It was a very friendly staff, don't get me wrong. But when talking about pricing it seemed like it would be a good price for the one color black tattoo I got. When they were done, it costed more than double what I thought it should've come out to. When I got home and looked at the tattoo more I realized they actually missed a few details from what I had drawn out that should've been pretty simple to draw. I went with my friend whose had plenty of tattoos done at other places, most of them are multiple colors, and lots of details, and he said 3 of his tattoos together were the same price of my one solid black tattoo, which took just a little over an hour. My friend said he didn't like this place one bit. This is my second tattoo but it was my first big/somewhat detailed one that I've gotten, so I'm still new to getting tattoos so I didn't know exactly what to expect. I don't like leaving bad reviews. But my advice is to get a quote from this place on the tattoo you are getting before you actually get it done. Not just estimates on what they normally charge. But you should do that at any place you go really. When I go to get another tattoo from a different place I'm gonna have them add the details that were missing from this one. Read Less

I was so excited to get a piercing on my cartilage but was so nervous. This one guy who was suppose to pierce my ear was very rude to me because I asked him to stop out of being nervous. He packed his needles and other items away and told me he was not going to do my piercing because of my nervousness. I went into the shop a couple of weeks ago for the first time to obtain some general information about tattoos and the process (my first tattoo). Buddha, the front of the house lead greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. Right then and there I decided that I was staying with Addictions and someone in this shop was going to be my artist. To me , first impressions and last speak volumes. Buddha instructed me to look over the the artist portfolios, choose someone's work I l...iked, and to take my time. I chose Joshua Cohn; the tattoo I had in mind required an artist's who's work included bright colors, straight lines and detailed curves. Josh's work was representative of this. Josh was in the studio that day and I was able to consult with him. A few days later he sent me an image of tattoo I wanted with some improvements. Through this process Joshua was very patient and accommodating. I had at least a dozens questions for him. He promptly answered all them to my satisfaction. Today...... was the big day. I went in for my tattoo. Josh welcomed me into his very clean and organized tattoo studio. We chatted for a few minutes then he got to work. My tattoo turned out amazing! He positioned it perfectly on my calf, the colors, shading and details turned out incredible. Joshua is a very talented and professional tattoo artist. I'm very very satisfied with his work. I came here to get my tattoo touched up and upgraded that I got done about 8 years ago at another tattoo shop. Thomas did a wonderful job touching up my cross tattoo and adding the extra details that I wanted to it. He was very nice and was a great guy to talk to. You can tell he loves what he does for a living and is a very caring person. He cares for his clients and for the place he works at. Thomas did exactly what I wanted and more!! To date Carrie Avery has done two new tattoos for me and then a clean up of a very old one and her work is fantastic. One of the things I love best about her is that she has a very light hand. I have scarring on one of my older pieces from an artist with a very heavy hand. I liked her work so much I brought my Mom to get her very first one done with Carrie. Got my tattoo here only because my wife got me a gift card for here because she worked with one of the owners. I went here not long after it opened. The artist that did my tatt was a great guy. (Forgot his name) I personally didn't like the work done though.It was okay, but for a big shoulder piece it turned out sloppy and needed a lot of touch up. Went back for a touch up and he wasn't working there anymore, and no one else would help me. A few months ago I contacted the shop via Facebook, and someone told me come on in and they could help me, but again, a couple of guys that were working said they would charge me $250 to touch it up. GET OUT OF HERE!!! That's almost what I paid. I know they are all contracted, but damn. Recently other shops have quoted $300 -$450 to touch it up because they said it needs a lot of work to make it right. I think they just trying to milk me, but definitely needs a lot of touch up. Many spaces not colored in. Some lines redrawn, and the blue is too green-blueish.I would give 3 stars but a tatt 90% finished gets a star less. The thing is this had the potential to be really nice. Lesson learned. I choose the artist despite who they give me when I walk in. His portfolio wasn't very big and that worried me. Since I'm a nice guy, nice guys always get screwed...  So I'll be working extra hours to pay someone else to get the job done right. This review doesn't pertain to any current artists that are there. This review is long overdue, and only leaving one now because after walking in to a shop tonight for a different tattoo to add under my current one, and asked while I was at it. So I was feeling impulsive and decided for my birthday I was going to get some new body art. I randomly stopped in here and was greeted outside and had a chance to talk with the artist in a non pressure environment. It definitely helped push me towards my decision. I wanted a cover up and to move the covered up piece to a different spot. They were more than accommodating and gave me many suggestions on what could help cover up this unsightly blob on my ankle. I made 2 appointments and went on my way. My first appointment was with Chris, he was intending to do the new piece and the cover up, but was honest with me and let me know he wanted to make sure I got the cover up from someone really experienced. I appreciated the honesty instead of him just going for it and made a second appointment for the next day with Jason. Chris did an excellent job on my tattoo and was incredibly personable the whole time, which put me at ease. And it didn't even take too long at all! The following day, I had my cover-up appointment with Jason. He was very mellow and showed me an amazing design he worked on for me based off of my somewhat loose suggestions. The design is just out of this world and I was so happy that such a talented artist created something so unique for me. I am so happy with my experience here, I've already started discussing my next piece with the artists. I will definitely be coming back.  10/10. Just please remember when you get body art, vet your artists first and don't let them push you to something you aren't 100% in love with. Read Less

Clean place, nice showroom with books and collections of the artists work. Went there to get a fix up of an old tattoo. Thomas was really great, friendly. Our family set up an appointment with this shop for a very special tattoo for all us. We left a deposit of $80. The appointment was cancelled 24 hours in advance because of a conflict the artist had over one of our daughters. We went to another shop and had them done. He said he would hold the deposit until February. However when my daughter called to set up an appointment the following week to use the credit,  he now says the deposit is for the whole family not just one person. So we will lose the deposit unless the whole family comes in. We tried to call the shop to talk to the manager or owner but we were stymied by Chris and not allowed to talk with them. We were not looking for a refund, just the service that we paid for. Terrible business model.Update:The owner did call us back after an email was sent and after this review was posted and offered a $ 40 dollar credit to her. Much better. I just booked a consultation for my second tattoo with Jason Charles-Bois. He did an amazing, creative take on the Morton's salt girl. It was a cover up and I am so happy together have heard about Jason's work. The front desk staff was welcoming and made me laugh when I was nervous. Both Jason and the front desk staff were very welcoming, as opposed to a very different experience at another tattoo shop in Arlington. If you don't live near Manassas, it's worth the drive! If you go here, DO NOT GET JASON!  He f***'d up my tattoo so bad that I had to get another professional to fix it the best he could. When I complained about the poor tattoo, jason just laughed at me.  I am absolutely disappointed and pissed that I spent that much for something that should have been so simple.  I am guessing that he must have been high at the time.
