I came here to get my nipples re-pierced after having them out for 2 1/2 year. I was extremely nervous and have anxiety. But he was so calm and funny it settled my nerves. Went in for a walk in tattoo and I had the pleasure of meeting Jose and talking about a flower tattoo I had in mind. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted I just knew I wanted it black-and-white so he help me through the process and we ended up coming up with a realistic Rose. When I mean Rose I mean the actual picture of the rose, If you're looking for realism that is your guy. I am very impressed with the work and look forward to getting more. It's not easy to find an artist really good at realism in my experience. Exposed definitely can be a bit expensive$$$ but I mean ya get what ya pay for, right? THIS PLACE SUCKS! A few weeks ago I got pierced by Ian, long story short, he did not show placement of piercings before or after, his whole demeanor definitely appeared to me that he was  "messed up on something", I did not see until the final product until I got to my car, After it healed I came back to discuss possibly being repierced and was belittled by him and he told me "I did not know what I was talking about" I then went to comes a time tattoo where I was told what an awful job was done and was recommended to take it out immediately (which they did for me) and they actually had me come back a few weeks later and re did my piercing for half the price (since they couldn't believe what an awful job was done the first time) Also don't even bother with the owner, he will pretend to try to make things appear right on yelp but screw you over in person, COMES A TIME IS WHERE ITS AT!!! First, 13 years ago, at age 17 I got my first piercing for a graduation. I cannot remember who did it but I now have 8 tattoos and my 1st one is still the best one. (See picture). Minor touch up needed, but after 13 years, that is expected. Second, I love the bad reviews,  I think the owners responses are actually really funny because from personal experience I know they are friendly, customer service oriented, and do P-H-E-N-O-M-E-N-A-L work. Other people just have a tendency to be salty when they dont get their way. Which, yes, is a perfect reason to be expensive. You pay for what you get. For example: I got one tattoo from Good Times in Manassas (which, fyi is now closed as they should be). It's the worst tattoo I have and needs to be fixed, a lot. I only paid 90$ for it. Again, you get what you pay for. I will be visiting this place on Sunday, to book an appointment for my 9th tattoo with my little brother who is turning 18 in 1 week, and is getting his 1st. So, I guess I will add my little story. I didn't get a piercing here. I knew I wanted one but I was shopping Exposed was the first place I went to. I'm reading these reviews and It just again validates the brief but very icky feeling I had when I talked to the piercing guy. the condescending wall hit me like a ton of bricks when the receptionist introduced me to him. By the way, talking to me seemed to be the last thing he wanted to do and he was not afraid to show it. You know those IT guys that talk all that Jargon and snub their nose at you for not knowing. That was this conversation. A moment came when I just had to say "I have no idea what you're talking about".the whole atmosphere with this guy was like he was just wasted his time with me. Like he has said the same thing over and over again, like I didn't have the money or something, that I wasn't serious. I figured SOMETHING made him feel like he didnt have to even TRY to provide any customer service to me/So I left went to American, and now I have my Dermal!!! :)What was incredibly interesting was what happenedAs I was at the other place filling out paperwork with the extremely helpful and customer service oriented place. Two other people were there, I said I never been here before but I came from exposed. They said yes and proceeded to tell me the bad experience they had before, especially with the piercing guy! I was relieved that when I found out that it wasn't just me. After he got his piercing and I got my Dermal, as I was set to leave 5 other people were in the waiting room. I was checking out and I asked if they get a lot of customers from exposed? Two couples, DIFFERENT couples said "oooh I was there.. no that place has terrible customer service everybody is rude. (I personally thought the receptionist was nice) and the piercing guy seems to not like anybody.You have a reputation. If in ONE day 3 different people NOT INCLUDING myself left your company solely on your lack of customer service skills that is not a good look. I got my first tattoo done here when I was sixteen with my dad. The artist who did it, Josh, was very helpful and guided me through the process. He knew it was my first and did a trial line so I could feel the pain level, and talked to me while he did it. Though it was very small, he taught me exactly how to take care of it and it healed really nicely. At eighteen, I went to get a tattoo on my ribcage by Rooster. I had emailed him prior to the appointment and sent him exactly what I wanted. He told me it wouldn’t be comfortable where I was getting it, but it would be over fast. He was very professional and gave me exactly what I wanted, I even cried when I looked at it. A few days ago, I went to get my nose pierced by Deus. I wasn’t too nervous, but he still helped me calm down. He was eating lunch when I walked in, and we talked jewlery and pricing, then he went and cleaned himself up completely before he even took me back. Everything was unopened and sterile, and he talked me through it. He was very nice and very blunt about taking care of it, telling me to “keep my booger pickers out”, which made me laugh through the pain. He told me to come back in 2 weeks so he could make sure it’s healing properly. This shop is hands down THE BEST!  Super clean. The whole crew is friendly and helpful. Every artist in the joint is top notch! You can't go wrong with any of them. My 1st trip was August of last year with my sister as walk ins.  By some cosmic stoke of luck from the universe we managed to get inked by Vanis Orr.  Vanis was so kind, super friendly, professional and his work is outstanding!! The owner Greg even popped in the room to say hello and check out the awesomeness that Vanis was doing for us. The whole process was smooth and easy and the pricing was amazing.  You truly "get what you pay for" and more at this shop.  It's investment quality tattooing yet it won't "break the bank" if that makes sense. It's super fair pricing. I've sent 3 friends to Exposed who all got tattooed by Rob (who is also outstanding) and last month I brought my daughter in on her 18th birthday. She sat with Rooster for 3 and a half hours for a gorgeous tattoo.  Rooster was so cool and made my daughter feel relaxed and comfortable. He managed to make a hip tattoo not be super painful! Very gentle. I can't say enough about this shop and everyone who works here. If you want QUALITY work by a kickass artist - come to Exposed Temptations. If you're looking to spend $120 on disappointment and red tape, Exposed Temptations is the place for you . Ask for Aimee, she'll take care of that. Do not pay for their services in advance. I've gotten two tattoos here which were perfect and made me love this place initially however when I came in last weekend the receptionist was completely rude and racist and treated me like a second class citizen didn't even acknowledge me and my friends presence taking care of other people who walked in afterwards and putting them in front of us on purpose in line BEFORE me which was infuriating because of this experience it made me feel like I can only come in during the week this receptionist should be fired for her attitude and non professionalism when I asked her simple questions and she started treating me like I was stupid although I've come here before. I walked in, no appointment, everyone was friendly, everyone was cool. I talked to one artist about a tattoo I wanted to get...What I GENUINELY appreciate is when he honestly told me that someone else there would be a better fit for the type of tattoo I wanted. That deserves respect right there. Moving on, I was directed to Van, and after we talked a bit about it, I felt really comfortable getting it done with him. Aside from being EXTREMELY HAPPY with the result, Van's real friendly, easy to talk to, and I appreciated his attention with wanting to make sure I was going to be happy with where I was getting the tattoo, the size, the position, etc. My tattoo is in Farsi, not easy to do when you don't know the lettering, and Van did AMAZING. My friend and I went to exposed temptations as walk ins to get finger tats on May 6th. The wait wasn't long, only about 45 minutes. We were greeted at the front desk and explained what tat we wanted. The woman at the desk was very upfront with us saying a tattoo of this size and location may not hold and we may need a touch up in a few months, which she explained the shop is not responsible for. She said it may end up looking like a "prison tat" which made us chuckle. Totally fine. Our artist was rooster and was cool as shit. Great price, tat was 5 mins or less and my friend and I will have memories for a long time to come. We both have ink on us but this by far was the most painful spot. Just a heads up!! I have been looking for a design that represents what I am as an individual. After a couple of years I found that special design that represents the type of person I am. The challenge was to find now a place that translate the design into a tatoo. A tatoo is a comitment for life and I want it to make sure this was done perfectly. I decided to search around until I find a ad of Exposed Temptation and their Expo. Looking into their website I saw the designs of this amazing artist. Her name is Aimee Hwang. She was able to capture exactly what I want it and made it beyond what I envision. The consultation was smooth. I made my appoinmenet and done. The tattoo maybe took almost 2 hours, I cannot remember, I was playing candy crush :) I did not hurt at all. She was very good and always making sure I was comfortable. Haven't been to the actual shop but I did get my industrial pierced (my first ever piercing) by them at the D.C. tattoo convention. Some places have good customer service but little artistic talent. Other places have good artists but horrible customer service. And some places aren’t even clean enough to consider evaluating other areas. From the time you enter the building at exposed temptations, get your consult, set your appointment, and get your ink, you will experience the entire package here, as you should. I will never go anywhere else to be tattooed. I originally came in looking for Ower after he did an amazing tattoo on my friend. Unfortunately he was booked for the next 4 months so he referred me to Jose and told me Jose could do a great job with the tattoo that I wanted. I am SO glad he did. Jose is so friendly and funny and made the experience so enjoyable. I got a palm tree scene wrapped around my ankle and since I have broken and sprained my ankle dozens of times it was very painful. Jose never seemed irritated when I asked to take breaks, which I am so thankful for. I told him he could add his own touch to my idea if he wanted and he went above and beyond to create a BEAUTIFUL tattoo. There is nothing he could've done to make this any better. Walked in service (can't remember the lady's name, she was super friendly & helpful) was great! The establishment was immaculate and very nicely decorated! My artist was Thom who is new to the area, he was friendly, patient & an outstanding artist! I highly recommend you get to him before he starts getting known!He did the American flag, not the EGA. My piercer Deus was super cool! After a quick consultation on whether the piercings I wanted would work with my anatomy and whether I could/should do them at the same time, I was ready to go. I signed some paperwork, and by the time I was done he was ready to take me back to his station. He made a few marks on each ear to show me options for placement. I asked him to move the placement of one a bit, which he gladly marked and presented to me for approval. Placement decid...ed, he asked me if I was ready; when I confirmed, he pushed the needle through, followed quickly by jewelry, giving me a new snug piercing. Same deal on the other ear, giving me a new inner conch piercing. In less than 10 minutes and with minimal pain, I had 2 new piercings! 3 days later they’re looking fine and don’t cause me any discomfort unless I accidentally knock ‘em. I came here about a year and a half ago to get my second lobes and a single cartilage piercing done by Deüs and the experience couldn't have been more perfect. He was incredibly knowledgeable and let me know what he was doing and why as he was doing it. I hadn't eaten anything yet and nearly passed out from the adrenaline after my piercings, and he was still very professional and calming about the whole ordeal! I've been here before about a year ago to get a small angel wing tattooed on my left inner ankle. Aimee did it, she was quick on drawing up something original based off photos I showed her. She did a great job, she's a bit light handed but that's okay and she was quick, it was all lines and I was done within 5 minutes. A group of friends and I were walk ins and all got something done that day, they were very pleasant, shop is so clean, like you can kinda smell the cleaner. They have comfortable seating and have a bunch of portfolios out so you can view artists work while you're waiting. Today, I called to ask if their piercer was in, the phone was answered promptly and the receptionist is very nice and speaks clearly. She let me know he was there and if I was to walk in today to be there at least 30 minutes before closing and told me the price of my piercing ($80). My husband and I went in around 7 and were helped very quickly and Ian was the one who pierced me. Ian is such a great piercer, he's very professional, has a nice personality and is really good at making you feel comfortable. I got both of my nipples done and he never once made me feel uncomfortable. Some light joking, never inappropriate, and he talked me through the whole process while he was piercing. All jewelry was clean and sanitized and came out of brand new wrappers and was disposed of immediately afterward. He gave me a little pamphlet on aftercare and sent me on my way. I had a mess of a tattoo and Josh turned it into a masterpiece. Josh is an extremely talented artist and made this 4.5 hour tattoo experience awesome. I almost cried when I witnessed my coverup. It was an entirely different tattoo, that I am damn proud to show off. Go to anyone there but Amy. I wanted a coverup and I usually went to vanis (fantastic) but I wanted another artists character in my body so I gave her a shot. I should have known from the start of her not even taking down an outline of the tattoo I wanted to cover that it was going to be bad. But I stayed optimistic due to the shop and artists reputations. I made an appointment 10 days prior and still waited an hour and a half the day of my appointment because she was JUST drawing it when she found out I arrived.there was just no love and care into this, when I look at it, it makes me sad.. Exposed Temptations has some of the most professional and courteous staff I've encountered at a tattoo shop. They have successfully squashed the stereotype that all tattoo shops are run by intimidating bikers. Exposed Temptations recently completed renovations to modernize the front desk/waiting area, give the shop unique character, and further the "welcoming" atmosphere. The tattoo artist I met with was Greg Piper. He is the owner of the shop and has ~25 years of tattooing experience. His patience with creating the custom artwork and attention to detail on the tattoo is outstanding. I've been to Greg 3 times in the past 2 months to complete my half sleeve and will make sure to post pictures once the piece is complete. Each time I was tattooed, I personally watched the artist remove brand new, single use needles from the packaging before performing the tattoo. He took the necessary steps to sanitize the work station and the area of my arm before beginning the tattoo. Also, for the quality of work performed at Exposed Temptations, I found the prices to be fair and competitive with other shops in the area. I walked in here the other day for a concept for my first tattoo. Rob helped me and he was great. He listened to what I wanted and also brought his expertise in. He was fantastic! He was able to tattoo me right there and it only took 1.5 hours. He was attentive to the detailing and took his time for me. I ended up emailing Greg Piper to get the process started. I think he emailed back almost immediately. We set up the first consultation to meet and go over ideas. I was excited. Met with Greg and he was awesome. He was almost more excited about the process than I was. His shop is clean. It is a place you want to have your tattoo done. He did have a wait list- but his finished product was worth the wait. Every week before my appointment I got a call reminder about the upcoming appointment. That was awesome. The woman at the front desk (Michelle) was an absolute pleasure to deal with and more than willing to answer any questions. The finished product is amazing and I get compliments on it daily. I got my nose pierced here by Ian, and he did an AMAZING job! He talked me through the entire process, and he gave me great advice on how to take care of the piercing. All of the equipment used for my piercing were brand new, sealed, and packaged. After it was done he suggested the H2O Ocean spray, and it works great! Wanted to leave a review even though this did happen about a year ago since I just now was able to get a cover up of the piece I got. The tattoo artist who did my tattoo first was was beyond rude, asked how it looked during he said "like fucking shit" as I'm getting a memorial tattoo for my pet who died. I just wanted a small candy heart that said Lola in it. First off he wanted me to pay $120 for this tattoo, I'll let you determine the sense in that. I asked for bright bubblegum pink candy colors instead a gaudy blood gone red. Reason for posting this now is because even after the cover up you can tell the scar tissue of the tattoo he dug in so deep to my skin that it still a year later looks like my skins jacked up. I know how to take care of a tattoo. Wanted to let people know of this issue. Of course a lot of talented people work here as you can see from the pictures, I would just be cautious. I was very bummed after hearing great things that I left upset.EDIT: The shop owner emailed me apologizing and showed great customer service. I think this place sucks for customer service. I called because I was referred to them by a fellow piercing shop to speak with Deuce. The receptionist said he was late for work and should be in "at some point", in a was very lacked attitude tone. So I said ok. Can I leave my number for him to call me regarding my piercing. She said no and that I need to call him back when he's in the shop. I'm a little irritated at this point that she couldn't even take a message OR better yet ask me if there is something she can help me with because she still never asked me that.  I hung up and I followed her instructions and called back six hours later. Same woman answers the phone and said oh Deuce was here but he left early today. She said he will be most likely be in the next day and offered me an email address. I wasn't interested in an email address in which he could take days to get back to me. I was interested in talking to him about an urgent matter. Again, even when I said this, she STILL didn't ask me if there was something she could do to help me. But she did pretend to take my phone number down. So not the positive experience I was hoping for thanks to people basically not doing their job or showing up for their job. Read Less

So my biggest apprehension about walking into a tattoo shop for the first time is feeling like an "outsider."  Sometimes the staff is unwelcoming and doesn't do a great job of making you want to spend your money with them.  So... this was definitely NOT the case with Exposed Temptations.  As soon as we popped into the shop, we were greeted right away and the dude at the desk was super friendly and ready to help us.  We had been stalking one particular artist on Instagram for quite a while (@Ower_Hernandez) so we were pretty excited to book with him.  Ower was friendly friendly and accommodating.  He was real and upfront about expectations.  The whole experience of booking was great.  Last night we got our tattoos and the experience was great.  Ower works very fast and is SO talented.  The shop is very clean and everything seemed to be fresh and sterile.  We settled up with the guy at the front (same guy... super friendly).  I even booked a second piece with Ower and put down a deposit.Like most shops, they aren't gonna draw anything up for you without a deposit.  Totally understandable.  Also, I'm very open to letting an artist be an artist.  I think you really need to check out an artist's portfolio beforehand and make sure you are 100% comfortable about their style and BE SPECIFIC about style when you are booking. Got my first tattoo the other day with Josh Corlin. He did an amazing job. A lot of my tattooed friends commented on how sharp and well done the line work is and I agree.
