About 4 years ago, I got 8 piercings at a shop in Atlanta, GA - my nose, a 2nd and 3rd lobe piercing in each ear, the tragus of my right ear, and two cartilage piercings in my right ear. More than 6 months after getting these piercings none of them had healed and a couple were infected. Since they were all done on the same day by the same person, I'm convinced sterilization or jewelry quality was the issue, so I took the jewelry out and let them all close. Fast forward to last month, I decided to try to get a few of the piercings redone to see if I had any complications. I opted to do just the 2nd holes in my earlobes and the two cartilage piercings because quite honestly I was traumatized from the previous experience. V did an excellent job - she was patient, quick, and did the piercings with minimal pain. Today, just 3 weeks after having my piercings done, they are already healing much better than I could've ever expected. Outside of the first 2 days or so, I've had zero pain. There's been no swelling no signs of infection and I have no complaints about my experience. Once I work up the courage, I'm planning to go back and have the rest of my piercings re-done.My only very minor critique is that I wish there was a larger selection of jewelry to choose from. Guys. I seriously can't say enough great things about V!!! I came in to get my nipples re-pierced today (I had them done a few years ago but had to take them out), and she was super sweet and helpful and efficient. I felt super comfortable with her and I love the way they look! She did a fantastic job! People always say the second time you get them done is worse because of scar tissue and all that but I disagree. This was WAY easier and less painful than my first time. This shop has been a wonderful experience all the way around. I came in with my idea and was paired with an amazing artist by the name of Dylan. Not only was I paired with the right artist for my idea by the owner at the front desk, but Dylan took time to go over my idea with me to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. My tattoo came out amazing! Dylan was very courteous and was also very engaged throughout the process; caring about my comfort, my experience, and my idea. I got two tattoos; one of which Dylan actually saved me from accidentally putting on backwards!!! He caught it and we flipped it, and the concept came out even better then originally designed. Whew! Is right! That in itself should give you an idea of the engagement and genuine attention to detail Dylan provided. I felt genuinely cared for; not at all like most tattoo shops, where after you come in you feel like you are unsure, uneasy, and question/doubt the value vs. cost. I am not from this area and accidentally ripped a piercing out of my ear. I researched for a place with the best recommendations to go to. They have wonderful customer service, a variety of jewelry and products, and the shop is VERY clean and nicely decorated! The piercer was able to get an earring in and recommended tea tree oil to help heal it. My ear has healed very well and I will definitely be going back for further piercing and tattoo needs!! Chose this shop based on Yelp reviews and proximity! I called ahead to ask about walk ins and had a very pleasant exchange. Had 3 pieces of jewelry replaced by a guy (names aren't my forte) and one new piercing done. He was  really nice and very gentle and concerned about my comfort, almost too much so! Pricing is super reasonable (less than $40 for everything) and they got me in and out quickly even with a crowd. Set up was clean. I took one star off because they didn't provide me with any sort of aftercare instructions or contact info to follow up with if I had any issues. The place was great, went in for piercings. The girl was very knowable, answered all my questions. She was super quick, it wasn't as painful as I imagined.  The only down side is they seemed in a rush to close which I get they were ready to go home, but would have been nicer not to feel rushed. Put a butterfly back stud in my new helix piercing. I didn't know this was bad until the thing wouldn't stop being red and irritated for weeks. Yes, I did choose the jewelry (in fact, paid $5 more for an "upgrade" from the default curved barbell) but the point is that I didn't know better. I didn't know until I researched it online that butterfly back earrings are fine for lobes but may prevent healing of cartilage piercings and are more likely to harbor bacteria and lead to infected piercings. I didn't know better when I got my piercing, but I would (reasonably) expect a reputable piercing shop to tell me the risks with my choice. Or even better, not have questionable jewelry as an option in the first place. I have thought about additional ear piercings but I don't think I can trust Artisan again.Four stars for the speed and ease of experience.Zero stars for caring about the health of their customers. Went here to originally get my snake eyes (tongue) piercing but after they gave me the full disclosure, I decided to go with my nose instead. I got a septum piercing from V. She wasn't all that friendly, but she was cool. She gave me a minute to get myself together when I started freaking out after the clamp, haha. She kind of explained to me how to keep my piercing clean and free from infection. She used sterilized equipment, I didn't have to question anything. Thank you V! But I feel like I get an extra head nod from people at the grocery store who also have one. It's probably just me imagining it though. Anyway, it hurt a bit but nothing crazy. It was very sterile, very professional, and very reasonably priced. I'm happy with the piercing I got. If I ever feel the itch for something new to be pierced I'd definitely come back. Let me start with this; I will be returning if I feel the itch for a piercing and I will be recommending Artisan to anyone else with that itch. My mom has migraines and heard about this daith piercing, so naturally I grow a pair and decide a need a new piercing. My mom is from Az and was here visiting, so I had to find a place that was clean and knew what they were doing. I was referred to Kat by multiple people, so I went out on a limb and saw this Kat character. I love getting pierced! Kat is hands down, the best, when it comes to piercing. I'm actually running out of space on my ears. She's so fast, I've asked her to pierce slowly so I can enjoy the feeling. But she told me she doesn't pierce slow. I had an excellent experience at Artisan body piercing and tattoo. I came in to switch out my nose stud for a ring. They have an extremely large variety of colors and sizes for nostril piercings.I also saw Kat's dermal piercing work online or also known as surface piercings and end up getting two chest dermals that day. Kat pierced my septum a few weeks ago and it healed great, no issues at all . I've been getting pierced since I was twelve years old and have had alot of bad experiences..Kat by far has been the most knowledgeable and fastest piercer I've ever been to. I came in on a Sunday night to have my triple helix pierced and she just pierced my cartilage to the point where you couldn't even see one of them.. I did not get the chance to see the piercing before I left.... I went in the next morning and they made me feel stupid for coming in. Had an excellent experience here tonight. My friend got a piercing and my hubby got a tattoo. I'll start with the piercing: great price; it came out to right around $20 for the piercing and cleaner. One person was allowed in the back so i went. I literally only had time to ask her piercer, Cat, if i could take a picture (no pics allows in the back) and *pop* she was done. My friend didn't even have time to think about being nervous before the piercing was complete. My friend stated it was one of the best piercing experiences she had had and it came out fantastic. Tattoo: Hubby's tattoo was done by Kai who it sounded like is a relatively new artist to the shop. We asked if they were accepting walk-ins for a relatively basic tattoo and he got us right in. He showed us as he opened everything up and explained his machine's set up as it was different than anything i had seen. He was very friendly and was patient as both he and i explained the tattooing process to my friend who is considering getting a tattoo. He did a beautiful job on the tattoo. The lines are very clean and dark and he was done pretty quick. Although some people don't like this (i prefer it) Kai charges per hour and that hour isn't including breaks. He is working every minute you pay him for. The shop itself is very clean and the ladies at the counter seemed friendly and willing to answer questions. I went in for a Christina Piercing and my piercer was Shelbe. She explained to me why my piercing had to be placed a bit differently and took the time to make sure I was ready for the piercing. It was my least painful piercing ever. A week after my piercing I noticed that it was either rejecting or too tight. I went in and Kat checked everything out. Before even really telling her what was happening she knew what was going on and double checking just confirmed everything. My sister got a bad nose piercing done a year ago and until she left this place, her nose ring is the most comfort she's ever gotten. The nose rings get personally bent here depending on the hole in your nose, and everything is set at a great price so if you do decide the piercing isn't for you, it wasn't a waste! I hadn't heard of this place until I looked into places to get pierced locally and it was really nice to see a new place that specialized in piercing, rather than a tattoo shop with a piercer who worked there time to time. The place is well kept and clean looking. There was also the option to upgrade jewelry to titanium or to add gems or anodize the metal.Shelbee did my piercings and not only did she do a fantastic job, but when I walked into the store, she was alone and handled the large amount of clients well.
