Honestly dont know why I haven't written a review sooner. I've had 3 tattoos done here. I found this place bc a friend told me about an apprentice there who did my rib piece. Shes long gone but the detail and quality of work Mike puts out has kept me coming back. I have literally walked in with ideas....told Mike and what the end result is, is nothing like I pictured in my head....but exactly what I wanted. He is HANDS DOWN the best artist in Richmond. He's got an easy hand (I've been in the chair over 25 times....hes the best) and hes fast but detailed. To get a tattoo from anyone else would be stupid. Go to Mike!!! Read Less

The best shop to spend your money and time. When making a decision for something that is permanent, I will gladly pay for the talent and years of experience over the " I only payed 20 bucks". I am constantly stopped and asked about my tattoos. If someone isn't stopping you and asking where you get your work, you are going to the wrong place. Read Less

Got my first tattoo here about a week ago! After much research a co-worker recommended Journeys End to me and I'm SO glad I went. Joe was my artist and he did an amazing job on working with me with what I wanted and was so cool to hangout with while he tattooed me. After a bad tattoo experience and not being able to get the original guy to finish what he started, I searched and did research for about a month on local tattoo shops. There were a few I really liked, but then I came across Journey's End. I was really impressed by A- the quality of the work of all the artists, and B- the variety of styles. So often many artists have just one specific style that they like to showcase in their portfolios. So, I was really happy to see that they did really nice work in very diverse styles. So I went in, talked to Mike, and set up an appointment. I'm always nervous going into tattoo shops because a lot of artists are pretty pretentious, but I was especially apprehensive/embarrassed because I was needing someone to finish AND fix a bad tattoo. Pretentious wasn't an issue here. I felt completely comfortable and welcome, despite the lecture on "scratchers". Haha.. Anyway, I've still got some work to go to finish my back piece, but I couldn't be happier with the quality and service of this shop. I'll never go anywhere else, and neither should you. Read Less

Mike Ivey at Journeys End is one of the best (if not the best) tattoo artist in Richmond. I have visited some of the other shops in Richmond and surrounding areas, and was disgusted by the pretentious attitude I encountered and the lack of interest shown to their customers by most. Mike truly takes the time to understand his clients needs and does an excellent job of translating them into skin art. He also is one of the least painful tattoo artists Ihave ever visited. While I was admittedly a bit surprised by hourly rates, You truly get what you pay for here and the integrity that goes into your piece will show. You also get a LOT done in a small span of time. So if you want a crappy piece of flash done by some one who really doesnt care about you or what you want tatooed on you, go somewhere else. But for quality custom art work I wouldnt go anywhere but Journeys End. Read Less

Just got a tattoo done there by Joe. I was made to feel comfortable, and a lot of time was spent before hand to make sure I got something I'd be really pleased with. The end result was fantastic, by far my best tattoo experience. I'll be going back to Journeys End from now on.Read Less

I was very impressed with how clean and professional the studio is. Mike was very professional and friendly. His portfolio is outstanding. I left some visual references to do the drawing but he chose to do his own thing at a price that was much higher than I expected. Ask for a price beforehand and demand a stencil, first. Read Less
