I went in and got some lettering done, and the artist did an excellent job. However, I was a little turned off when I found out that there is a $25 touch up fee. After about 4 weeks of getting it done, a tiny amount of ink had fallen out of one of my letters, and it would seriously only take about a minute to fill that spot back in. But I don't feel like I should have to pay a touch up fee as other tattoo artists in the area guarantee their own work and do touch-ups for free. Read Less

Went here to see about getting a tattoo that had red/pink coloring in it. The blonde guy I spoke with told me that I was "too dark" for the color red/pink tattoo. When I explained to him that I got the idea from a woman who is the same exact complexion as myself; he then said it would cost $250.00 for him to do it. I got the impression that he didn't want my business so I left. That day I went to 4 other shops asking the same thing and not one person quoted me over $150 (which was exactly what I expected it to cost) and not one of them told me that I was "too dark" for color. I ended up getting the tattoo at Studio 7, in red, with no problem! I will never go back there and don't suggest anybody who's skin is "too dark" go there either! Read Less

Awesome shop, not first tattoo but first time at Caspian. Rob did amazing work, took the idea exactly how I had it envisioned in my mind and made it a reality. I've been using Caspian's for a long time, I got my first tattoo from them 14 years ago when they were still located across from the airport. Canaan and Cody are both amazing and have great personalities! Dave Rose is also pretty awesome. HOWEVER, the rest of the staff seriously needs a lesson in customer service. The last several times I've been in there, I have encountered some seriously condescending attitudes. Take it down a notch guys. Earlier this week I sat in there and listened to 3 staff members ridicule someone for calling and asking a question. Apparently someone was out of town and got a tattoo and called caspians to ask a question and they literally told him "Idk go back and ask the person who tattooed you." Then proceeded to stand around making fun of him/her for having the "audacity" to call them after not being tattooed by them. OBVIOUSLY they thought you guys were knowledgeable and wanted your freaking opinion. It's not like they were tattooed down the street, THEY WERENT EVEN IN LYNCHBURG. And you know what? If that's the only thing that happened that day I could have easily let it go and chalked it up to "being in customer service can be draining and I caught them on a bad day." But then I listened to another artist and his customer discussing color options. The customer started a sentence and the artist RUDELY cut her off saying "No. No. I won't do it. If that's what you want you can go somewhere else." What the actual f*^k?! You don't think there's ANY other way you could have worded that?! If I were that customer I would have said keep the deposit and found a friendlier atmosphere. Because let me remind you guys, tracing is not rocket science. You are not brain surgeons. Yes there are artists at caspians with amazing talent (named above) but I have yet to be impressed by the ones this review is aimed towards. Now with all of that said, I will always say you will be hard pressed to find a cleaner tattoo facility than caspians, and they are constantly expanding their knowledge in the industry. There's something to be said for that. That's also why I don't mind paying higher prices to go to them. However, PLEASE get a grip on the arrogance. It's not necessary, and a huge turn-off. My friend and I went there tonight after making an appointment last night. First off, we were not told when we made our appointments that the tattoo artist that we were booked with only did black ink tattoos, despite the fact that you have to put down $35 to even book the appointment, not all of which goes to your tattoo. Then when we arrived tonight for our appointments with John he was quite rude to us and constantly talked to us like we were complete idiots and had no idea what we were talking about despite the fact that we both already have tattoos. He then proceeded to tell me he couldn't even do what I want (even though I have talked to other tattoo artists and they have confirmed it can be done) so I lost my $35. My friend did wind up getting a tattoo and it was done well and quickly, but John did NOT make it an enjoyable experience and we will not being returning for another tattoo. Read Less

Anyone knows when getting tattooed you like to be in a good & chill atmosphere that is very clean and professional well today I experinced that when getting my first tattoo from Caspians!!!:) Earlier in the week I got my second hole on my ear lobes pierced by Ariel, she was super knowledgeable on the jewelry and piercing sites, also she was very sweet!! Today upon my arival Garrett presented me with a beautiful drawing of my ideas! He made sure I was comfotable during whole tattoo and cattered to my musical needs also. The whole staff there seemed very friendly and happy :) most definately will be returning for other tattoos and piercings in the future!The prices may seem a little far fetched when you hear them but well worth it for the finished artwork! Not a good experience with tattoos. I went to get my first tattoo, which comes with a 35 dollar NON refundable deposit to secure a time. Ended up running 15 minutes late. By the time the artist came out it had been another 10 minutes and me and my girlfriend couldn't get tattoos at the same time slot. Walk-ins dont exist on Saturday so they said, even though they previously stated they did have them. I'm sure they do great work but I won't be getting any work done at this place. Ended up going to James river tattoo place downtown and we walked in and they had me and my girlfriend done in 45 mins. Read Less

Do not get your belly button pierced here. They are very helpful and nice when you get it done but have no idea what the are doing. They pierced too much skin and a terrible infection grew, we came in and we were blamed and not treated well. Read Less

The only place I would go for a tattoo or piercing in Lynchburg! I got a tattoo from Rob a few months ago and it was beautiful. I still have to go in to get it retouched, but I expect that to be just as professional as the original tattoo. I recently went in to get my rook pierced. The piercing itself was wonderful. I was taken care of quickly and professionally and the entire experience was much less painful than I expected. But I was informed just to clean my piercing with warm water, which I did for a few days. But, of course, my ear swelled up and was very painful, so I had to take to the internet to see that I should probably clean it with water and sea salt, which helped almost immediately.
