My friend and I made an appointment to get some piercings done and we had a great experience. Parking was available out front. Everyone was very friendly from the moment we stepped into the door. East End Dermagraphics was super helpful both times I've gone to them in the last three months. I took out my cartilage piercing for almost two weeks because it had gotten infected. I wanted to see if they could take a look at it/place the piercing back in/repierce it and Carli was able to thread the hole with little to almost no discomfort considering my hole had almost closed up. She suggested I change the gauge so my cartilage could heal better and I could come back in a few weeks which I did. I came back a few weeks later, cartilage fully healed with the hopes of putting my original piercing back in and sure enough, Carli was able to do so without any pain and at no charge! The wait for walk-ins can be lengthy so it's probably best to call ahead, make an appointment and show up a little early (parking is a bear). The lady who pierced my nose was careful and knowledgeable. She seems to take pride in her work and made the experience enjoyable for me. Unfortunately I can't share any insight into tattoos here, but this is the only place in Richmond I would recommend for piercings!! I came here a week after moving to Virginia from out of state and Carli fixed my nostril piercing (wrong sized hoop) and made sure I was as comfortable as possible - my first southern hospitality experience! Three years later, I wanted to re-pierce my nose and Carli is the only person I even thought about going to... and she is AMAZING! Very knowledgeable, cares about all her customers, goes above and beyond, and is just fun to hang out with in general. The place is clean, very reasonably priced, and kid-friendly. If you have time, ask Carli about her previous life on tour with husband-artist-bass player in JJ Speaks. 1000% recommend this place! Went in to get lobe piercings. - friendly and helpful service- they go above and beyond to make sure you are getting what you need- prices are great here. Other places charge around 20 dollars for ONE lobe piercing but here they charge 25 dollars for a pair of lobe piercings. Read Less

EED was exactly what I was looking for!  I had been doing a lot of research for a black and gray tribute piece and when I found this place, the stars aligned. Upon walking in, I immediately felt like I was at home! The staff and owners were all friendly, inviting and, uh, hysterical. JD was ready for me and immediately started getting to work on sizing and placement. I got custom work done and when I described what I wanted, he drew up EXACTLY what I I had envisioned. The first attempt too, which made me feel heard. I drove from Charlottesville to Richmond for my piece so that the energy was positive and respectful as I had a not-so-pleasant experience in the past. That's exactly what I got at EED. JD was very accommodating, considerate and gentle. We took a few breaks to be sure he was at the top of his game and mostly, to allow me to stretch. (5-hour-ish piece.) This was a very special piece, a tribute to my brother, whom I lost 22 years ago in a violent crime. JD took the entire day for me just to accommodate my schedule and drive to and from Cville. We did it all in one sitting. I am so very grateful for my experience and for the Universe directing me there. And it was my birthday on top of it all!!  The pricing was very affordable and I was shocked to hear it when we were all done. Everything was done clean and I had specific aftercare instructions. Carli was lovely! I talked to her on Yelp for 2 maybe 3 days before coming in because I had quite a few questions and I didn't want to waste a ton of time in the shop. I am allergic to nickel and she got me a pair of earrings that are perfect. I also need to get my nose ring out back in and I came in and she sterilized it and quickly popped it back in. The actual ear piercings were really comfortable and she did it nice and fast. The best thing though was the price, some shops charge 50$ and I was only charged 25$ which was an amazing price for two lobe piercings and the earrings. Great service! Don't waste your time going anywhere else in Richmond for a piercing!! I never write online reviews but I can't say enough about East End Dermagraphics. I have been to Enigma, Lucky 13, River City, and All for One and this place beats them all. Carli is amazing. She is very knowledgeable, and her appointments are scheduled by the hour so that you can take all the time you need to ask questions, etc. without feeling rushed at all. The piercing she did for me has healed faster and more easily than any of my others. Customer service is outstanding. Carli gave me her cell phone number so that I could text her if my piercing were to have any problems. She even offered to come in on her day off so my boyfriend could get a piercing on his birthday. To top it all off, the prices here are much cheaper than most places (without compromising quality). I won't be going anywhere else from now on. This shop wasn't even the place I had it originally done but I was in Richmond for business when it fell out. It was really difficult to put back in but she took the time to do it right and also spent extra time educating me on how to take care of it now.  I would definitely go back to this place if I lived in Richmond! Can't say enough about Carli. I've gotten my conch done by her after a botched job while I was in LA.  I was impressed by her knowledge and her attentiveness to my needs and my healing process. I went in again to get my septum pierced. Carli worked with me to get an appt in (since I'm coming from tysons VA). She's got a lot of spunk to make it a fun experience, but she was careful and made sure I was happy with the final product. she's got about a quarter of a century of experience and once you walk in an talk to her you can tell she really knows what she's doing. Afterwards she provided after care instructions and some ibuprofen to reduce swelling. Both times, She gave me her personal number so I can text her with pics of my healing process. Even though I got my conch pierced a year before she had remembered me and asked how it was doing. I told her I was looking for new jewelry and she changed it out to what I wanted without charging me!   She really takes care of you before, during and after the piercing job! As for the tattoos, I haven't gotten one there myself. However the guy that was in there was getting a sick starwars job done on his arm and it was incredibly detailed. On the Death Star you could see all the minor details and lines inked on very precisely and neatly. TL;DR: Carli is great!! As long as I've lived in Richmond, I've usually always gone to Enigma for my piercings, and they do an awesome job. But when I called for pricing for nose piercings, they said it STARTED at $70. I thought that was a little pricey. After calling around a few places, I came across East End Dermagraphics. They took walk-ins and only cost $35.  I came in as a walk in and met Carli. Carli was very thorough with her explanations, from measuring my nose size to after care instructions. All her tools were clean and the process was quick, easy, and painless. I travel a lot and like to get a bit of ink everyone I go some where new. Never having been in Virginia, I had to see what's out there. Everyone I spoke to told me East End was a great spot to go. A late walk in, I got to work with Rob. I had an idea for a tattoo, and together we worked out an awesome design and a great spot for it. 2 hours later, I have the bragging rights of being inked by a local great. The shop is clean, in the historic section of town. Friendly staff, and my buddy got a great tat by Sara while I was getting mine. I found this Mecca of piercing when I was having problems with a tragus piercing I got at another location. I met Carli, who is the bomb, and she looked at the piercing and gave me a regiment to help the tragus get healed. Carli had me text pictures every few days to make sure I was healing properly and to check in. She eventually found the cause after the swelling went down (had to change the jewelry because the original piercing had the wrong-sized ball and ended up causing the jewelry to cut my ear every time I moved it). I was so impressed by Carli I went back for two more piercings and they are healing nicely. I won't go to anyone else to have a piercing done. FYI Carli is a nurse during the day, so her availability during the week is limited to late at night, but she does work during weekends during shop hours. She is worth the wait! This was literally the best experience I have ever had at a tattoo/piercing establishment.  I was extremely impressed before I even stepped foot in the door and it just got better from there.  Prior to going in I was able to speak with someone from the shop via Facebook and they answered all of my million questions and I was even able to set up an appointment.  As someone who does not care to use the phone and actually cannot from 8-4 everyday due to my job, this was fantastic and convenient.  When I arrived it was literally the cleanest place I have ever been in and the staff was extremely friendly right off the bat.  I went to another local shop last week to get an earring replaced and they made me feel like I was bother them, this was not the case at East End Dermagraphics.  Carli was amazing!  She took the time to get to know me and what I wanted, explained all my options, made me laugh, and most of all made sure I knew exactly what she was doing the entire time.   She gave me her personal contact information in case I had any problems or questions and I left feeling extremely satisfied with the service I received.  If I get another piercing or tattoo in the future it will most definitely be at East End Dermagraphics!! First let me say of all 6 of my tattoos this was the least painful. I had puddles do my work, and she was so gentle, also she had clean lines all the way through. She gave me what I wanted and made sure to touch up any and everything! The owners are the sweetest people you will ever meet, and they are very affordable! This place is banging when it comes to piercings. Though I've never been for a tattoo, I'd look into getting one from them because their piercer Carli made the experience so awesome. Not only did she make me feel comfortable but she was able to explain to me why my previous tragus piercing might have failed. I love when someone is completely knowlegdeable in thier craft and Charli was just that. I had 4 piercings in one sitting and she suggested the order I do them in since one can be more uncomfortable than the other. I'm glad I took her advice because I was going to try to get the most painful rook done 1st. Carli is AWESOME! I can't stress enough how great she is. I had a piercing which required special jewelry. I lost an end piece and Carli spent hours trying to find a piece she had that would fit. Unfortunately none worked so she ordered it for me. While we were waiting for it to be made, she kept in contact with me the whole time-- even texting me from home while she was sick. She really made it easy for me. She only ended up charging me for the piece itself and not for all the extra work she did. After all that, I had to get a piercing from her, right? :) So I got a triple piercing and she only charged me $70 total. After getting that piercing my ear got swollen (as it always does with new jewelry) and Carli replaced the barbells with longer ones the next day. She also replaced the balls for me several times since I have a habit of losing them all over the place. She must have seen me walk into the shop 5 times in one week. And not once did she seem like I was inconveniencing her! She didn't charge me for the extra jewelry I needed too! I obviously cannot say enough good things about her! Overall an amazing experience.
