I've gone to this shop several times, to either buy jewelry, get a jewelry change or both, and every single time I am blown away. Not only is their service amazing, but there jewelry is high quality and second to none. They have helped me out considerably when it comes to new jewelry/piercing issues since I got pierced in my late teens when I was at college at some not so stellar places. Yes, they are pricey, but honestly the service and jewelry is worth every penny to me. This has now become the only shop I go to if I'm ever in need of anything piercing related, and would be happy to one day be pierced by one of their professionals. It's been a few years since I've got my tattoo from this location. As you can see, it looks like it's bruised. The dude who did my tattoo few years ago is still there to ruin people's life like mine. It took him 3 minutes to do mine without any hesitation. I truly hate it. I wish I did more research on this location than just going after few good reviews. I got my first tattoo here the day after I turned 18 and they knew I was easily manipulated and totally took advantage of that. I've gotten four tattoos since then at different places for more reasonable prices and way better customer service. I had booked an appointment weeks in advance and when I got there they didn't have my name down so this older man said he could take me. He bullied me into a font that I kept saying looked crooked and had his ugly rat dog standing there the whole time. He also made fun of me for being young and was incredibly demeaning and made me feel very uncomfortable. The tattoo has already started to fade and the lines are far from clean. The font is blotchy and wiggly. I've never been treated more like a child in my life and I took it because I was a newbie but now I know better. You're better off going to a richmond or dc store where they don't take advantage of suburban people who don't know a lot about tattoos. Read Less

I shouldn't even be giving this tattoo palace one star! I'm giving it one star because the receptionist was pretty nice. Damn the piercer was damn mean! I was really excited to go for my first piercing. When I entered the room with my friend, the piercer was like lay down you items on that end bla bla bla. Been here a few times for a tattoo. The entire staff has always been friendly and approachable. Everything is clean and the decor is very comfortable and inviting. I wanted to love the experience, but here is what happened. I went in on Tuesday to get 3 tattoos, two very smalls and one medium sized wolf, I was told that I would have to come back for the wolf because of too much detail. That's fine I understood. I scheduled the wolf for Friday and and went back to get the other two done. A smiley and my birthday in Roman numerals. Before he started he said give me a few minutes while I go smoke. TF ‍That was fine they were both done in less than 10 minutes once he got back. But for something as quick as that can't you wait until you're done. It's not good for business. See pictures he charged me 180 for the 2 small tats and I tipped an extra 30. Not as much as I had planned because of the smoke break. On Thursday the day before me getting my wolf done he texted and cancelled said he was sick, I was pissed but whatever things happen, so he texted that he would call me on Saturday when he gets back in to reschedule. I never got a call or text I waited all day and even had my volume on at work so I wouldn't miss the call. Nothing. Nothing Sunday either. Nothing ever. On Monday however I noticed the tattoo I had got done a week ago was faded and not showing. And I took hella good care of it. Being that this was my first tattoo I wasn't sure if it was normal but was told that it wasn't and something was wrong. So I took the initiative and texted Corey about it he said that he could do a touch up for free. But I just got it done a week ago I shouldn't need a touch up. Anyway I agreed. I wasn't sure how the whole process worked so I did research. I read that you should tip even if you get a touch up because they still have to operate the machines and stuff. So whatever I was going to give a 20 dollar tip. Keep in mind he never rescheduled my wolf tat appointment that he cancelled. The retouch appointment was set to Wednesday at 12. I arrive at 12 on the dot and walked in looking for Corey and he wasn't there.   Like what the fuck kind of business is this. He arrived 5 minutes later. Not the end of the world but all of the things combined had me hot. So once he gets in he acted like he didn't know what was going on ‍or what he had to do. Although I texted him pictures of my wrist and everything (about four days earlier) so after I explained he said okay and let me get everything ready.  I waited.  He came to get me and then told me traffic on 66 is terrible. I understand. But when you have something going on you need to leave earlier or let me know you are going to be late. I got the whole thing refilled even though I told him just the M and the I's.  He said he will do it all so that it's all the same black. I understand. I ended up not giving anything because I was so pissed. And I felt a lot of things could have been avoided or better handled. Long story short it was not a good experience for me. I've seen the work done by the artists here, and it's amazing, however, my experience was not so great. My first tattoo artist was super busy as the time so I decided to try someone new, and went with Fin. I really liked his work and he did my friends tattoo, which wasn't too bad. (Later I noticed it seemed to turn into a black blob) So I went with him. I emailed what I wanted and he said great I can do this. When I went in to get my tattoo he was still working on someone so I sat patiently for about 45 minutes, maybe a bit longer, which I didn't mind. My only issue was when he got to me he seemed a bit flustered and then I felt like he rushed through my idea and did not refer to my original pictures I sent. His idea was totally different but I liked the stencil and went for it. When I first looked at the tattoo it was nice, different and not at all what I wanted but I knew I couldn't change that and I agreed to it, so that was my bad. The tattoo healed nicely (I got a butterfly) but when I looked closer the wings were not even at all, one side was bigger than the other and some of the lines were uneven. I've seen his work online and none of his other work looked as uneven as mine was, so I felt like he rushed on me which is unfortunate because I do truly like his work. It's actually been almost a year since I've even decided to write this review but I'm looking to get this piece covered by someone else. Luckily it's on my back so I forget about it all the time. I recommend if you come here, make sure the artist actually takes his time and looks at your idea before putting it on you. I got my first piercing there done by George , I was originally going for a navel and a nose piercing but I ended up just piercing my nose . Before getting my navel piercing , he analysed it and told me straight forward that because of the shape of my navel... it might reject the piercing or not be as nice and flat so advised me not to get it done... Took my sister here to get her nosed pierced after reading good reviews. She was visiting from out of town and has wanted a piercing for years. I had my nose pierced at a very reputable place downtown many years ago, and will say my sister had a much better experience than I. George was amazing.  He walked her through everything, didn't rush her, asked her the right questions, and was very personable. This is my go to shop for piercings and jewelry. The shop is super clean and the staff is friendly, over the phone and in person. I started coming here about four years ago. Maybe stop by twice a year for a new piercing or jewelry change, I've been helped by two piercers who aren't there anymore (tobias and Jennifer) and then by JP. No body remembers me even after seeing me but they always give me excellent service, and answer all my questions and give me great advice on care and placement. To me the quality of jewelry and the price are perfectly reasonable and worth it. My jewelry never looks dirty or scratched and very comfortable,  They have a really good selection of threaded and threadless jewelry, I've bought anatometal, neometal, and bvla here. A lot of random piercing shops do not carry a wide selection or even pretty jewelry. Ive gotten my 3rd lobes, helix, and nose pierced here. I really love that they sterilize the tools right there, and use a high quality sterilizer (the same kinds that even dental offices use to sterilize their equipment). Every time I've gotten a piercing the piercer has shown me the spot, made sure I was comfortable and then happy with the placement.  If you want high quality jewelry, good service, and most of all a GOOD PROPER PIERCING come check out this shop. Love the staff and quality of work. Every time I go in they are wonderful, patient, and friendly. Got my daith pierced here because of amazing reviews and they met my standards! Super clean, walked me through each step and I love they have follow up visits to make sure it is healing properly. I could always sleep on that side, It never got infected, and has been healing up nicely. Went back a couple months later for my first tattoo. They had me scheduled and in within a few days. I came to Comes A Time with a piercing dilemma; I had gotten nipple piercings about a year before calling JP at Comes A Time and my piercer from my hometown had screwed them up pretty badly. When I finally went to see JP, he not only replaced my poor quality externally threaded jewelry with titanium internally threaded barbells, but he did an industrial piercing so cleanly and beautifully for me that around a month later, I don't even really need to clean it anymore. It's that healthy with Comes A Time's titanium jewelry, jewelry sterilization process pre-piercing, piercer expertise, and cleaning instructions. I am recommending Comes A Time to everyone I know who wants to get a piercing; this shop by far gave me the most care and the best piercing experience of anywhere I've been. I took my 7 year old daughter to get her ears pierced today. George was super professional and made her feel at ease. He explained to us everything he was going to do, and had a great bedside manner in dealing with kids. Everything was very clean, sterilized and safe. I wish I could like this place. I went and got my philtrum pierced in September. I drove an hour because I heard this place was so good. The piercer I wanted to get was leaving and I was pierced by George. He was nice but the piercing was done crooked. I asked about it and he said it will heal straight. It's April now and it's still not straight. I will take this piercing out eventually because when I smile the bar sticks out far to the right. Not very nice looking. I have had many good experiences with the piercing services offered here.  My review is limited to the extremely disappointing way in which tattoo artist Fin handles long time customers.  I had a beautiful piece done by Fin last fall and wanted to have another one done. He failed to respond to numerous emails and phone calls in February and March.  He finally responded and told me he was busy until April and to call him back in April.  I did so and we set an appointment.  When I arrived, he was with another customer.  I waited 25 minutes and he came out to say it would be just another minute.  He never came back and after 45 minutes, two hours of leave taken from work and over an hour in traffic to and from the missed appointment, I left.  I won't be back and it's a shame because his work is beautiful.  Customer service does count. In September, I had my left nostril pierced which turned out great. They do well with piercings and are very good at that. However, for three months I was trying to get an appointment with Finn, yet he ignored my calls, emails, for months. Finally, in April he had an opening and so I went today to have my consultation for a tattoo. Upon arriving to our SCHEDULED appointment, he was busy working on someone else's tattoo, and after 45 minutes of waiting there we simply left. I'm really happy with my experiences here- I've been here twice within the past month for my daith & forward helix piercings. For both occasions, I've walked in around 5 PM & they were available to take me without an appointment. I was out of the shop with a new piercing within an hour. The service was great! The front counter girl (I'm so sorry, I never asked for your name!) & Georgie are both super chill & friendly. I was nervous when getting my daith pierced, but Georgie was calming & professional throughout the entire process. The pain was negligible! I also really appreciated that he took the time to explain all the prices of the jewelry beforehand. The shop has a good number of jewelry available as well- I'll definitely be back for any future piercings or jewelry needs, especially for those beautiful BVLA pieces. Can only speak for my experiences with one of the piercers, the amazingly lovely George.Seriously, he's fantastic. He's done both my daith and nostril, both times he was incredibly thorough, kind, and attentive. Though I'm a piercing veteran at this point, the explanation of the process and second go-over of aftercare made me feel comfortable. Also, he's not going to try to upsell the shit out of you. Since my nose was pierced in the past and taken out, he attempted to taper the piercing to see if it was still open so that I wouldn't be needlessly charged for a new piercing. I’ve had two piercings here, an eyebrow and a nostril, one done by each of the piercers here, and they were done perfectly both times. “Perfectly” in this context means that everything was sterilized exactly as it should, and on top of that, the actual puncture was done smoothly and cleanly, so both piercings are healing rapidly and without infection. The placement of the piercings is also perfect. These aren’t my first piercings, I have a tongue and a septum, both years old, but these two I got at Comes A Time are better jobs than my previous two done elsewhere. I came to Comes a Time Tattoo for my first tattoo (Roman numerals on my rib cage) and the tattoo was completely butchered. The numbers are not in a straight line, and the font did not appear to be followed as my tattoo looks like someone freehanded this tattoo. I sent a very polite message via their website asking about a possible tattoo idea and whether or not the size I wanted was feasible. As someone who has never gotten a tattoo, I was hoping for a polite and informative response. Instead, I received an incredibly rude email from Fin saying "not sure if this is a joke" and a very blunt "no we can't do this". It amazes me that people actually trying to make money off of CUSTOMERS can be so rude. Came here a couple months ago to get botched double nostril piercings removed. (Which I did not get done here, I got those done at golden monkey in Fredericksburg) and the piercer here was so gentle and quick compared to what I had experienced at GM. Also so much more sanitary. He removed them both with ease and wasn't even going to charge me which surprised me but he said what they want at their shop is your satisfaction and for you to have a good experience.  I was taken aback by his generosity (and the fact that I wasn't being nickeled and dimed like I had been at the previous shop I had been going to) and gave him a good tip. You can tell this is a good shop with people who care, are knowledgeable and skilled. Their jewelry selection is also very vast with lots to choose from. I just went today to get my nose pierced and was super nervous. George was phenomenal walking me through the types of jewelry they had and explaining the process to me. I recently went to get my nipples pierced here. George was my piercer and all I can say is good things about him! He was extremely informative and had an awesome vibe to him! He made me feel so comfortable that I forgot I was secretly scared sh**less to get my girls pierced. Took my 15 year old in today to get a second ear piercing.  Her friend got the helix piercing.  From the moment we walked in the customer service here was EXCELLENT.  We were educated every step of the way about the process by Jean Paul and George and they were extremely comforting and supportive about the slight case of nerves (even reaffirming to my daughter that she could change her mind all the way up to the piercing moment).  George pierced them and he was amazing.  So very friendly, helpful, and supportive.  In addition, the place is SQUEAKY clean, and high end professional.  We will definitely be back for future services and I could not recommend them more highly.  Don't dare go anywhere else, especially if quality and safety really matters to you.  My daughter is THRILLED with her piercings and already wants to get a third one. Went to get a simple tattoo here and am disappointed with the results. With such a high price for such a basic tattoo I would expect it to at least be done properly and instead I'm going to have to go get the tattoo fixed. Fin did my inside left forearm this past Monday. This is my third tattoo and by far my best experience, all were good but this was best. I am very meticulous about my research and who I wanted to do my next work. The shop is clean and all the staff is friendly, responsive, and welcoming. All are very chill and you can tell love and know/learn their craft. Prices are very reasonable and I couldn't be happier with the turnout. I had no issues with this place piercing wise. My nose piercing was great. I was very nervous going in as this was my first piercing as an adult (ears done as a kid). They made me feel comfortable and it was done quickly and didn't hurt at all. The only complaint I have is when the guy was giving me the pricing up front he made it seem like it was one thing and when he rang me up at the end it was almost three times that amount. Wasn't too impressed when I stopped by about two weeks ago out of the blue to get my jewelry changed out. Was a little disappointed after driving forty minutes each way for something I ultimately could have bought online for cheaper. I summed it up to just having a bad day. Went back today for a schedule appointment to get my nipples pierced by George, and I absolutely fell in love with the shop. The professionalism, the quality of the jewelry, everything. Only reason not 5 stars from me is that it was quite expensive ($30 for earrings per person and $30 for piercing per person, plus $15 for aftercare solution). By FAR my favorite shop I've been to in the Northern Virginia area. Not only is the place spotless when it comes to cleanliness, but the staff seems to have a perfect balance between having fun and staying professional. I've been coming to Fin for my sleeve work and never once have I left disappointed or wary about his tattooing; his attention to detail is impeccable. I could instantly tell he's put a lot of time and dedication behind his craft. I'm insanely happy with my sl...eeve so far and even more excited to have him finish it! The owner is also a pretty funny guy, super friendly and easy to talk to! I've glanced at some of his work and man, this guy knows how to put depth into a tattoo. I went in to get my nose pierced. I was really nervous but as soon as I walked in my nerves went away. The place was really nice and Tom (the piercer) greeted me. He was sooo nice and did an excellent job. I don't think I'll be needing any more piercings but if I do thats for sure where I will go. My step-sis wants to get her tragus done there because she loved the place (and she is PICKY). I highly reccomend Comes A Time Tattoo to anyone and everyone! Read Less
