I posted a review a couple of weeks ago concerning this business, but was told if I retracted the review I would have my deposit and the FACT I was overcharged applied to a future tattoo.  I have decided I do not want people who do business in this way to do any future work on me.  I had an appointment with Anastasia, but I had to cancel the appointment due to being called out of town on business.  When I called, I let her know I was out of town and would not be able to make the appointment.  She told me she would have to "keep" my deposit, but she could work with me and give me $50 back.  I hung up with her, and began thinking about my overall experience.  I had already sat thru two appointments with her.  Each session was supposed to be 3 hours, but neither lasted 3 hours.  One lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes, and the other lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes.  I was charge $140 pretty hour for each visit.  I paid $420 after each appointment.  This means I was overcharged by $140 between the two visits.  I called her back to let her know I would not be coming back to the shop, and they could keep the deposit due to me no longer wanting to do business with them any longer.  I got home from being out of town later that evening.  This is when I decided to leave a "Yelp" review.  About an hour later Arial called me and "explained" how fast Anastasia works, and how other tattoo artist take more breaks than Anastasia.  He also said the statement about losing my deposit is not on the receipt, but on Paperwork I signed before the first visit.  Anastasia originally said it was on my receipt.  He did say he would have her call me and work this out.  The next day, Anastasia called me.  It sounded like she was reading from a piece of paper, but explained she would not only take care of the overcharge, but apply the "deposit" towards a new tattoo.  I was hesitant, but I agreed.  One of the conditions for the future pricing discount was I remove the "Yelp" review.  I was going to leave it up until the next appointment was complete, but Anastasia called me the next day and asked if I could remove it.  Not very polite about it, but I understood the reason.  I removed it in good faith.  The more I have thought about doing business hear again the more doubts and concerns I have gotten.  I called today to cancel the follow up, and asked if I could have the deposit back.  Not the overcharge, but just the deposit.  Anastasia said deposits are only for future appointments.  I said ok, not wanting to speak to her anymore than I have to today.  This business will overcharge, and try to make you out to be the bad guy.  I can never recommend them to anyone.  The "work" is good, but the business practices do not match the work at all.My response to the completely bull shit lie from the owner :I called both times I was going to miss the appointment.  My appointment this time is actually on Friday 6/22 at 4pm.  The first time I called to cancel was on a Wednesday.  Which by your supposed policy, is well within the two day time frame.  The second was the day of the appointment, but being u had already given your shop $840 for my tattoo, I thought you would be understanding.  Once again, you are making up excuses instead of actually charging the correct price.  I was there for 5 hours total, and charged for 6 hours.  I am going to ask one time for aerial not to lie to save his reputation.  It makes it worse.  At this point it is not about the money, but it is about letting people know your business practices do not benefit your clients in the least.  I only wanted the "deposit" back out of principal.  This will be turned over to the better business bureau from here. So uh I went to khaos just yesterday from posting this and my of mice and men logo came out way better than expected ,I was very pleased and the tattoo artis I believe her name was Ariel (but I’m trying to remember ,she had her for arm completely blacked out )she was awesome ,doing way more on the artwork than I could ask for so yeah you got major cred from me and yes I will be back for many more ,peace and she deserves this review of five stars the whole crew and building does -mark beach Read Less

Paula is not only a tattooist, but an amazing artist! She worked with me on an original design, making it workable for a tattoo. She repaired and enhanced two older tattoos...now I can be proud of them. They take the time to consult and explain what will work, what won't and why. The shop is peaceful, relaxing, clean and comfortable. My tattoos have energy, spirituality and meaning. I get goosebumps when I look at them because I know that no one else has these designs...they're totally me. Their equipment and concern for sterility is state-of-the-art. If you want a tattoo, there are a few places you can go...pick a design, get drilled, BUT, if you want a work of art...go to Khao's Ink. My work is done for the season, but I'll be back in November! I don't even know where to start, or how to express how pleased I am with the quality of work that Khaos produces !Okay, so maybe I'll start from the very beginning. I had been In search of an artist since like 2015. Every shop I would go to would be pretty good work, but awful customer service. You ever feel that when you walk into a shop, they just stare at you like "wtf do you want" lol. Well that's what I felt everytime I walked into other shops, so everytime I would just walk my ass on out.I recently found Khaos Ink online. I don't even remember how I found them , but I am thrilled that I did. First off, customer service is on fuckin point ! When I called, Paula answered the phone and she legit was the sweetest person to talk to, super upbeat and extremely helpful In answering all my questions and listening to my ideas. She referred me to an artist named Ariel. I instantly felt comfortable talking to her and making a consultation with Ariel. Now fast forward..... I met with Ariel and all I had was and idea and a reference picture. I told him I wanted something completely original that complemented my body frame (I was getting a chest piece). We talked it over and I felt extremely comfortable with just leaving all the designing in his hands. I had seen his previous work before so I was confident he wouldn't disappoint me. Fast forward to my first appointment... when I saw what he had drawn up, I was blown tf away! Lol but seriously, this man is an ARTIST. He's not just some guy that can put a needle to some skin, he is a real life artist. He took my idea and executed it perfectly!. This piece came out to be sooo beautiful! Fyi: not only is Ariel an extremely talented artist, but he also has a great hand. I was damn near falling asleep during each one of my sessions lol.This shop is also VERY clean. You won't have to worry about getting some weird ass disease in here. EVERYTHING is wrapped in plastic and always sanitized.It's a shame this place isn't as popular as it should be. It should definitely be the first thing to pop up when you Google " Badass tattoo artists in Virginia " lol.I've also had the chance to see the other two artist work, Paula and Anatasia. Certified badass badge goes to those two women also! I love the artistry of tattoos, so it's incredible when you see all these amazing artist with different styles come together to make a versatile shop with with quality art. I just discovered Khaos Ink during the Hampton tattoo convention. As I walked by Paula greeted me nicely and answered my questions. After talking to her and looking at Ariel's work I knew I found my artist. I was scheduled for the next day. When I arrived I talked with Ariel and we came up with the tattoo I wanted. I was incredibly impressed with the amount of time he took listening and helping me come up with the perfect tattoo, especially during a convention. During the tattooing he explained what he was doing and listened to my inputs. After the fact he wrapped it and explained aftercare instructions and insured I was good to go. I've had all of my tattoos done at Khaos Ink and could not be more happy with both Ariel and Annastazia's work. Ariel always seems to put together one of a kind designs based on my thoughts/ideas with limited guidance. I no longer live in Gloucester and still drive back (3hours) to spend a day getting tattooed at Khaos Ink. The shop is incomparable to any other shop I have visited. It's clean, friendly, and has a welcoming design. If you need a tattoo done professionally and right then you need to come talk to Ariel at his shop. Khaos ink is by FAR the best tattoo shop around in Hampton roads. Ariel has been working on my sleeve an entire year. I have had over 10 sessions with him and he has delivered a 10 out of 10 every time. He is the most down to earth, intelligent, and professional artist I have ever been around. He has met or exceeded my expectations for my sleeve and his artwork. There are a lot of places in Gloucester County to get a tattoo but out of all of them I would highly recommend Khaos Ink to any of my friends thinking about getting a tattoo. The store itself is very well decorated, clean, sanitary and comfortable. The staff at Khaos are all very friendly, super knowledgeable and easy to talk to you. My specific artist was "Annastazia". Excellent shop and atmosphere. I've had a lot of work done by Ariel and staff and I have to say that the quality, cleanliness of the shop, and work is miles above other shops I've had work at. Now before you presume that I'm one of their friends just here boosting them for reputation points allow me to say I've had work done at just about every shop in this county. When Khoas opened I went to see them for some work as well. I wish I would have had all of my work done there. I, in fact, have plans of having a lot of my previous work re-done there. Their attention to detail, quality of work, care for their customers, and overall attitude cannot be compared to other shops in the county. By far the best shop in Gloucester. I encourage you to see for yourself, especially if you have had work done at other shops.
