If you want your boyfriends name or a pitbull head, this isn't the spot! You give these guys an idea of what you want and let them draw it up...other shops around town want to know what you want and then throw you in a room with an artist in that skill/style level. One particular place in Roanoke has a host/hostess to place you with an artist. If an artist doesn't greet you when you walk in, your in the wrong place. Joe is a world renowned tattoo artist and I trust his choice in artists he employs *RESPONSE TO PEACOCK LADY* your tattoo just looks unfinished. 9 tattoo is the most welcoming and open place ever. Yesterday I got my first tattoo and wasn't even nervous, thanks to Amber's personality; it pulls you in and makes you comfortable, and I tell you getting a first tattoo on your rib cage is the slightest thing from ever really being ready for (Btw I didn't cry).
