After much research on a studio, I chose Story Teller, and I'm very happy I did. I called ahead to see if they took walk-ins for nose piercings. Danny (the piercer) answered. He was very polite and told me to come on in. I arrived and was immediately greeted. I waited about 10 mins while Danny finished up with another client. He was great with the client before me so I knew I'd be in great hands. When it was my turn, I completed the required paperwork via iPad and was on my way to a new piercing. Danny and I immediately engaged in conversation and I appreciated this because I was slightly nervous so the distraction was welcomed. He prepared my nose for piercing and had no problem showing me the needle when I asked to see it (I wanted to see how small the needle was), he also showed me the packaging. He marked the area for piercing and let me check it out to make sure I was happy with the placement. Then he walked me through the process before he started. He checked to see if I had questions and 2 seconds later upon an exhale, I had a new piercing. He put the ring in, cleaned up the area of the piercing, and walked me through post-care instructions. BOOM! I was finished. The entire process was very quick. I highly recommend Danny and Story Teller. The studio is clean (stations cleaned/sanitized after each client), the atmosphere is energizing, and the staff are very welcoming.Customer Service: A++Sanitation/Cleanliness: A++Friendliness (of all staff present): A++Piercing Process: A++Cost: A++

Can't say enough good things about Storyteller. The place is clean the artists are meticulous when it comes to their equipment and tattooing area. Everything is always packaged, sanitized and new for each client. Both my son and daughter are in the process of getting tattoos here with Bear. He's a rockstar! Talks you through the process from start to finish and willing to work around your schedule most of the time. His work is damn good...I mean it must be if as a parent I'm totally down for my kids coming back each time for more work.

Danny was a gentleman and a hygiene conscious professional that did a fantastic job piercing my 16-year-old's nose. I placed a few calls to shops before speaking to Danny but he had the kind, professional demeanor that put me at ease. He was also very serious that my daughter and I arrive with the appropriate legal documentation; I appreciated his commitment to legitimacy. He agreed to see us without an appointment, then a half-hour later we were nervously standing before him while he quelled both of our fears. He didn't baby my baby, but he certainly didn't treat her like a grown woman either; he knew how to talk to a teen. He asked how she felt about the positioning before piercing and encouraged her feedback. He explained the procedure and then pierced her adorable nose before I could even give a proper yoga exhale. It was quick and painless. While she was snapping pix of her new jewel I was interrogating Danny about how to keep it clean, if I should expect it to swell, etc., etc. This man was kind enough to pretend I was the first worrisome Mama he'd come across. Then he gave me his card, told me his hours and promised he'd be available if anything went awry...and I believed him. But, of course, nothing went awry and today she started her junior year with a perfectly cute pierced nose.

The shop is super clean, the guys all went out of their way to ease her nerves, and Danny checked several times to make sure they were even before piercing them. Not a single tear was shed, and my daughter is over the moon. Would recommend these guys for kid ear piercing any day!! They had cleaning solution to purchase and put labrettes in her ears so the flat back wouldn't bother the backs of her ears. Great place!

I have been coming here for years, and nearly all of my piercings were done here, however, I just realized I have never given Danny all the praise he deserves. No matter my crazy ideas Danny gets it done. He is truly the man. He has a steady hand, and a calming voice that lets you know it's going to be done as quickly and painlessly as possible. As long as Danny keeps on piercing I will keep going to him.

Bear has created multiple tattoos for my whole family. He is creative when you give him your idea and works with your vision to get exactly what you want or he is very knowledgeable to make recommendations to fit your request. During the process he makes you feel very comfortable and at ease. He enjoys witty banter and thinks he tells good jokes. (He is funny tho). Highly recommended!! Bear seems like he really honors his craft and cares about his results.

I took my daughter to get her ears pierced today. She was understandably nervous but the guys at Storyteller were amazing with her. They were both (Danny and Bear) so kind and calm with her. Danny took his time, explained what he was going to do before doing it. Then, they pierced both ears at the same time! Talk about a mom's lifesaver! Otherwise, we would have walked out with only one ear pierced! She is so happy with her new earrings and I'm so thankful I decided to take her there rather than one of those places in the middle of a mall!

Awesome place. I was tattooed by Bear and I had a great experience. All of the artist are funny and welcoming and it creates a relaxed environment for tattooing. I have also had my belly button pierced at Story Teller. Danny was great and walked me through the whole thing. The jewelry to choose from is a typical curved barbel with many different colors. The only thing is they do not have a separate room for piercings, so you are pierced in the middle of the main room. Definitely will be returning!

I was originally going to give this 3/5 stars, because my first experience here was not pleasant. My first tattoo artist was pretty rude towards me, and I almost didn't come back to get my second one done. However, for my second tattoo it was a completely different experience, and I do not believe in giving the shop a bad review over one bad egg. Pina is currently working on my mermaid tattoo and I am in awe with what he has created so far. He is super fun and friendly and makes the entire tattoo experience pleasant. Pina is truly a gifted artist and knew exactly what I wanted with the little information I gave him. If you are looking to get a tattoo done I highly recommend him. He is willing to work with you price wise and truly wants the best outcome for his clients.

I went in last saturday around 2:30 p.m. and met with s nice young man and showed him the pictures that I have had of the tattoo that I wanted. He said that he would draw a sketch and call me back later that day. It's now Wednesday and I have not heard back so I call myself I found out that he did draw a sketch and he apologized for forgetting to call me. They asked for my phone number again and said they would send me a picture of the sketch. It is now Friday and I have never received a phone call or a picture of the sketch. I realize they are very popular and very busy and I could excuse the first time when they forgot but not the second time. I will not get a tattoo at this location. I have several tattoos and have never had an experience like this from other artist's. Wish the outcome had been different.

I moved to Virginia within the last year and decided to get another tattoo. I started like many others would and searched the internet. I read reviews after reviews and looked at countless portfolios. I narrowed it down to a few places and then I asked a fried where he went and he mentioned Storyteller Tattoo. They happened to be on my shortlist so I decided to make an appointment. When I first walked in, the place was clean and professionally ran. Everyone was courteous and I truly felt like a customer and not an annoyance. Jay was my artist and not only humorous, but he is a great tattoo artist. While I was there several others received tattoos and all seemed like quality work. The most amazing part of the experience was the level of integrity that I saw from the staff. The owner, Tim, leads by example when a under 18 year old came in with her parent. She wanted a tattoo on her wrist and Tim refused to do it, stating that is something that can follow you. He explained that you might as well get a full sleeve since you cannot hide a wrist tattoo. Not having weighed all the options, the teen was grateful. Tim also carried the same level of integrity with piercings.If you’re not sure on what you want, I suggest you visit them and have a discussion. They are very insightful and courteous. I would highly recommend them to all.

After much research on a studio, I chose Story Teller, and I'm very happy I did. I called ahead to see if they took walk-ins for nose piercings. Danny (the piercer) answered. He was very polite and told me to come on in. I arrived and was immediately greeted. I waited about 10 mins while Danny finished up with another client. He was great with the client before me so I knew I'd be in great hands. When it was my turn, I completed the required paperwork via iPad and was on my way to a new piercing. Danny and I immediately engaged in conversation and I appreciated this because I was slightly nervous so the distraction was welcomed. He prepared my nose for piercing and had no problem showing me the needle when I asked to see it (I wanted to see how small the needle was), he also showed me the packaging. He marked the area for piercing and let me check it out to make sure I was happy with the placement. Then he walked me through the process before he started. He checked to see if I had questions and 2 seconds later upon an exhale, I had a new piercing. He put the ring in, cleaned up the area of the piercing, and walked me through post-care instructions. BOOM! I was finished. The entire process was very quick. I highly recommend Danny and Story Teller. Can't say enough good things about Storyteller. The place is clean the artists are meticulous when it comes to their equipment and tattooing area. Everything is always packaged, sanitized and new for each client. Both my son and daughter are in the process of getting tattoos here with Bear. He's a rockstar! Talks you through the process from start to finish and willing to work around your schedule most of the time. His work is damn good...I mean it must be if as a parent I'm totally down for my kids coming back each time for more work.

Danny was a gentleman and a hygiene conscious professional that did a fantastic job piercing my 16-year-old's nose. I placed a few calls to shops before speaking to Danny but he had the kind, professional demeanor that put me at ease. He was also very serious that my daughter and I arrive with the appropriate legal documentation; I appreciated his commitment to legitimacy. He agreed to see us without an appointment, then a half-hour later we were nervously standing before him while he quelled both of our fears. He didn't baby my baby, but he certainly didn't treat her like a grown woman either; he knew how to talk to a teen. He asked how she felt about the positioning before piercing and encouraged her feedback. He explained the procedure and then pierced her adorable nose before I could even give a proper yoga exhale. It was quick and painless. While she was snapping pix of her new jewel I was interrogating Danny about how to keep it clean, if I should expect it to swell, etc., etc. This man was kind enough to pretend I was the first worrisome Mama he'd come across. Then he gave me his card, told me his hours and promised he'd be available if anything went awry...and I believed him. But, of course, nothing went awry and today she started her junior year with a perfectly cute pierced nose.

Not a single tear was shed, and my daughter is over the moon. Would recommend these guys for kid ear piercing any day!! They had cleaning solution to purchase and put labrettes in her ears so the flat back wouldn't bother the backs of her ears. Great place!

I have been coming here for years, and nearly all of my piercings were done here, however, I just realized I have never given Danny all the praise he deserves. No matter my crazy ideas Danny gets it done. He is truly the man. He has a steady hand, and a calming voice that lets you know it's going to be done as quickly and painlessly as possible. As long as Danny keeps on piercing I will keep going to him.

Bear has created multiple tattoos for my whole family. During the process he makes you feel very comfortable and at ease. He enjoys witty banter and thinks he tells good jokes. (He is funny tho). Highly recommended!! I took my daughter to get her ears pierced today. She was understandably nervous but the guys at Storyteller were amazing with her. They were both (Danny and Bear) so kind and calm with her. Danny took his time, explained what he was going to do before doing it. Then, they pierced both ears at the same time! Talk about a mom's lifesaver! Otherwise, we would have walked out with only one ear pierced! She is so happy with her new earrings and I'm so thankful I decided to take her there rather than one of those places in the middle of a mall!

Awesome place. I was tattooed by Bear and I had a great experience. All of the artist are funny and welcoming and it creates a relaxed environment for tattooing. I have also had my belly button pierced at Story Teller. Danny was great and walked me through the whole thing. The jewelry to choose from is a typical curved barbel with many different colors. The only thing is they do not have a separate room for piercings, so you are pierced in the middle of the main room. Definitely will be returning!

I was originally going to give this 3/5 stars, because my first experience here was not pleasant. My first tattoo artist was pretty rude towards me, and I almost didn't come back to get my second one done. However, for my second tattoo it was a completely different experience, and I do not believe in giving the shop a bad review over one bad egg. Pina is currently working on my mermaid tattoo and I am in awe with what he has created so far. He is super fun and friendly and makes the entire tattoo experience pleasant. Pina is truly a gifted artist and knew exactly what I wanted with the little information I gave him. If you are looking to get a tattoo done I highly recommend him. He is willing to work with you price wise and truly wants the best outcome for his clients.

I'm sad to write this post but I have to. I never had the opportunity to get a tattoo here. I went in last saturday around 2:30 p.m. and met with s nice young man and showed him the pictures that I have had of the tattoo that I wanted. He said that he would draw a sketch and call me back later that day. It's now Wednesday and I have not heard back so I call myself I found out that he did draw a sketch and he apologized for forgetting to call me. They asked for my phone number again and said they would send me a picture of the sketch. It is now Friday and I have never received a phone call or a picture of the sketch. I realize they are very popular and very busy and I could excuse the first time when they forgot but not the second time. I will not get a tattoo at this location. I have several tattoos and have never had an experience like this from other artist's. Wish the outcome had been different.

I moved to Virginia within the last year and decided to get another tattoo. I started like many others would and searched the internet. I read reviews after reviews and looked at countless portfolios. I narrowed it down to a few places and then I asked a fried where he went and he mentioned Storyteller Tattoo. They happened to be on my shortlist so I decided to make an appointment. When I first walked in, the place was clean and professionally ran. Everyone was courteous and I truly felt like a customer and not an annoyance. Jay was my artist and not only humorous, but he is a great tattoo artist. While I was there several others received tattoos and all seemed like quality work. The most amazing part of the experience was the level of integrity that I saw from the staff. The owner, Tim, leads by example when a under 18 year old came in with her parent. She wanted a tattoo on her wrist and Tim refused to do it, stating that is something that can follow you. He explained that you might as well get a full sleeve since you cannot hide a wrist tattoo. Not having weighed all the options, the teen was grateful. Tim also carried the same level of integrity with piercings.If you’re not sure on what you want, I suggest you visit them and have a discussion. They are very insightful and courteous. I would highly recommend them to all.
