I last minute decided I wanted to go get a tattoo at 7 o’clock in the evening. On such short notice, Ethan agreed to do my tattoo and he did an amazing job! The only thing is they take cash only which I did not know until after I got the tattoo. Luckily my friends were carrying cash on them. Other than that small inconvenience, it was an overall great experience. I am completely in LOVE with my new ink!

I have always loved the style of work here at James River and decided today to get my first tattoo. It was a customized request for a small heart and lotus tattoo, and Ethan had it sketched up and I had my lovely tattoo within an hour ❤️

I was happy with the design of the tattoo and it was drawn well but applying it is a different story. It has crooked lines that I didn't notice at the time. Part of that is on me for not being observa...
I was happy with the design of the tattoo and it was drawn well but applying it is a different story. It has crooked lines that I didn't notice at the time. Part of that is on me for not being observant enough to point it out (kinda on my skin at that point so idk really what could have been done). I also developed a surface infection. This is my 5th tattoo and I'm fully aware of proper aftercare. My skin split open that will more than likely scare. The tattoo was supposed to be a tribute to a loved one that passed away. I'm really bummed and sad my tattoo tribute turned out this way. I should have trusted my gut instinct NOT to get a tattoo in Lynchburg. 😞

Ethan is a great artist. His work looks great even years after it's been done. It's a fun shop, makes you feel comfortable. Prices are reasonable.

Got my first tattoo here, on my chest. I had to wait 30 minutes passed my schedule time, but that wasn't a huge deal. They were professional, kind, and helpful. Cleaned it after and had good tips to keep it clean/healthy.

Went to get a tattoo here. Nice atmosphere, but the place had some faulty equipment. Tattoo did not come out how I wanted it. Probably a mix of the equipment malfunctions and the 'artist's' complete lack of interest in my tattoo. I plan on getting it fixed though. Of course, it will happen somewhere else, and not by this shop. So I am giving 2 stars because maybe it was a bad day for the guy. His tattoo gun kept turning off and on. Maybe he could have done a better job had that not been the case.

I decided I wanted to get my first tattoo. My sister recommended this place and while I was in Lynchburg last weekend I went! I am soooo glad I did. James River Tattoo was clean, personable, helpful, very professional and they did an awesome job on my tattoo. Ethan was my artist and ensured that my tattoo was what I wanted and talked me through the entire process. Thank you James River Tattoo . . . I am extremely happy with your work!

I last minute decided I wanted to go get a tattoo at 7 o’clock in the evening. On such short notice, Ethan agreed to do my tattoo and he did an amazing job! The only thing is they take cash only which I did not know until after I got the tattoo. Luckily my friends were carrying cash on them. Other than that small inconvenience, it was an overall great experience. I am completely in LOVE with my new ink!
