i saw Ashleigh this past Wednesday and she was an absolute delight! she was wonderfully flexible and we made another appointment that will probably take less than an hour simply to make sure the shading is done and the piece is up to her standards. i’m so excited to see how her work develops as she finishes her apprenticeship and to work with her again! the shop is beautiful and all the other artists were just as warm and kind to me. thanks so much!

I saw William Volz on 6/23, and I’ve never experienced such a welcoming place. Everyone I had an opportunity to speak with was kind, understanding, and patient. William was also very detailed and I really appreciated how much he cared to ensure that the tattoo was perfect. I absolutely loved this shop and I can’t wait to go back for my second session

Best tattoo shop in Richmond, hands down. I got my first one here recently, after years of debating with myself. Faith Broache is my favorite artist there, they are all amazing though. She totally held my hand through the whole proces,s and took the time to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I'm pretty sure she went a little above and beyond, and did not charge me extra, because she wants to make sure that anything she puts on your body is perfect. I would HIGHLY recommend just going in and talking with her even if you just have questions or a general idea. She took my basic premise and made a masterpiece. Everybody there was so nice, I should have taken up tattooing... I will definitely be back! Remember, tip your artist! Thanks guys!

I just got my birthday tattoo for myself today with Van, and this is my first time with Unkindness Art, the staffs are very nice and friendly and very flexible. I am beyond happy with my tattoo today , took us 5 and a half hour to finish my tattoo, Van is very considerated and very friendly. I already plan to get another tattoo from him, go check out his ig and shop's ig, the Hogwart Vangal is mine. Highly recommend !!!! ❤❤❤ thank you again Van !!

Had my first ever tattoo done by Van. He was more than willing to go out of his way to work with my ridiculous schedule as I was traveling in and out of town. I had been following him on Instagram for some time per recommendation by a friend, and upon arrival and meeting, he was extremely friendly, honest, and tactful. I was beyond grateful that he took on the task of such a simple tattoo of my pups pawprint, and took the time to be incredibly detailed. He was sincere and easy to talk to the entire time, and even made me laugh while he was tattooing some more painful areas across my ribs. My entire experience at Unkindness Art was better than I can describe with words, and I definitely will be passing the word along about my experience with Van and the studio itself. Thanks for making this such a great experience and I’m sure I’ll be back soon.

Will Van is THE MAN!!! My wife and I came into town to get my annual birthday tattoo done. From design to application to completion the entire staff was awesome at Unkindness Art studio. I MOST DEFINITELY be linking up with Will Van for the rest of my arm sleeve of skulls. Teresa & Erin are very down to earth and very courteous to us. Please! Awesome shop. My boyfriend and I have only gotten work from William Volz and he is stellar, but the other artists seem great as well. Very laid back atmosphere, the artists are awesome, and there are tons of freaky but cool decorations. They definitely adhere strictly to all health codes and are very professional. If you're in Richmond and looking to get a tattoo I recommend checking them out. Right next to Lift coffee shop with the green awning.

His eye for detail is great and I would highly recommend his black n gray! He is such a pleasure to work with! Please go see him! You won't be disappointed!

Best tattoo shop in Richmond, hands down. I got my first one here recently, after years of debating with myself. Faith Broache is my favorite artist there, they are all amazing though. She totally held my hand through the whole proces,s and took the time to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I'm pretty sure she went a little above and beyond, and did not charge me extra, because she wants to make sure that anything she puts on your body is perfect.
