My daughter and I had our first tattoos made and we had an awesome experience. Chris was friendly, knowledgeable and detail oriented. We discussed size, shape, and color ahead of time so there was no guessing. He was also patient and made us feel very comfortable throughout the process. Lots of old school Sailor Jerry tattoo art hanging up which I liked. Staff are patient and dedicated. One artist tattooed three of my friends and stayed hours overtime to finish. Julie did my naval piercing 3 months ago. She said I could change my ring after 1 month. I was told the healing process was 1-3 m's I got new ring today made of gold & stopped into a body art shop close to my house to find out about cleaning my new ring. I was told that I should not change it out for 6 m's after it was pierced it takes 6 m's - 1 yr to heal. The lady was nice enough to tell me I could come back in 3 m's & she would change it & check the healing process. She happened to ask if she could see it. I showed her. She ask if the ring I was currently wearing was what they used when I got it pierced...it was! Needless to say she told me she was going to clean my new gold ring and change it right then & there! Here is why (WARNIG) the ring I had which was purchased at 138 & I was told that it was for first time piercings It was low grade stainless steel and the balls were made of acrylic....acrylic is toxic & can give you an infection also break down & get into your bloodstream!! I spent a lot of time looking for a good tattoo/piercing shop since moving to the area and am really happy to have found 138 Tattoo. We had a custom tattoo drawn up and done by Steve for my daughter who lost her Dad. Steve did an amazing job and the tattoo has lots of detail to it. I had an older tattoo worked on & more detail added to it, and it looks even better than when I first got it.Everyone that works there is very professional. Every artist has things they are good at, things they are not so good at, etc. There are several good artists at 138 for tattoos. Be sure to communicate what you are looking for. Having reference pictures, etc is definitely a good idea. (Basically the more you can give them to go off of, the better they can be sure to be on the same page as you.) They have very reasonable prices for tattoos and piercings alike, as well as a decent selection of jewelry (especially for the area.)Well worth checking out. Read Less

I absolutely love 138 Tattoo. Me, mum and dad have all gotten tattoos done there and I do not regret a thing I've gotten done! Keith did my tattoos and his designs, shading and lettering is fantastic. James, the owner, did both my parents (along with Keith doing a lot of my dad's also) and he is amazing with that needle of his. When I went in to get help with my lip piercing, Julie helped me out and she is extremely kind and very helpful. Over all, 138 Tattoo is filled with good company and great artists.
