From emailing about a consult to walking out with my fresh tattoo, Fable and specifically Barham were a pleasure to work with. They got right back to me about my inquiry and Barham was super nice and helpful during our consult discussing ideas for how to achieve what I wanted with my tattoo. I was getting an existing tattoo reworked and Barham did so beautifully -- it looks even better than what I was expecting and he immediately understood my vision and brought it to life. Fable Tattoo itself is right in Carytown and has a great, super-clean, comfortable interior. My only caveat is that the adhesive bandage seemed to disagree with my skin more than others -- it was incredibly difficult and painful to pull off after the three days and my tattoo was definitely not healed by then as it sounded like it would be. But I don't think that was their fault as I heard from others that theirs came off easily and was fine. You may want to inquire about that if you go here; I don't think I'll ever be using that bandage again! But overall, a wonderful experience. My best friend from out-of-state and I went to Fable to get our long-talked-about matching Star Wars tattoos; one Rebel Alliance symbol for me, and one Galactic Empire symbol for him. Everything about our experience at Fable was the best. The shop is clean, and all the staff and artists are extremely welcoming and talented. Very clean facility and great hospitality from the whole crew! I was there for an appointment with clutch and my friend came along for the ride, who decided to get a tattoo of his own by jessy without an appointment. Fable was flexible and exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere created by the artists and their facility was positively my greatest of tattoo experiences so far. How do you know that you have an awesome tattoo? I have 5 tattoos. The last 2 have been done by Barham at Fable Tattoo. It is rare for me to go out and not hear, "Where did you get that tattoo?!?" My latest Barham creation is a green anaconda that wraps around my lower left leg. The project took roughly 20 hours. The environment is always laid back in the shop and they treat you with the utmost respect, if that's what you are into...I asked for a realistic green anaconda and Barham nailed it. People that have a fear of snakes cringe when they see it. Those that have an appreciation of serpents want to touch it.....It never gets old hearing, "that's a nice snake"...... I had trouble finding a good shop in Richmond that could do a large cover up on a tattoo that covers my entire forearm, but I was lucky enough to find Fable Tattoo and get work done by Barham. My tattoo turned out amazing and doesn't even look like a cover up, even though it was originally very dark and detailed. I also have a tattoo on my upper arm that Barham was able to skillfully connect and turn into a full sleeve that blends beautifully together and looks like it has been done by the same artist. All the artists here are extremely talented and kind; I definitely recommend getting tattooed here! Just be prepared for many many compliments :) Read Less

Daniel Farren is a master at his craft! I trust him completely with making my large custom tattoo dreams come to life. My first piece done by him, I came in with a vague description and he came up with something so individualized and perfect, beyond the scope of my imagination. When it was time to come back for a shoulder piece to even me out, I knew who to turn to and he didn't disappoint.
