Took my daughter to get her cartilage pierced, we were greeted as soon as we walked in. They needed proper id for my minor which I thought was Awesome!!! We waited maybe 5 mins to be called back. My daughter was nervous and Ryan talked to her calmed her down and did the piercing. Afterwards my daughter felt dizzy and he had her sit down and gave her a lollipop and talked to her until she felt well enough to leave. Prices were very decent not over priced! I have gotten two tattoos here and love them and I just scheduled my third tattoo appointment. I highly recommend Justin. He has great people skills, knowledge of tattooing, and is talented. I got a nose piercing.  The lady that did my piercing was very nice. My brother and I came here to get tattoos that we picked out for each other. The artist did an okay job on mine, but the one for my brother is lopsided, shakey, uneven, and full of blowouts. I would give this zero stars if we were just going based on his tattoo. Most of the time we were in the shop, the two artists there were complaining about the owner and it was an extremely negative environment. I came in to get my first tattoo, and I had a very pleasant experience. Justin was really cool and eased my worries since I was a bit nervous, considering it was my first tattoo. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and the music playing in the background was a nice, comforting touch. Not sure I would feel good letting a pet get tattooed here. On the particular night I stopped in the 2 men, and girl that were there seemed either total out of it or totally uninterested in doing a tattoo. Showed them what I was interested in doing and they basically stared at each other, and said um ah who what's to do it, um yeah I think we can do that, um so you doing it, you do it your up. I didn't feel a single bit confident!  I didn't get an overly confident feeling of clean compared to other tat shops either. We were directed to a pub that while we waited. Then we were tattooed into the new year. I have no experience with their tattoo artists, this is a review for the piercer:I've only been in there once and that was yesterday when my nose ring came loose at work and I needed somewhere close by that could (supposedly) fix and secure it for me. It's a pliable metal, if it could come loose on its own you'd think it'd be very quick and easy for a licensed professional piercer to tighten it back together with the proper tools. Not the case here. To the gentleman's credit he was cordial and friendly but it was obvious he really had NO clue what he was doing. After a few half-hearted tires to push the opening in the hoop together, he said it just wasn't going to go any further and I had probably damaged it when trying to secure it myself. That's fair; I am not a professional piercer or jewelry-handler so it's entirely plausible that this was the case. I asked if they carried any nose rings that he could put in for me since the one I had was supposedly damaged; he said that they only carried stud jewelry but that if I wanted a ring I could always just go to Hot Topic or Spencer's -- BIG red flag.In all my years of being involved in body modification I have NEVER encountered a reputable piercer worth their salt that would EVER recommend jewelry from those establishments to clients; they're poorly made with cheap, porous metal that can harbor tons of bacteria (especially in the nose, I mean come on) and my piercers back in my hometown that I always went to would actively discourage buying jewelry from there for those reasons. I didn't say anything of this nature to him, I simply thanked him, tipped him for his time, and left. I wound up making the trip out to Golden Monkey after work to see if they carried the jewelry I needed, and while they did, turns out I didn't need it; my ring was not damaged in any way, and the lovely gentleman there tightened it, fixed it, and actually made it MORE secure than it had been before in about 2 seconds. I'll be commending him for his service in a review for Golden Monkey here shortly, but the point of this review is that the piercer at Sorry Mom's is not someone I would trust with caring for, much less performing, a body modification. You're likely best off going elsewhere for those services. Read Less

Over a month ago, first time I went in for a consultation I had Called about days before, I was not greeted with any niceness whatsoever. The spindly little man, with some sort of facial hair and glasses, who Did acknowledge me snarled at me when I asked for a specific artist and seemed positively peeved and acted like I was a creep for asking for her by name. I was very put off. I had to wait about 11-12 ish minutes before he got back to me on whether she was available and then acted like I was a bother and nothing but stupid and in the way. I felt awful. More awful when I had come offering my money and talked about my design with the artist and more than a lot was being changed I was told I couldn't get any work done that day even though there was only one guy getting his arm done. I have been rethinking the whole thing and the more I do I am convinced I won't be going to get my ink done there. I had also had to drive 2 hours and 36 minutes to get there because when I had called twice(!) before going in and I asked how far it was from Norfolk/VA Beach area they said 30 minutes or so both times. Only when I googled it myself did I find Holy Cow my tank would be devoted to a disappointing drive and rejection. Read Less

The gentleman who did the piercing was professional and nice to my girlfriend, but the woman at the counter was unfriendly and standoffish, some gentleman named Kenny was rude (maybe having a bad day, but leave that out of the work place). My sister & I went here not long ago to get our tongue pierced. We have never been here nor heard about it, we just thought since we were up this way might as we'll. I got a tattoo and a nose piercing done here. The tattoo turned out exactly as I wanted it, and the people were friendly, but I was given no aftercare instructions. Thankfully this was my second tattoo and I knew what to do.The piercing on the other hand was completely new to me, as I'd only had my ears pierced. I've only ever gotten piercings at this place.  They do them super cheap ($25 + 10% of the total charge ) (any where in northern Virginia charges you at least $45+) every one is always friendly,  opens everything in front of me and lets me know general after care.The only thing thats kind of weird is that,  in most piercing places (in my experience)  you are taken to a separate room where all the equipment and stuff is and there is a bed to lay down on for a more private and comfortable experience.I've been pierced here twice,  and both times its been in a chair in the middle of the shop.  So random people  paying at the register can/have watched me get pierced. To me,  its not a big deal,  if anything,  its funny to chat with them about my piercing later. But if you're someone that cries or gets anxiety or dramatic,  this might not be the place for you unless you are comfortable with an audience. LolOther than that,  I recommend this place to any one.  Its quick,  clean, and cheap.  Just not private haha Read Less

I got a tattoo done here back when I was an idiot and the tattoo artist who had god of fuc* tattooed on his chest kept going in the back room with his friends getting high but I figured for 50$ it was still cheaper than other places! plus I got a matching tattoo with my best friend (don't do that). Needless to say after he was done I hated it! It was supposed to be a lily and everyone made fun of me saying it looked like an upside down octopus. Ryan came up with several ideas for us to pick from-- all of which were awesome- and we picked our favorite. Very professional atmosphere, very clean studio. The guys were super fun to talk to and all the portfolios looked great. We love his tat and I'd definitely get inked there. Came here upon the recommendation of a friend. I would have went somewhere else if I weren't so cheap. The place looks dilapidated, it's dark, didn't really see many places for hand washing but plenty of hand sanitizer which I find odd for a tattoo shop since I feel you should wash your hands before you deal with ANY client; after a while, you GOTTA wash your hands (I used to work in a hospital and they emphasis this).And there aren't any designated or personal rooms for customers. When I got pierced, I sat on a stool in a wide open room where I could probably watch someone else get tattooed within a couple of feet, and all the piercers' tools were in one big drawer?The woman who pierced me was very nice, but this just wasn't a place that I felt welcomed back to. I had some questions about my piercing and just ended up going somewhere else and they seemed more patient and happy to help me....and they weren't the ones who pierced me.This was my first professional piercing and the experience was lukewarm. I was provided with, after going to other shops and seeing how they operate, some pretty vague aftercare.My piercer was great but the whole vibe seemed like they had anything better to do than talk to you. One Saturday afternoon in college as we waiting for our Soup and Taco order, we decided to mosey over into Sorry Mom and I decided on a whim to get my nose pierced. I spoke with the employee about what would be involved, how much it would cost and where he thought I should place the stud. I know the owner of this place, he owns and works out of a different shop in Stafford but has employed fantastic gentle men at sorry mom! Saturday my friend and i went in to get piercings. i spoke with Tommy last week about the piercing i wanted to get and he was helpful and willing to accommodate what i wanted. my friend just wanted her tragus re-pierced and Tommy didn't it for a fraction of the price. i got my daith pierced and love it! due to the width of my daith Tommy was concerned with the size of the earring i brought in (which i had spoken about with him) and suggested i get a standard bar for the swelling. i look forward to going back and having him help we swap out earrings! My friend and I got matching foot tattoos done by Wes three years ago. He flipped the tattoos in opposite directions so that they would match but not be identical; which was clever. My son got his first tattoo done by Ryan which also turned out great.  Ryan was a wonderful person for a first timer; he asked me if my tattoo was going to be my first and I laughed because I have tattoo older than he is. The only bad thing was on our return visit for a touch up; the guy that greeted us at the door said we couldn't get out touch-ups on a Saturday because that is when they have the most business. Well I am big on customer service and that left a bad taste in my mouth and for that reason I have not been back.  For a business to thrive you must be good to all your customers that statement said to me, that he was only interested in new money and old money be damned. I wanted to get my 2nd eyebrow picercing for my birthday. I called Sorry Mom and found it was only $20 for any piercing. I was excited that it was so cheap. But even if it was free, I would not have gotten it done when I arrived to the scene.Now, being a local, I understand the history and old age of the buildings, but the shop was dirty and unsanitary. I went to use the restroom and saw that some scaffolding in the walls were falling out, showing a dirt and brick interior.  Unsteady shelves of cleaners and chemicals lined the right wall.To top it off, when I came out of the bathroom, this is the conversation that ensued between me and the piercer (I refuse to use the word artist because he is far from it):Piercer: Sit down right here.Me: Is that a barbell? I kind of want a hoop...Piercer: A barbell heals better. Sit down.Me: I still have to go fill out the paper work out front.Piercer: *proceeds to cop an attitude* Well then go fill it out then!Needless to say I scoffed and walked out. There was no privacy, no cleanliness, and the guy was a complete jerk to a paying customer.The only redeeming experience was the receptionist/greeter that was very nice when I walked in.I hope this place either fixes itself up or gets shut down. We walked in at about 8 or 9 p.m. after eating ice cream across the street at Lee's Homemade Ice Cream. Call it impulse, call it an insulin-inspired decision, but here we were, scanning the books and designs around the front section of the tattoo place. A really friendly artist named Ryan came over to ask what we were looking for. I turned and said, "Oh, she wants my name tattooed on her finger." After a few seconds he regained his composure and began describing the details in a very professional manner. He sat us down, and had her fill out a release form. While we filled out the form, Ryan asked, "So how long have you been married?" I said, "Oh, we're not married." He looked a little surprised and then explained most people who decide to get someone else's name tattooed on their finger end up dissolving the relationship within six months of the tattoo. He said he would still do it, but he just wanted to warn us.He was a really nice guy and was very thorough in describing all his methods and provided great answers to our questions. He charged $50 for the finger tattoo, for about 30 minutes of work. Very reasonable price, very professional artist. Clean shop. Read Less
