The shop then booked me for another appointment that I did not approve of. I had a walk in appointment. The people were very nice and helped me get a great tattoo. The only thing I had a problem with was there was little communications about how much shading the artist wanted to do. But, the tattoo did come out great and I love it. NOT SAFE FOR WOMEN. I went to get matching tattoos with my mom, it was requested that I submit a 150$ non-refundable deposit before I even saw the design. The design was not what I asked for.While waiting for my mom to get her tattoo I discovered incredibly disturbing images referencing sexually aggressive attitudes towards women on my tattoo artist's instagram page (directly connected to the business' instagram page, unprofessional at the very least). When I showed the images to the manager, he told me the images were protected by freedom of speech and the tattoo artist is allowed to post whatever he wants on his own instagram page. When I expressed my concern to the manager that I found these images directly connected to the business' tattoo advertisement instagram page he did not feel worried by this. When I asked the manager how the images might affect future female customers he was rude, dismissive, and told me I should be thankful the tattoo artist even considered designing my "feminist tattoo". For now I'm going to leave 5 stars. From the start, I've been rejected by many artists because my tattoo work is so gawd awful.  There's a lot going on in my sleeve because I honestly didn't mind being a practice client for my friends some 8 or so years ago. Nobody wants their name associated with a rework tattoo this bad. I get that. So I've been shopping around for awhile now. I went to another shop in Norfolk and was disappointed. (I'm not going to throw which shop name under the bus for an artists bad judgment) I was quoted for rework at 700$. Money wasn't the issue. The guy simply looked at my arm for two seconds, threw out a price without really examining it nor did he give an explanation of how or what he would do for me. He just pointed and said verbatim, "I'd clean up this, here and here." Really?... I literally walked out without another word. I'm so used to getting turned away, I felt like this kids rent must have been due.Now, when I wandered into Fuzion Ink, I was greeted buy a guy named Sam. I'm not used to being consulted by people who run the front of the store so I was thrown off at first. But I was surprised to see he really knew his stuff when we discussed my sleeve. Personally I think it saves time for the artist, and helps guide a client in the right direction. Because if you're anything like me, you'll drive them up the dang wall with every question or "what if" in the book. Sam took me in the back room to see all the portfolios and I, being ink obsessed, looked through every single one. Turned and examined every single page. And finally I picked my artist. I really wanted Brian to rework my tattoo. He's done some amazing stuff. However, some things you just can't fix. He was very blunt in his explanation yet he still took the time to explain the problem factors of my ink. He suggested other artists (I'd have to travel for) that specialize in major coverups on ink this bad also recommending to have a laser removal consult. If I hadn't had so many surgeries in the past 2 years, I would be open to having my whole arm lasered. But I'm just not up to being in an overwhelming amount of pain anytime soon. Also, I'm one of those people who want my artist right around the corner. I gotta get my dose of art therapy once a month.As much as I hassled Brian, (repeatedly for a few days, poor guy) in the end I'm glad he didn't agree to rework my tattoo. I can be a nagging bully to get what I want, but for this artist, money didn't matter. Quality did. I seriously applaud that. In the end:1. I went with another artist in this shop that also has a great portfolio and up for the challenging migraine of my rework. (Not to say his work wouldn't be quality, it's just going to be a long process to tackle the whole sleeve completely.)2. I do intend to get small portions lasered from the top of my sleeve.3. I'm looking forward to posting before and after pictures as time progesses. The overall experience with this place was great. It is really clean and inviting. Had I not had the extensive advice from Brian or the great direction from Sam, I'd be feeling pretty incomplete right now. I'll update this next week with photos. =) Read Less

RUDEST PEOPLE IVE EVER DEALT WITH. I was given a gift certificate for this shop, which I've never been to and had the worst experience with this company. I was out of town and unable to use the gift certificate before it would expire so I gave it to a friend to use. The shop would not accept the gift certicate because my name was on it. Even though I called the shop and told them that I was out of town and it was for him to use. They refused to use the gift card. I asked why ...couldn't he used it and all they could say was "that's just how it is" and couldn't give me an explanation. I asked for a refund since they decided he couldn't use it, and I was out of town. They refused to do that as well. I was told that the name on the certicate HAS to be the one to get the tattoo of their body. Never been here before but very rude from over the phone. I've been to many tattoo shops before and by far the rudest and most unhelpful people I've ever dealt with. $150 down the drain and I will NOT return or recommend this place to anyone. There is plenty of artists to choose from with different styles. My artist was garland and he went above and beyond with the work done on my chest, he took a picture that I thought was cool and transformed it into something incredible with his own unique form. Told us right off we would have a wait. That's fine too. But then told us after and hour and a half that it would be better if we made an appt. I've been here twice for tattoos. My first one was okay but I fell in love with my second one! I was originally charged $300 but the front desk guy added money because it was apparently too good of a deal. Additionally, there was a sale going on that week for every $100 you spend you get $25 gift card. Well I didn't see any of that money at all. Also, the front desk guy was somewhat standoffish. This latest venture to Fuzion Ink is the start to my fourth tattoo, so I'm starting to get more familiar with the nuances of tattooing, e.g., what is important, what is fluff, and what sets up a session for a great experience.I first got wind of an artist at Fuzion Ink when I saw a tattoo on a Gamestop employee. It was so well done, I had to get one to cover up a regrettable tattoo on my right shoulder. I'm willing to share the story to anyone willing to buy me a happy hour beer. When I spoke with the artist, he was booked solid, but gave me options to get it done, and we had a great experience.So here I am getting a matching tattoo on my left shoulder, and the tattoo artist I used is no longer there. No worries, my man Brian Stringer stepped right in to help me out. I was nervous about it 'cause I had never seen his work in person, but I took a gamble because of some research I came across, plus the guy knows comic books (I was getting a character tattoo). Not only did Brian evaluate my suggestions, he explained the pros and cons of each and proffered another alternative that I fell in love with.On tattoo day, he set aside an entire day to help me get as much of my tattoo done in one session. This can be pretty exhausting for both the client and artist, but his work ethic and drive was incredible. He respected me thoroughly, had a clean work area, and got right to the work at hand.I also have to give kudos to the sitting/waiting area out front. It's very comfortable and inviting. You don't see a bunch of folks getting worked on, just some televisions and music. That's a far cry from one of the big name studios I went to in Vegas.If you are in the market for some artistic body expression, I highly recommend you give these guys a visit. Yes, I'm one of "those" moms who takes her child for a piercing. My daughter wanted her nose pierced, and as I'm somewhat (okay, a lot) of a safety freak, my biggest concern was the cleanliness thereof. They were quite willing to discuss procedures, cleanliness, and their certificates are clearly displayed.Sure, you might pay more for a piercing here than you pay for at a shop in the local mall, but as in most things in life, you get what you pay for.PARENTS: make sure that you have identification for yourself and your child (anyone under 18), as well as documentation that you are your child's parent. Otherwise, it's a no go. They are very strict about the letter of the law. I had to show my daughter's ID, my ID, her birth certificate, and proof that we live in the same residence (showing that I wasn't a non-custodial parent getting my child a piercing without the other parent's knowledge). Also be aware that anyone under 18 can't get a tattoo, even with parental consent. Read Less

Nope.My main issue with this place is the staff acts as though they don't need/want your business and that you're inconveniencing them. Walked in on a Sat. morning in Feb. around 11:30a to ask for a quote for a script tat. I was quoted $300 (for a tat which I subsequently got for about half the price elsewhere). The woman working at the front desk told me they could not get me in that same weekend because "ummm, on weekends, we're umm...usually busy with a lot of walk-ins." All I could think was that *I'M* a walk-in, and there was literally one other person waiting to be seen, and he had an appointment. I then asked what she had available for the following weekend and she told me someone "might" be able to get me in the following Sunday. She went to double check with the tattoo artist who would have done it and came back and told me, "Um...actually, it's going to be closer to $400, and we don't know if we can do next Sunday for sure."At that point I was done. I thanked her for her time, promptly left the studio and went to another studio that had friendly staff and was able to get me in for half the price, as I mentioned, and on the same day (you can look through my reviews to read about my experience there).I know tattoo studios are generally not known for their customer service, but come on. Came in with my wife to get a tattoo only to be treated like our business was not welcome. There was no one there, the girls at the counter could care less about what we wanted. Once we explained the simple tattoo idea the tattoo artist was even less eager to work. The tattoo was very simple no bigger than 4 inches. We could not get a price and the employees looked so mad to be there. Crappy customer service, unenthusiastic employees, I don't think anyone who want to mark themselves for life would want that kind of an experience. The atmosphere is laid back. TVs all around to watch as you're getting tattooed. Staff fairly friendly.Unfortunately for me, my artist upped and left this parlor without telling me, and none of the staff would let me know where he went. So the 2nd appointment to finish my tattoo was stressful. It was unprofessional on both ends in my opinion (more unprofessional on his than theirs.)I find that the price is reasonable for my large side tattoo.  You get what you pay for.  And I have seen nothing but beautiful work come out of this tattoo shop. I heard this place was the best in Hampton Roads; it had a bunch of award winning artists and was clean and new.They are pricier than most other places but I figure you get what you pay for and I wanted to get quality work done. I came in 3 weeks early to make an appt., showed guy what I wanted, see what he could do with it and made a deposit. They asked for $50 and in good faith I put $100 down.The man printed out what I was going to get on the worst printer ever and it came out so blurry you could barely make out what it was it was all pixelated. I was like ok I'm sure hell get a better copy when he gets a chance.Fast forward 3 weeks. 40min after my appt im still sitting waiting on him and i ask the manager if he's finishing up work on someone else. She's like 'no he's cleaning his tools.' ok whateverHe finally comes out and shows me what he drew and it was obviously done about a min prior to him coming out. right next tothat is the same bad quality copy he got from the printer 3 weeks earlier.He admits to having done it right before my appt. I don't like this situation at all at this point so I say it's not what I'm looking for and try to be as respectful as possible.Well, he gets so insulted and he can't even stay in the place and storms out of the shop, totally pissed.They wouldn't give me ANY of my deposit back despite the fact that I put down extra--I won't ever do that again, btw.When I let him know they basically stole my deposit, he gets all in my face like he wants to fight. So, overall it was a total disappointment and unprofessional, and I came out of there knowing it was more about money and less about the art. Read Less
